Dr Wang has been treating my mom with both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and our entire family has noticed a huge difference in the appearance of her eyes! At the same time, she's been getting treatment for insomnia and the chronic lower back pain, and received reallt good results as well. Dr Wang is a lovely person, and is very patient with explaining the treatments to my mom, and ensuring her comfort every time. Her clinic is clean and comfortable. My treatment started with seeing Dr Starr a couple times a week, until I got to the point to where I now only see her on an as needed basis (last year I saw her every few months or so). I don't feel the need to crack my back anymore! Dr Starr listens carefully to what is causing me pain, always fixes me up, and I never feel rushed. As a result, I was able to focus on the techniques, rather than jogging down notes I probably cannot read after (ha!). I'm happy to report that I'm advancing on my strengthing exercises for my core/glutes since my injury a month ago. The clinic gets pretty busy after 5 pm when people get off work. The receptionist is very nice and works hard to shorten the line, but expect a short wait as their debit/credit card machine is kinda slow. A big bonus for this location as they validate your parking and reimburse you with ca$h.

You know you are in good hands right away. He also gives such easy but effective exercises that WORK! I really like the assistants there too, they are very friendly and help ease pain. My 10 year old loves this place and feels so special every time she visits. The bonus is they don't have a user fee whatsoever.This clinic is the only one in Burnaby that does not charge a user fee. The parking fee in the parking lot is also reimbursed by the clinic upon presentation of the parking ticket - can't get better than that. I would never go anywhere else.

Things are a little different now that COVID has landed but the experience of getting acupuncture…read moremight feel iffy for some novices even before the pandemic. For me (with a dislike of needles) I have an entire routine to get my zen-on. In the days 'before' I would get the tea offered at the front counter, pay for my treatment, have the choice of one of the multiple beds or chairs and I could choose a comfy blanket from the front rack to get snuggly into the generous treatment time. NOW post-apocalypse I am masked, there is no tea although perhaps I could bring my own but really I can't recall how I even managed tea with the treatment needles so no real loss there. The beds are gone but the chairs remain at WELL spaced intervals and again NO loss cause my body (that lives with disability) always chose the chairs anyway. Did I mentioned these are leather (or pleather) reclining chairs as in you could practically go horizontal if you choose. Group blankets are gone but meh maybe it was their time anyway- now I bring my Own snuggly blanket of choice. Once you scuttle into the bathroom for handwashing you are good to go to let the mellow music take you to your happy place and kick back for your choice of relaxing timeframes. I am kinda double-masked in that my eye mask helps with my extra 'needle' tension so I'm Very well sealed in my own private Idonknow. If I'm missing their scented eye shields well that is an easy fix with a bring your own option. ALL in all, COVID has not kept this team down from pivoting and providing lots of workable options to let the pressure out and find some peace.

I first saw her in September 2014. She is the third chiropractor I've seen and while the other two are perfectly qualified, one left me with too much of a all business attitude and the other, while friendly, I still felt I wanted some more common ground. Dr. Amber Eckel is different in that each time, I feel like she really cares about your well being and has a great understanding of my specific activities. Especially as they recently been involving crossfit lately. I appreciate that she has knowledge of other techniques to employ when necessary like cupping when a little bit more work is necessary.
