I had them install a Generator thru Costco. - Didn't clen up after job - Had to come back and re-pipe the gas line - Gas line wasn't secure - Never turned the hot water heater back on Not impressed and I would nit reccommend then at all. I ma surprised that Costco uses them. read more

I'll start with the positive, the electrician that came to my house was nice, efficient and knowledgeable. Now the negative, the visit started with a free electrical consultation which is just another way to try and upsell a customer services. The actual reason for the visit was to swap out a bathroom light fixture and troubleshoot a gfi outlet, total time spent was less than 30 minutes, total bill was over $700. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. First let me say I have been using this company since 2019. I had them install a whole house standby generator. Up until this year they had been great. Made appointments would give me a call the evening before they would come out to service to give me a window of time. However apparently this has changed. I never recieved a call last night nor this morning. I finally called at 12:30 PM today to ask where is the service guy. I was told he was in Lincroft which is only about 12 miles from me and he would call when he was on his way. Finally at 2:45 PM I called and was told another excuse that he was running late. I got fed up wanted to speak to the manager. Some guy gets on the phone giving all types or excuses. That the service tech would be out now between 3 and 6 PM. Told him to use Trumps word your fired! Amazing he put me on hold and I was told the service guy would be at my house by 3-3:00PM. I again said I wanted to talk to the manager, and was told he doesn't have a phone. What you have got to be kidding me. So I hung up. During that next waiting period I called another Generac service company and made an appointment for next week and $200.00 cheaper than Danley. Called Danley back and was told I can't cancel etc... Told them they were fired and to stop the tech from showing up, as I didn't want him wasting time are gas. Got into another shouting match with the girl on the phone, told them they are fired etc... Guess what 10 minutes later the service guy showed up. Told his company was fired and to leave. read more

I signed a contract (paid in full) the end of Sept 2024 to have my electrical box replaced, a new 30 AMP line run to my range, a sconce installed going upstairs with wiring, and recessed lighting for my living room. Upon township electrical inspection, it failed for 3 reasons: missing surge protector as required by code, need KO seal on side of panel and incorrect wiring of neutral going into the box. I also reported that the new sconce and upstairs light wasn't wired properly and at times there was no power in the 3-way switches. When reviewed by a different Danley electrician. it was conveyed it was improperly wired and the wiring on 2 switches was consequently disconnected. My calls and e-mails thus far have gone unanswered and I have left a message for the owner or manager to call me but haven't heard back as of 6 PM today. Despite knowing of the problems, Danley seems to see no urgency in rectifying their problems. I have a 95 year old mom who stays with me on weekends and has no lighting in the stairway or hallway because of the ongoing issues thus causing safety issues. Another problem I had to deal with resulted from the electrician having problems manipulating the main electrical going into the electrical box resulting in in gaps large enough for small mice to get into my electrical closet. I had to caulk all around it once I noticed the gaping hole. On a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the highest, I would rate their work as '1' simply because it's the lowest I can give. I looked at the reviews prior to hiring Danley and they were overall excellent which is why i went with them - big mistake! If you have a problem, you'll be lucky to ever see or hear from them again. I cant help but wonder, if Danley will honor their contract and fix the outstanding problems. read more

We used Danley for a whole house generator through Costco. They took care of everything, the permits, inspections etc. it all went so smoothly and everyone I dealt with was super professional from the estimate to the scheduling and the start up. I had a lot of questions and Diane in the office was so patient with me and always got back to me quickly. She also made sure I was informed of the process and what next steps would be. The whole installation only took a day and we were without power for less than half of that. Other places said it would take a couple of days and their price was also a bit lower than the other estimates we got. My husband is an electrician and said they did really nice clean work. I was referred to Danley Electric for the installation of my Generac generator through Costco. According to Danley's sales person, Danley is responsible for all Costco generator installations in New Jersey. There were a number of issues related to the installation that caused me great concern: 1. It was installed without a significant feature: the Wi-Fi chip (to enable monitoring) was missing. Although Danley Electric told me they couldn't know this prior to installation, I called Generac who told me that when a generator is shipped without the chip, there is a sticker to that effect on the box. I would not have had the generator installed at that time if I had known this. 2. When I asked for some type of compensation for the above problem, Danley Electric offered free installation whenever the chip arrived(!) Ridiculous! 3. The installers insisted the generator could not be installed in the exact location that had been approved by my HOA Committee. It is located further from the wall of my home than originally planned. This became a problem that had to be dealt with. 4. When my installation was inspected by the township, it failed. I don't think this is unusual, but when Danley Electric sent a technician to make the fix, he neglected to turn the generator back on, so that it was out of commission for a period of time. When Danley Electric contacted me to let me know of this problem, they asked me to go out to the generator to turn it on myself. The cover was unlocked and the keyhole covers were standing open. One of these has never worked properly since. 5. New Jersey State Law (13:45A - 16.2) mandates that "final inspections for building, electric, plumbing, fire protection and elevators must be completed before final payment is made to contractor". In spite of this, Danley Electric charged me for the full payment prior to the final inspection (I was unaware of this law until the town inspector informed me that I should not have paid until his inspection had been done.) Obviously, Danley Electric should have been aware of this law. 6. When I questioned Danley Electric about the above, the response was that it was on me to refuse to pay until after the inspection. Of course, they shouldn't have even asked me for payment prior to the final inspection. Eventually, I received an apology for this. read more

I had the unbelievable good fortune to have W. Danley install my whole house generator and then expand an outdoor outlet to a quad. They were really fair priced, timely, and so professional. Their "A-team" arrived about 15 minutes early and used booties on a super nasty, snowy, and sleeting day. They seriously left not a spec of dust or dirt and everything looked as it did before in my garage near the electrical panel. They installed a Generac 20-kW generator and didn't disturb my gravel dry creeks that were adjacent to the area they were putting the generator in. I was so pleasantly surprised when I stepped outside to see the area where they installed the generator and it looked as if it had been there forever. They paid such attention to the little details and even placed the grass they had moved around the sides of the generator pad. I am super duper picky and all of the plumbing and electrical work looks beautiful. I absolutely love W. Danley!!! If you need anything electrical or plumbing, I super highly recommend calling them. Do not trust this company. They will send untrained professionals to perform work which can pose a serious fire and safety hazard for your home. There was a manufacturer recall on the generator at my home. Since they were the installer, the company asked me to contact them to inspect the potential issue about a recall. If the part is not damaged, there would be a $80 fee the company would charge. On the day of the inspection, the tech arrived on time. He opened the generator and checked out the part, after checking the unit for about 5-10 minutes, he came back and said my part was fine and I should not be impacted by the recall. He charged the $80 fee and was on his way. Fast forward 6 weeks, my generator maintenance company arrives and they notify me of a potential recall. I told them the installer had checked it out and it was not damaged. but guess what, when the tech checked the part, it was clearly cracked, rusting and visible signs of corrosion. They immediately contacted the manufacturer and turns out Danley had not even submitted the paperwork for my unit to the manufacturer, advising them that the part did not fail. The maintenance company then performed the necessary swap of the damaged unit, submitted a claim which was immediately accepted by the manufacturer. This was a serious fire hazard per the manufacturer and could have put my full family at risk. I contacted Danley the next day to advise them of their incorrect findings and ask for a refund. They asked for pictures, which I sent, and their response via email was "This does not qualify for a replacement. And based on the pictures you have sent, I agree with our service technician." The tech who came out here identified himself as Joe. When I asked for a tech number for Joe so that the manufacturer can verify he is a licensed tech who performed the inspection. Danely has not provided me on via email, nor have they responded to my 2 voicemails which I have left for them on Hans' mailbox at ext 216. Per Generac, Danley was also supposed to leave a paperwork to state that would have provided me with what they checked, what was the condition, etc. But nothing was left. I doubt Joe was even a certified tech licensed to perform this kind of an inspection. He seemed like a kid just out of college. Looks like Danley is going around doing inspections, collecting the 80 bucks, not filing any findings with Generac and leaving the customer to suffer in the future. I am very surprised about the positive reviews, because I found out later that even people who work there are constantly asked to perform unethical tasks so the company could pocket some extra $$. They may be good at installing generators, but DO NOT trust them with their maintenance. If they have inspected your plenum, I would get it checked again and protect your family. read more

To put it in 1 word: AWESOME! I'm admittedly picky when it comes to work done on my custom home, and hold all contractors to a very high standard. Danley's performance was perfect, and managed to meet or exceed my high standards. Walter Danley, the owner, came at the promised time to provide an estimate himself. He immediately struck me as a professional in every regard: he was patient in explaining my options, and expertly answered all my questions while presenting information I needed to make a decision in an easy to understand manner. He did not try to "oversell" me a larger generator than I needed, and in fact he talked me down from a much larger generator I had researched because it was overkill. I ultimately chose a 22 kW Generac Whole House generator with load shedding features to power the entire house in the event of an outage. I had specific criteria in how I wanted the outside gas & electrical connections routed, and Walter devised a solution that would meet my somewhat unconventional specifications. He was neither pushy nor aggressive, and did not expect a purchasing decision on-the-spot as some other contractors did. He sent me a written proposal via email promptly, and worked with me to revise the proposal a few times without complaint so that I would be content with the written statement of work (I warned you I'm picky). In the weeks that followed I met with other contractors and compared their bids. Walter's proposal was not only the best in price, but also in value. That I already admired his professionalism from our meeting made the choice clear in my mind that Walter Danley's company would win the bid. I became busy with the trials of life, family and business and failed to contact Walter to award him the project. Though I had forgotten to "seal the deal" his office did not. His pleasant secretary followed-up with me (as one would expect from a professional to do) to inquire if I had any further questions they could answer in order to make my purchasing decision. Once I signed the contract I made a nominal deposit and his office handled the necessary communications with my gas company to ensure my gas feed would support the generator. They obtained the permit, and as soon as I sent them a copy of my survey (which they called my town to prepare for me to simply pickup) they did all the background tasks necessary to schedule the job with me. As we approached the scheduled date, they called to confirm our installation and let me know what to expect once they started work. Their installers arrived as promised. A 5-man team skillfully completed their tasks that day and each of his employees showed the same professionalism and proficiency in their tasks as Walter himself. It's a large house, and for aesthetic reasons I wanted the generator installed on the opposite side of the house as the main gas and electrical feeds. This meant they had a lot of work to do in order to make their gas & electrical runs. They were respectful of my home, careful in their work, and tireless in their diligence to complete their tasks. You could tell they enjoyed their jobs and were happy as they worked. You can't fake that type of dedication! Though we had a few unavoidable surprises (such as a surprisingly high amount of rebar embedded in my concrete foundation) the crew expertly resolved all the job-site challenges without skipping a beat, nor trying to up-charge me. I asked to be involved in the installation decisions so that I could ensure minimum disturbance to my home and maintain the most "hidden" installation mode possible so that as little was visible as possible. As a result, they called me over to review precisely where the generator would rest outside, locations where they wanted to drill into the foundation for the service line runs, and exactly how the lines would come up from underground into the generator (yes, I'm that picky). It was evident that they understood my concerns and respected by specifications as I approved their recommendations without any edits. The project was completed on-time, on-budget, and passed all city inspections the first time. Within 3 days of starting the project, they were able to run a test of the generator by simulating an outage and fully complete the installation. One of the electricians then spent the time to review features of the transfer switch, followed by a trip outside to walk me through the menu settings, options, and even how to change the oil (I can still remember that my generator requires 1.9 quarts of full synthetic 5W30) in the event that I might want to do it myself. Though it was raining outside, the technician did not rush me through the orientation at all. Finally, service contract options were also presented with no pressure to sign-up (though I did chose to do so). We are very disappointed by our recent interaction with this company. We have had our generator serviced by them last year with a technician by the name of Hans and had an excellent experience. This year they called us on more than one occasion to tell us it was time for our generator to be serviced. After a few calls we finally agreed and were quoted a price of $275 for the visit. When the technician arrived he began the servicing and then we received a call from their office to tell us that our generator is a different kind than they originally thought and now they would be charging us more than twice the original quote. Obviously this does not make sense because 1) they have serviced the same generator last year 2) the type of service and generator was in their system before coming. We reluctantly agreed to pay this price although we found it unfair. when time of payment came again the same customer service rep by the name of Jessica Gusset called to take our payment information. I was in middle of another task and asked if she could wait a moment so I could go get my card for payment to which she very rudely cut me off and demanded that I give the payment right then. I had never said I was not paying but merely wanted to put her on hold to get my card. Her tone of voice was extremely unprofessional and she would not give me a chance to speak to let her know I didn't have my card in front of me. We are terribly disappointed. read more

I finely had the money to install a Generac Generator and have wanted one ever since Super-storm Sandy. I met this group at a home show in Brookdale College. They came over and the salesmen inspected the home, discussed with me my needs and recommended a generator. I decided to use them as their price was slightly lower than other companies. On the day of installation, the crew showed up on time actually a 1/2 hour early. They started work promptly and finished about 4 hours later. The workers were younger but professional polite and took time to explain to me each step that they had to do. Everything passed township inspections plumbing electrical etc. No issues with the work are the unit. My only reason for a four star rating is the Salesman was not 100% truthful in his statements, and the staff has to come back again to show me how the unit communicates to my cell phone. I could not get that to work. Generac comes with a five-year warranty so I don't think I will spend another $1,000.00 for the extended warranty. However, I do recommend the service contract. This is a complicated machine so having them maintain and check it yearly is worth the money. I do not expect any system issues, as it has been 7 years since Sandy and any real power failures in my area. Like homeowner insurance this is something you hope never needs to used. But the piece of mind is well worth it. read more

We called & spoke to Walter who then told us he would send out a tech later that day..Steve called us soon after to let us know he was starting another job but informed us an ETA as soon as he could. As soon he arrived he diagnosed & isolated the problem so that we were able to have electricity in the section that was out. He thoroughly explained & gave us options of what needed to be done... We would highly recommend this company as they are extremely reliable, knowledgeable & very reasonably priced. Had entire house generator put in two years ago after first year a delay panel started making a humming sound, I called them and told them what the problem was they came out and replaced it. A few weeks ago the same panel started making the same humming noise so I called them again. The person I spoke to on the phone said it had to be replaced or in a couple months it could cause real problems. The service person came out today and told me just the opposite all it is is a humming sound it does not need to be changed. I guess it didn't need replacing the first time either. I guess it didn't need replacing the first tome either. But, they charged me $175 for him coming out. If they would've told me this on the phone I would've never had them come out so I don't think they should be charging me for a service call because the person gave me bad information. This is nickel and diming your customers I am not happy and will never ever use them again. This is not how you keep customers happy. read more
