Cozy / intimate dance studio where you won't feel the pressure of a large group when taking lessons. Flexible hours helps you find the right time that meets your schedule. I have worked with Nadia as I prepared for Dancing With The Stars. Not quite, but it was Dancing With The Wife. I highly recommend them if you need to get ready for a wedding, party, or just brush up on your current skills.

We had the best experience with Adam! We came to him the week of our wedding to help us prepare for our first dance and he was amazing! Thank you Adam for your patience and creativity! Ready or not we have our dance moves for our first dance as husband and wife!

I would think twice before signing a contract.....studio still owes me money. As for the instructors, there are only two, Adam and Lauren. Lauren has no dancing experience prior to Dance King Studios (1 year ago) and only got the job because she happened to walk into the studio one day to buy her parents gift certificates and the studio was looking for a zumba instructor at the time. She is a zumba instructor but not a dance instructor. I don't know about you, but if I'm paying $95 for a 45 minute private lesson, I would want someone with a few years experience under their belt and not just someone who happens to walk in one day to buy gift certificates for their parents. Ask "how many years have you been teaching dance instruction?" She is basically like a student intern/on the job training, which is okay, at a reduced rate, but not at the going rate.

I had such a great time! Adam was a really great teacher, and I left knowing how to dance the basic Argentine Tango. Thanks, Adam!

For legal reasons, I'm not going to go into detail about my problems with this studio. But I will…read moregive the gist of it: despite being a studio for children, the teachers -more specifically, the two women at the head of the ballet department- aren't very child-friendly. They're both elderly, stereotypical boomer type people, so I think you can imagine what their view of "children these days" is... The actual dance training might be objectively good (if you define 'good' as intense), but 'good training' shouldn't justify yelling at eight-year-olds for not being perfectly obedient and quiet 100% of the time. What I will say though, is that this dance studio feels very elitist. As a dancer who attended this studio for over a year before leaving, I experienced multiple classes where the previously mentioned teachers would go on unprompted rants where they would insult or degrade other local studios. And sometimes they would talk about professional ballet companies this way too! There's being proud of your success, and then there is snobbery. Pride shouldn't justify demeaning others. The ironic thing is that one time they actually started insulting a studio that I had previously been at prior to covid, talking about how "they weren't a ballet studio anymore." This other studio did/does teach ballet, they just had/have a focus on contemporary dance, but they were all around a friendly and accepting studio that I don't have any problems with. I will admit that it seems like this other studio was more ballet focused prior to when I joined, but to my knowledge, the teacher who had said this about them had never actually taught or been there. And regardless of whether what that ballet teacher said was true, that still doesn't justify her poking her nose into the business of another studio that by all accounts, she shouldn't care about. Joke is on that teacher though, because now I've returned to that other studio. In conclusion, this studio gives off very snobbish, elitist vibes, and the teacher-student interactions are very questionable -to put it nicely. I've been to a lot of studios throughout my dance training, but this place was hands down the worst.

My little girl is almost 4 and was in the bunnies class with Ms. Ashley and loved it. They always start the class with a story and incorporate it into their dancing while still learning proper dance steps and terminology. My daughter did the class with ballet, tap and jazz. They end the class with dressing up. Ms. Ashley was great at keeping the girls on task and doing what they were supposed to be doing. I like that they don't focus the entire class on learning recital pieces, but do run through the dances. Recital is optional which we chose not to do this past session. If you are doing the recital you get a pactice DVD to wok on at home. Make-ups are easy to do. The studio is a good size and has open classrooms so you get to watch the class each week. I think this studio is a little larger than the Brambleton location. They do sell ballet clothes and shoes there as well. I have bought leotards and tutus there, but I genereally try to get tap and ballet shoes used as little ones grow SO fast and are usually in great shape. We did make-ups with Ms. Jenna as well as Ms. Tosha and can't complain. My daughter loved both of them as well. Classes are a little pricey but worth every penny in my opinion. Looking forward to summer and fall sessions, the fall recital and maybe even a summer camp!

The open concept is very disruptive when you have one child who is always wanting mom or moms feel the need to try to teach their kids instead of leaving it to the teacher. There are curtains ...use them! The teachers are excellent, we had Mrs Cassie and Mrs Jenna. Although, if a teacher has to take off they cancel the class! You can make the class up but we take Saturday class for a reason.. We can not come a different day. Then the recital; total chaos! No one knows where to go or what to do. Mandatory rehearsal was at 8pm on a school night for a kindergartner AND it was 45 mins away from the studio and over an hour away from our house. Terrible idea!! Then at the recital you are expected to leave your child with very young girls as babysitters...they lost my daughter between dances. Not ok!! Then the performance was WAY too long... They let tiny babies dance( actually it was them just chasing them around the stage) for WAY to long. 2 year old are too young but I'm sure they saw that as another way to make money.

We just had a blast every single lesson. He gave us options for steps and helped us build a dance we were comfortable with, was interesting, and totally customized to our song. He helped us get so comfortable with the steps and, as we got better, gave us tips to improve even more and flourishes to make the dance a bit more engaging for the audience. Having been a part of many weddings, he's full of helpful tips in general for the wedding, like how to walk on and off after the dance, where my husband should go when we transition to father/daughter dance, and to remember to smile especially during the finale. It definitely shows that he has worked with a lot of couples with their wedding dances, but also has officiated weddings himself, so he has so much helpful knowledge!
