A chill cafe in East Plano that wasn't too loud on the weekend. However, it was pretty crowded on Easter Sunday and I lucked out with a chair. As a person that doesn't consume cow milk, I was disappointed that their signature lattes were not plant based friendly. I wanted to try their pistachio latte but the gentleman at the counter told me it's premixed with whole milk. So I opted with an iced latte with oat milk, vanilla and caramel. When frequently visiting many cafes, I find the coffee underneath the flavored syrups to be extremely bitter and not quality. This latte however was incredibly smooth and enjoyable. Would visit again, but this visit had some ups and downs. Visiting with my cousin we ordered cheese pie, Mediterranean breakfast, Arabic coffee, Adani tea, and a macchiato. The portions were great for the price paid. We enjoyed everything, but a few details would have helped us choose the meal. With diets being so varied in the world today my biggest critique would be to label everything going on the dish. We had to scoop jalapeno from the hummus and bean dip because 1) it is NEVER served on other dips like this, and 2) we were not looking for spicy food. Also, I have had cheese pie from many other locations and never had it served with black sesame seeds. It didn't affect the flavor much, but allergies can be sensitive to the seeds and it would be helpful to label that. As for the young lady who served us, thank you for being so patient, however I wish I had not noticed her looking at her phone so many times during our visit and when I was alone looking at the menu. read more

Cute coffee shop with plenty of seating. Was surprised that they have so many pastry and dessert options and even food options. The workers were really friendly. The owner was in when I ordered and there was a new employee. Customer Service was amazing however my order came up wrong and it was fixed right away. I ordered their version of an iced caramel macchiato and ended up with a tea. My order was remade correctly and I was even offered the incorrect drink to keep. Still the absolute best coffee shop in the area. My family makes it a point to visit here as much as we can when in the DFW area. The Dera and pstachio lattes are amazing. You can't find better versions of the pistachio latte which uses a housemade syrup. I've been wanting to try this place ever since I saw them on D-magazine. I finally went on a Saturday around 4 p.m. The place was pretty empty, with just a couple of customers standing in line, trying to decide what to order. They don't have much of a paper menu; you choose desserts and foods from the display cases, and the drinks are listed on the menu. The interior is pretty spacious with plenty of seating available. The staff were super friendly and helpful with their recommendations. There were free food samples by the pickup area. I ordered a d-stachio latte, a pistachio cannoli, and a konafa pistachio choco bar. I also picked up a free sample of their raspberry turnover (I think that's what it was). The latte was okay - pretty sweet, with small pieces of pistachio mixed in, and it definitely had a good flavor. The nuttiness of the pistachio really came out after the cream settled a bit. The raspberry dessert was really good - sweet and had a strong raspberry flavor. The cannoli, unfortunately, was pretty bad - the cream was way too sweet, which completely overpowered the pistachio, and the cannoli shell was just wrong. The choco bar was also pretty bad - overly sweet and incredibly pricey for the subpar flavor. I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the buzz. read more

Got their hot americano and it's pretty light. The cup for my americano kept leaking though. Total for my order (latte + hot americano) was little over $10 and I paid with $20 cash. The cashier said she didn't have any change to give me. I don't care about a few cents but this should NOT be standard business practice. A wonderful local coffee store which has expanded from simple beginnings to now offering curated coffee as everything from fresh beans to a rich pour over. That's not to mention their slowly expanding breakfast and lunch menu making this cozy and warm store the perfect place to hang out or study. Service here has always been great, I can't remember a time they've messed up my order or made me wait longer than expected. They have all their recipes locked in to a T so your items will also come out the same every time as well. As for their menu, there's too many items I've tried to discuss them all so I'll go over my favorite order: D-Staschio Latter over ice, Brisket Sandwich meal and a date muffin. It's my own little 3 course meal covering every note of bitter, sweet, savory, spicy salty and sour. It's one of many combos you can make but for my money, that's what I'm going for. Which on the note of money, not a fan of the big jump in drinks prices to match the competition, but at least they didn't drop quality or portions with it. A little overpriced in my opinion - I paid almost $7 for a small size iced vanilla latte, I believe it was 10oz? The drink was also not made as ordered, I asked for half the amount of vanilla but got the normal amount. I didn't complain and said it's fine, they did offer to remake it which I appreciated. One of our highlights during our trip to Texas. This place was about 5 minutes from the AirBnB and had to give it a try. When you walk in, you're greeted by their welcoming staff. The ambiance is bright and spacious. We saw space for people to do work, big tables for larger gatherings to catch up with friends, and to just be alone and vibe. DeRa Coffee is without a doubt the BEST coffee shop in the DFW area! Every time I go back home to Dallas, I always head to DeRa to grab one of my favorite coffees of all time... their D-Stachio latte! It's an iced pistachio latte with a shot of espresso (made with their house-made pistachio syrup) and it tastes just as delicious as it looks. The only downside is that the pistachio syrup is pre-made exclusively with whole milk (and they don't offer any alternative plant-based milks), so it isn't very inclusive :( Aside from their signature pistachio latte, I also adore their spanish latte and their pistachio muffin! However, all of their signature lattes (including the spanish latte) are premade with whole milk, so that's something to be mindful of if you're lactose intolerant! Hopefully they offer dairy-free alternatives in the future :/ DeRa is such an underrated gem in Dallas. I'm always treated so kindly by all of the cashiers and baristas, and love how welcoming and cozy the space is. Plus it's independently owned, so you get to support a lovely small business! I saw this cute new coffee shop pop up in Plano and wanted to stop by to try their d-stachio latte which is their special pistachio latte. I love the spacious seating area and there's also outside shaded seating. All the natural light that comes in helped me feel extra productive here while getting some work done. I really enjoyed their instrumental playlist, which was a vibe while not being overly distracting. After I ordered they told me they'd run out of 16oz cups so they upgraded my drink size for free, yay! I had a feeling I would like this spot, but their customer service makes it an even more enjoyable experience. The owner offered me one of their desserts to try, the baboosa: a semolina cake.
