I'm writing this just as our installers left. They arrived at 8:00am and just left at 6:45pm. A VERY professional crew and they did a ton of work putting in our new system, new ducts, new electrical wiring, outlets, etc.. and left everything so clean that you can't even tell anyone was here. I am so impressed with this company! It started out when our system would not come on and I called another company that sent multiple people out, tinkered with it all day(without saying a word to me about what they were finding or doing) and couldn't get it running. After they left for the 2nd time "to get another part" and we had no idea what was going on and couldn't get in touch with anyone, we left them a message telling them not to come back and we called Dana's. Dana's said their person would be here at 8:00am the next morning, and James was in our driveway at 7:50am. He spent some time looking around at the system and asking us questions of how it was cycling before, etc... Even though he did not have good news, I appreciated the open communication and honesty. I did read the other review where he said a new system was recommended but not needed, but this is not the same type of case. Our system was so old and you can tell it had been jerry-rigged in a few places. We purchased the house out of foreclosure about 4 months ago and we knew the system was ancient. James explained everything and even pointed out how the gas line (or valve?) was not up to code. So, rather than spend a good chunk of money to repair an old beat-down system, we decided to get a new system and one with cooling as well. Rick our salesperson was very sympathetic to us getting hit with this blow right before the holidays and was very easy to work with. They actually have really good rates on their financing. I didn't get the name of all the installers or electricians, but they were incredible as well. And, they had a ton of work to do at our house. I am so thankful that they cranked it out in one day. After seeing the Dana trucks in our driveway today, our next door neighbor stopped by and informed us that the former owners of the house never used the heating system because of a previous gas leak. So, James was right on about the gas line (or valve?) not being up to code! I am just so thankful that something didn't happen while the system was in use (and yes, we had carbon monoxide detectors). I can't believe that other company didn't catch that or point that out. Long story short, Dana's is a highly professional company that I am glad we called. I felt comfortable with everyone involved and equally as comfortable with our investment in a new system from them. read more

We were provided an estimate that was thorough and detailed. Everything was explained in terms we could understand. The install was quick, clean, and they took all the time I needed to understand the AMAZING thermostat. We are beyond thrilled with our heat pump. read more

They fixed a rental furnace on time and within a acceptable budget. I will use them again. Just had them perform maintenance on my home furnace. I have worked in the field and know when I'm taken for a ride. This was not the case. He was very professional and knew his craft. No up-selling and no side stepping questions. Tyler came and gave us information on the kids of water heater . He was thorough and attentive . We did not hesitate on calling them because our previous experience ( bought our furnace from them ) was nothing but excellent. They do great work and take their time in what they do. We had them come out to look at our furnace and they told us our fan had burned out and would cost about $800 just to repair the fan. They actually wanted us to add some sort of plan for them to come out again and a couple other things that would have brought the cost to almost $1,000. We said no thanks. Luckily my husband finally got through to our Home Warranty people and they sent a team out to look. Turns out all that was needed was to replace the capacitor, less than half the cost of the fan! FUCK THESE GUYS!!! Plus the repair tech they sent was a bit of a jerk. read more

Dana's Heating and Cooling replaced our failing HVAC system within a few days of its declining state our old heat pump had failed it was brain dead and on life support . We had experienced a problem just days before a winter storm system moving in we called Dana's and they were here within a few short hours to diagnose find parts and repair it to operating condition the next day. The Repair guys recommended our older Goodman HVAC be replaced as its life expectancy had reached its time limit. They set us up with Roger who came out and gave us a home analysis's Air Handler and Heat Pump estimate he recommended 3 choices of American Standard Silver brand systems with 19, 16 and 14 SEER ratings due to the inclement weather system that was approaching we put off the installation and right after 3 weeks our old heat pump failed . We called Roger let him know what was going on he was here within 2 hours. We went with the American Standard Silver series 16 SEER , installation was set up 2 days later with a One day demolition of the old and new installation the same day. We found Dana's Heating and Cooling super easy and Professional to work with we appreciate their service . read more

I would Never use them again. I had a Service contract with them and they came out to do my annual service. I provide the filter that they replace at which time the tech told me my Capacitor on my furnace needed to be replaced as it was weak. It is a $8 part and he told me with my discount it would be $189. When I said I couldn't afford to do it at this time he got an attitude with me. I asked why an $8 part cost that much and he said that he charges what the book says. He then went out to my heat pump outside and was out there for a really long time came in and said there was nothing wrong with it. When I asked about my thermostat programming it he said it is discontinued can no longer get it and to replace it will cost $550. I looked it up and can still get it and the cost is $89. He Wasn't happy with me that I wouldn't renew my annual maintenance agreement but I explained I couldn't afford it and I really didn't think it was worth the cost. Well several days later I get a call saying they are confirming my appointment to come out that my motor on my heat pump is failing and I make this to replace it. I wasn't aware that my motor is failing I said and No I didn't make this appointment. She was going to have me talk with a manager but when I said I was so upset and would never use them based on the man that came to my home she hung up on me. I then received an email wanting to know why I didn't renew my annual maintenance agreement so I responded with the whole thing and they never responded to that either. Well it gets better. Ever Since he touched my heat pump it has been freezing up and I had it looked at. He did something to it and now I am having another company work on it because of what he caused. NEVER USE THIS COMAPNY!! THEY DON'T STAND BY THERE WORK OR EMPLOYEES OR GET BACK TO ANYONE!!! THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY!!! read more

We have a rental and the home we live in. We needed to have the annual service done on both. We called Dana's as we have used them in the past and like to support local business. I called to set up the appointments and asked for AC/ furnace maintenance on our house, and furnace service at our rental. First, the furnace was shot at the rental, second the technician did not clean the coils or pine needles etc from the AC unit outside. I called to notify Dana's that the A C unit was not cleaned, the secretary was rude and dismissive and told us she would have the tech call us as she was not at our house and could not tell me what the tech did or didn't do? The tech called us back and seemed irritated. He said that cleaning the unit was not on the work order to clean the outside AC unit it would cost $150.00 more. We were already charged 220.00 dollars. Around the same time we were given the cost to replace the furnace at the rental, $3,200!! I called back to Dana's to ask about a refund on the annual maintenance on broken furnace as it was not serviced ( $120.00) was told that when we purchase another one from them it will go towards the new furnace. Next I asked about the extra charge on the AC unit outside and told the secretary that when I called and scheduled the appointment I was told cleaning the outside unit was included which explained the difference in cost from the rental. Once again, another secretary had an attitude and told me she would call her service manager. Long story short, the technician came the next day to clean the AC unit, he was angry, rude, and did a poor job. We got another quote from Pro-tech heating in Gig Harbor to replace the furnace in our rental for 1,300 dollars, their customer service was so appreciated after the way Dana's treated us. We purchased from Pro-tech who ended up replacing some ducting and other small things at NO additional charge to us. Dana's will not get our business in the future. I think Dana is a nice guy but his staff and his prices have driven us away. read more

I have read the reviews posted about Dana's. The bad ones seem too focus on the cost. Yes it costs money to have knowledgeable people do unpleasant work in cramped and dirty spaces. Dana's does all of that. Their prices are at the higher end of the scale. But they are reliable and they stand behind their work. I have used them for 5 years to maintain my home heating and cooling systems. The systems always work when I need them. Dana's shows up when they say they will and their service techs know what they are doing. If you are looking for a cheapo job don't call them. If you want reputable quality work for a fair price you should consider Dana's. read more

I've dealt with dana a few times.  Should of known better after the first time they tried to burn me when I needed a new blower moti r fi r my furnance.  They wanted $500 to install a $100 motor that took me, the non hvac person, 2 hours to replace...  of which 90 mins was travel to and from the store to pick it up.  I so need a job that pays me $400/hour.  Avoid these people, quite liliterally, at all costs! read more

The team of Tim and James arrived on time and were prompt with removal of our old furnace. These two displayed knowledge of their trade and great customer service. Their friendly demeanors were greatly appreciated and the two seemed to work well together as a team. This is to help anyone that is thinking about using these jokers. They are scam artists. I had Dana's come look at my oil system because its not getting fuel to the burner. They wanted to charge me 240 dollars a hour in labor 600 dollars for a tigerloop. If you go to amazon the price of a tiger loop is one hundred dollars they wanted to charge me 600 dollars for a new fuel pump 80 dollars on amazon. they wanted to charge me 210 for a fuel filter 40 dollars on amazon. This people are thiefs. I never write reviews on anything but I looked them up and saw reviews with 5 stars either they are complete idiots and do not do any research or they work for danas and are trying to make the company sound better. if you want to get ripped off calls these people. 0 stars read more

Sometimes things break in your house at the most inopportune time. I am currently working 12 hour shifts on backshift 6/7 days a week, and last week (Thursday) my water heater started leaking out the bottom. I got three separate quotes by Sunday, and then I went from emptying a bucket of water a day to emptying two a day. I needed this thing repaired fast. All quotes I got had a lead time of 6 days to two weeks. On Monday morning I called Tyler from Danas and said that if he would get it done today that they would have my business. Tyler made it happen and I am living in comfort now going to work not worried about my water heater completely giving way into my garage when I am work, which would have been tragic for my wife to deal with (three kids under 4). Im very picky on the work that is done on my house as I usually replace/update things myself. I came home to a quality unit, installed with quality parts. A big thanks to Tyler Adams (Advisor), and David and Donovan (technicians) for the great friendly customer service and professionalism. We have been using Dana's Heating to perform routine maintenance since moving here six years ago. Even though it was working (inefficiently) we decided to replace our 34 year old furnace. Tim (the sales person) and Roger (the manager) worked together to assure that we would have an efficient, successful outcome. The crew that performed the install was very polite and professional throughout the process. After the furnace was installed they replaced our old thermostat with a very easy-to-use programmable version and thoroughly cleaned all our duct work. Had tech check and service. Found that my compressor was 2 stage and only working on 1. Wanted 5400 to replace comp. was very pushy and didn't want me to get another estimate. Called another co.. they will do it for 3200. I really didn't appreciate their trying to get me to sign contract without getting any more est. I repeat ....VERY pushy. Called Dana's in July to have furnace inspected and to determine if heat pump worked. They made an appmt and didn't call or show up while I waited for them over 4 hrs. The next day the technician came and went over the system. He looked up the history they had of the system on the computer, as they were the company that had installed it and maintained it. Checked out the air handler, checked out the lines, noted the filter was just changed and set up a meeting with another "salesman" comfort advisor to price out a new heat pump if I wanted to replace mine. Got charged $109. for this 1 hour diagnostic. Now when I have a sale in progress Dana's will not "talk" to the buyer's realtor to verify what was done or give access to the technician who looked over the air handler. When I called Dana's to give permission for them to discuss my furnace condition with the buyer they accused me of asking them to "falsify" what they had done. They told me I would have to have another Inspection for sale for another $149.00. I said it was their error in not ordering that in the first place. I had requested an inspection/diagnosis of the furnace in the first place. It is what I had ordered and expected for the sale. This was their error and they weren't willing to relay his findings or work with the realtor to provide information on what they did find. Just wanted more money for another inspection. Do not deal with this company. They cheated me and now I have to get another company that has a good reputation to provide the inspection to my buyer. This company is so rude and unaccommodating to their customers. I paid $109. for the technician to look over the furnace for a sale, got a good review from the technician after 1 hour of looking at it and get nothing out of it I ask them to pass on what they found and get accused of asking them to lie or falsify a report. That are rip off artist. By the way the quote from the "comfort advisor" for a new heat pump was ridiculously expensive too. Beware and compare. The technician said the lines to the heat pump which were still intact were good as was the wiring, but the "comfort advisor" said they needed to be replaced and added that to his excessive quoted price. Stay away. Use another company such as Hood Canal Heating or Poulsbo Heating and get your money's worth with a smile. read more

I am very dissatisfied with the service that I recievied from this company and believe they have deceptive billing pratices as well. I would not recommend them to anyone that i know. They give you 12-6pm appointment time and show at 7p and then bill you over time for it, That happened on the 1st and 2nd visit to me and that padded $80 to the total invoice. They did not return calls when they said they would. They quoted me one charge and billed me additional $140.09. When I questioned this I am mistaken about what was said. read more

Our heater quit working yesterday when the weather got really cold. My in-laws had a great experience with Dana's Heating & Cooling about a month ago... When no other company was willing to come and Dana's came out the same day, so they recommended Dana's. Once again, two other companies said there was no way they could come out today (Gig Harbor), even though they advertise 24/7 emergency service in Gig Harbor. Then we called Dana's and the answer was, "Yes!". Luke, the technician, was very knowledgable and friendly and honest. He got our heat going again, but we have another problem with one of our furnaces. He inspected it thoroughly, and called his boss, and looked information up. Ultimately, he explained that for this particular problem, it is best to call the company who installed it because it is an uncommon system, and the wiring looks a little odd. I really appreciate the honest, straight- forward answer. The cost of diagnostics was just over $100.00, and to me, that is very reasonable and well worth it...especially on an emergent basis. I would use them again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend this company. Thank you! read more
