I had informed the makeup artist (MUA) that I'd be 10 minutes late, but ended up being 30 mins late but she had already tried reaching out and eventually canceled when she couldn't reach me When I arrived at her place with all my luggage, I sent multiple texts, pleading and begging her to at least apply the foundation and powder--after all, I already had my lashes done and there were still 40 minutes left in the session. Despite my efforts, she refused to respond. After 20 minutes of repeated calls and texts, she finally returned my call, accusing me of harassment. In my frustration, I remarked that may she experience the same inconvenience, I also pointed out that while some people believe the world will end without them, life goes on regardless, make up artists are not critical workers. I understand that business owners are running a business, but please show some grace--you never know what people are going through. All you could have done was pick up your phone! Stood outside her door texting Calling pleading as I did not have my own make up kit Thankfully, things eventually worked out: I found another MUA and managed to make it to the event, albeit four hours late--which was entirely my fault. Plus some folks need to UNDERSTAND the meaning of harassment and not throw the word around without proper context or understanding!

She was always communicative, professional, honest, and so easy to talk to. She never pushes you toward a certain look, and instead, guides you to figure out what you might like or might suit you best. She is a bit on the pricier end, but if you want quality work from someone who's reliable and pleasant to work with, then book Quynh! Here's the thing. You get what you pay for but this business is not transparent at all when it…read morecomes to pricing, what you're getting, and what a 'completed' look is. And terrible service and communication overall. I'm kicking myself in the boots for not going with a more up to date make up & hair artist thinking I was going to get a decent experience here for a cheaper price, and then ended up paying more than a skilled makeup and hair place. First, I asked for Hollywood waves over email. The email came back saying my pictures were glam waves, so I said sure I'll do glam waves. When my hair was 'finished' curling, the front of the hair was not styled at all so I asked for more curls in the front. That ended up being a '2nd style' (at check out mind you, not during) ~ and then she proceeds to tell me 'this is Hollywood waves, not glam waves' Second, the make up artist Leslie, kept asking me what kind of look I wanted so I gave her exact instructions of what I liked. When we got to the bottom of the eyes, she just put dark colors everywhere and I looked ghoulish- I asked her to brighten it up and she asked for a picture. So I pull up a picture of a Vietnamese bride, and immediately she looks at it and says 'that's Korean make up. You need to go look for a Korean Make up artist'. I was so shocked by that comment I wanted to leave then and there but wanted to still finish the trial I signed up for. This ended up being $500 because they're calling me asking for her to complete the look, two different make up and two hair styles. I asked for the bottom part of the eyes to be brightened so that was a second make up look, and asking to style the front of the hair was called a second hair look... which all happened through the way she went about asking random questions as she's doing the make up and hair during the appointment vs. having a holistic conversation up front in the beginning. I just feel so bamboozled. Also the chairs they have you sitting is extremely uncomfortable with a low back- I honestly can't believe I was charged more to sit there and go through this experience. My back hurt for the next few days. I reached out to the business for clarification and they just simply said I got two hair looks and two make up looks, except I don't have two finished looks anywhere but just one of each. No pictures of two separate looks as they were not finished. I should have said I am not paying that then and there but I was so tired I had no energy to argue, and had to go to another meeting next. I can't recommend a business that 1) is not clear about their policy -- they need to tell you ahead of time 'if you're asking me to add this color to the bottom of your eyes, I'm going to charge another $100 for this look' instead of asking for feed back for every single thing (I'm not the makeup artist here!). I gave one feedback throughout the session and that ended up being a 'second look' and 2) immediately classifies something as 'Korean makeup' because I show a picture of an Asian woman, and tells me to go find a Korean make up artist.

She asked to see what colors I was wearing for my photoshoots and let me know what eyeshadows, blushes and lip colors could bring everything together. Consultation and makeup application all done in one hour and the final results were fabulous. I'll schedule with them in the future. Each time, my makeup lasted the ENTIRE day. I absolutely loved each look so much that I did not want to wash my face before I went to bed!
