In group shots not everyone was looking at the camera or people were in a strange spot. Honestly there isn't one image that stands out that I truly love, and out of 508 images that's shocking to say but true. I had to suggest different poses for our wedding party. Something I thought the photographer would have done esp for such a hefty price tag. Almost 2 years later, I am still disappointed when I look at the images, and it has taken me this long to even wrote a review. Wedding pictures are supposed to be something you look back and with complete excitement and happiness. I don't get those feelings at all. I feel stressed when I look at them and disappointment. I will say I am giving LM Photo 3 out of 5 stars because of the photo booth which we got from the photographer last minute. The photo booth was a surprising success.

When she went to scout out the venue, she also found an off-site spot nearby where we could get some nice landscape shots. We ended up getting so caught up during the reception that we decided not to sneak away for the off-site photos, but it was nice to have that as an option and very thoughtful of her to scope it out for us. Since we didn't do the off-site photos during the wedding, I'm especially grateful for the gorgeous photos she took during an engagement shoot. As part of our package, she offered to do a pre-wedding photo shoot with us. We live on the east coast, and she met up with us out here! We walked around one of the national parks and she got some amazing portraits and candids. She did such a great job guiding us. I wanted portraits that looked natural and not super staged, and she was an expert at that. Elli has an incredible gift for capturing not just how things looked, but how they felt. We're so grateful for her and we'll cherish these photos forever.

Since we eloped in Hawaii, we hired Elli (along with an assistant photographer she selected) for 4 hours to photograph our reception. This included a 30-minute portrait session before our grand entrance, and coverage until about an hour before dancing ended. From the very beginning, Elli was incredibly organized, communicative, and thoughtful. She walked us through exactly what information she needed ahead of time--family groupings, key moments, priorities--which made us feel more prepared going into the day. We also met in person about a week before the wedding to scout the location. Even though Elli had photographed at the Presidio before, she still took the time to walk the space with us and make sure the lighting, scenery, and flow matched our vision. It was our first professional photoshoot ever and we were very excited. However shortly after we arrived, he stated "I'm so tired. This is my third engagement shoot of the day and I flew in from Italy last night." ...Not exactly the words you want to hear when you're paying $800 and have been looking forward to this moment for the last month or so. But I thought, well maybe he's just tired, I'll keep an open mind. It didn't get better...his directions felt very "posed". I wanted our photos to look very candid. I thought maybe it's because I'm not a model so it's never going to feel comfortable - well, our photos ended up looking very posed and not candid at all. Additionally, he wasn't very personable or positive at all, which doesn't help two people who aren't professional models feel comfortable in front of the camera. He would just tell us to smile. It was very unhelpful. I would also like to add, his editing or the lens he used made me look fat. I know they say the camera adds 10 pounds, but as a person with a low-normal BMI, I know it's not me. I even got comments from my honest friends that these photos don't look like me at all and that I looked pregnant!! How mortifying!! He even bragged during our shoot about how he often shoots really luxurious weddings that are 300,000 dollars...that's great and all but we still paid your asking price for the engagement shoot and never even tried to negotiate a lower price. My fiancé and I make decent money, but it felt like if you're not one of their super wealthy clients, then you're not important. We did not feel like valued clients at all.
