Chef Damiano, Monica, and their team served up the most delicious meal for our parents 50th anniversary celebration and trip in Rosemary Beach. Not only did they keep everything tidy as they went, they came early, decorated the table with fun 50th anniversary glasses and decor, and Chef Damiano even made "just in case" extra portions of each meal. We found Chef Damiano thanks to his wonderful Yelp reviews! We were in town for a week and we thought the chef's menu sounded the best out of all the other private chef's menus that we saw. The chef was extremely accommodating, he ended up fixing up 3 different entrees for our group since we had a group of picky eaters. We started with the charcuterie board which was prepared by the wonderful Monica! They also served a bruschetta which was delicious. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp and asparagus on puff pastry and the sausage orecchiette. Both were absolutely delicious! The sauce on the shrimp appetizer was wonderful and we found out that the chef makes the puff pastry himself! The sauce with the orecchiette was also wonderful and light! Although it was just a tad on the salty side. For the entrees, we ordered the steak, the lobster risotto, and the grouper. All of which were phenomenal. The lobster risotto blew me away and the peppercorn sauce on the steaks (which were perfectly cooked) was wonderful! Lastly, we finished with the key lime pie and chocolate cake. Despite all the other key lime pies we've tried in the area, Chef Damiano's was the best we had this whole week! FANTASTICO, Ten out of Five stars!!! We had the pleasure of hiring Chef Damiano (Chef D, as we call him) for a private birthday dinner at a beach house in 30 A, for a party of 13. It was one of the best decisions we ever made! Chef D is a master of Tuscan cuisine, and he prepared a feast that was beyond delicious. Chef used fresh, local ingredients and cooked everything to perfection. He was also very friendly, professional, and attentive to our needs. He made us feel like we were in Italy, having dinner with his family! Our evening began with an amazing charcuterie board created by Chefs' beautiful wife, Monica. Everyone was impressed by its grandeur and most of all, the array of fresh, flavorful meats, olives and cheeses artistically arranged beside each other. The appetizer Chef D created for us was amazing. We started with a refreshing caprese salad with mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. The main course was a Filet Damiano, served over crispy garlic mashed potato cake topped with light Gorgonzola, pink peppercorn sauce and asparagus. It was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. For dessert, we were amazed by the homemade cheesecake that was heavenly. Throughout the evening, Chef described to us the ingredients used as well as the cooking process for each of the courses. We had such a wonderful time with Chef Damiano and his team. I'm not even sure where to begin... Chef Damiano and Monica are two incredibly special people, and the experience we had was just that. From the moment they walked through the door, they provided nothing but top-notch service! They were prompt and incredibly efficient - and the food was some of the best we've ever had anywhere!! This is the first time I've done a party with a private chef. The occasion was our mom's 90th birthday -- an intimate dinner with her children and their spouses. I found Damiano on Yelp, and based on the many rave reviews, booked him for our big day. I should mention that we have a discerning East Coast crowd, the sort of folks who pick restaurants from a Michelin guide and have dined around the world. I can definitively confirm that Team Damiano knocked it out of the park! Our guests are STILL raving at how great the meal was, and how personable and warm the chef and his team were. We are repeat customers of this fabulous chef. Damiano and Monica are an amazing team. We have used them 4 times and have recommended them to others who have also used them more than once. Monica makes the process SO easy and is very efficient from beginning to end. The menu is varied so different palates are happy. (including special kid friendly dishes) The food is incredible and so beautifully presented. From the moment they arrive, everything is taken care of and they leave the kitchen cleaner than they found it. They are both very personable and we've enjoyed getting to know them over the years. (We met Caroline for the first time this year and she is an asset to the kitchen!!!) If you are looking for a less interactive experience, they are very subtle while you gather with your group. The melon salad is so light and refreshing, butternut squash ravioli is a family favorite. The Bolognese is the best I've ever had. Steaks are excellent. We choose to do 1 appetizer- the melon dish, 1 pasta- the sausage dish, and 1 entree- the filet, along with a dessert. Words can not describe how perfect this meal and whole experience was. We never felt cheated out of food, the portions were large, there was leftovers, and they were so delicious. I must say everything was great, but that crepe at the end sealed the deal. Wow. Just wow. I was in Destin on vacation recently with my family and thought I would surprise them with a home cooked meal from a local chef. After a little research, I found Chef Damiano's website and thought I would shoot him an email on the off-chance that he would have availability on such short notice. He had a recent cancellation and was able to fit us in! We exchanged a few emails to discuss food allergies and any extreme likes/dislikes and I decided I would leave all of the menu planning to him. He's the expert! I could not have been happier with the meal he prepared. We started with an appetizer of puffed pastry on a bed of arugula that was stuffed with little shrimp and asparagus in a really light, delicious sauce. The portion was large and hardly felt like an appetizer. Delicious! He followed up with a pasta course of risotto. Apparently it's one of his specialties, and I can see why! Ours had butternut squash, Italian sausage with shaved parmesan and a magic drizzle of balsamic that just made everyone so happy. At this point, I was starting to get full. The entrée was the most incredible filet mignon over porcini mushrooms with a blue cheese sauce. My fella was so excited to see steak! I am not sure what he thought an authentic Italian meal would consist of, but this was no spaghetti buffet. He prepared the steak to our liking. For dessert, not that any of us had room, but Chef Damiano prepared torte della nona...grandmother's cake. There were really delicate layers of dough stuffed with a lemon pastry cream with pistachios (I think!) on top. It was out of this world. I tried to get the recipe from him, but he said he promised his nona not to share it. So sweet. All in all, I would heartily recommend The Tuscan Chef. He was easy to work with, produced beautiful, delicious food and my kids really thought it was fun to hear his Italian accent. If his wife is with him, you'll get to hear them speak Italian to each other. So fun! They also shared a lot of stories about Italy. It was truly a magical evening. Wow, exceeded my expectations on all fronts. First, the food is amazing. We had the crab cakes and ravioli for appetizers, filet and grouper for entrees, and tiramisu and chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was really really good. The chef also made a couple of additional plates so everyone could try everything. And as a finishing treat was homemade limoncello. Fabulous!!! I won't ever be able to vacation in the area again, without wanting to have Chef Damiano cook for us again. We are spoiled for life!!! It all started when we were in the area last year, when I was looking for "Things To Do", on Trip Advisor, and cooking classes came up and then somehow I got the idea of a personal chef. My friend and I are both foodies, and thought this might be a really different once in a lifetime experience....we were just talking that this is one of the top two things we've ever done any time, anywhere. I started contacting them six months ago, to find out if they would cook for only two people....no problem....they do EVERYTHING from small dinners to large parties. I told his wife the week we would be coming, and that we could leave exact date open, depending on their schedule as we were flexible. Several weeks ago, we decided on menu...she gave us suggestions, and we narrowed it down from there (Panzanella Salad, Spicy Shrimp Linguini, Beef Tenderloin over Potato Cake, and Chocolate Sin Cake for dessert). Chef and his wife showed up right on time ( early, in fact....love that), and did everything from setting and decorating the table, to waiting on us hand and foot. The best thing I can say, is I wish we could post the smell of the kitchen when they started cooking...OMG!!! I had planned on watching chef cook, but the condo we rented is right on the beach, and it was a perfect night to sit outside, so all we did was relax, had our wine, relax, and ate our outstanding meal. They did everything, including clean up (and take the garbage with them!!!). All the little extras they do ( I don't want to spoil it) we really fun and appreciated.
