So when this picture was taken, I was excited that the quarter panel came out nice. When I got home, I noticed that the driver side fender had been drilled to put in an emblem that didn't belong there in the first place. I took it back and was told that he'd make it right. After repairing it, I noticed the paint did not match and I had three different shades of green. He then said he would paint the whole car to match I agreed but told him that I needed it before September 20th for a show I was going to. This was two months ago. Now the day before the show, it's still not ready. In total my car has been in the shop for 9 months when back in December I was told it would take 4-6 weeks. I'm frustrated, angry, depressed and just want my car done already. read more

This review is to say " Thank you" for your random act of kindness toward me. I had a helacious week and what could go wrong did. Starting with having to put down my little dog Upon leaving the vet, I pulled out of the parking spot and hit my left fender, adding insult to injury. So, I set out to get quotes on Friday to fix the self inflicted damage I caused to my car and Darryl's Auto Repair was one mile from where I was that morning. I found the shop on Yelp and the shop was my first stop. The guy came out I asked for a quote and he proceeded to work on it. He worked on my fender on the spot for about 15 minutes. When he was done I asked " how much do I owe you?" He extended a fist bump and I said Thank you so much. I rarely feel inclined to write negative reviews but this is an unresponsive and discriminatory business. I had reached out to Darryl earlier this year and he was very accommodating on the phone- promising to give an estimate, provide a good price, and call back. However after sending requested information like pictures of the car and the VIN number, I never heard back. Now over 5 months later, I decided to try again thinking that my request was possibly overlooked. When I called earlier this week, Darryl again promised that he would call me within the same day and never did- even after I acknowledged that I did not hear back from him in the past. It is apparent that my request for services has been ignored and declined for reasons that have not been communicated. I also noticed that there were a few others that posted a review with a similar experience a few years back. This makes me feel like this business is bias and unprofessional. Darryls Collision Center is very good it's a gem here in the east bay. I was randomly rear ended on the freeway that did minor damage to my rear bumper. The guy who hit me and I decided to not get insurance involved and he worked out a deal with me to take it to his friend who is a auto body shop owner. I was a little skeptical about the whole thing but I decided to roll the dice and go with it. I dropped my car off Wednesday evening and one of the employees " I'm bad with names I want to say Luke" was there and explained everything to me and showed me their work and I was amazed on the detail these guys put in and how Courteous and cool this employees..I knew these guys where hella cool at this point..Darryl spoke to me and had my car out of the shop Saturday evening and he came down on his own time when he was closed and my car looked completely brand new when he drove it out. It looked completely newer than ever and the bumper in the back were I was hit was all sparkling shiny brand new. The inside was all detailed, cleaned vacuumed and completely cleaned. The car looked brand new I was not even remotely prepared to think how above and beyond he went for all this. Ok... let me start by saying.... hardly ever...I think this is my first time actually , writing in with a very negative experience . Found this shop through Yelp.... showed a lot of custom body wrk. Got my attention. Came down right away...met Daryl.... seemed like a cool cat , right away we hit it off... he seemed to like my ride..... showed to be very enthusiastic . Immediately started discussing a bunch of wrk I wanted to have done to my ride . He was psyched ! I wanted him ti do a small project first....for 2 reasons....1 to see how he wrks , the 2nd had a big car show coming up. Needed a quick custom repair. No problem.....absolutely no problem he told me exactly what he would do said simple take less then a day. Sweet looks like I found me a new A. B. guy close by as well. Excellent . Brought my ride to him on that Min as he requested, planned on picking up after wrk . After wrk not ready..... please just give me 1 more day...it will be done tomorrow. No prob ... dude next day after wrk showed up, ride sitting outside.....no wrk has been done . He took his time coming out to talk.... dodnt think he wanted to. Said ok i can take it , he made a pattern..... brong it back in couple days for install . Mind you 6 inch piece of metal painted and attached.thats it. He just shrugged me off..... Took him 2 whole days.... to trace the shape with paper.... WTF ! CALL HIM UP 3 DAYS LATER SAY IM BRINGING MY RIDE.....he says no....not ready yet hell call me. I tell him I need done asap for car show....which he knew the whole time. He said ok..... ill call you at the end of the day , today is Friday .... 4 days later no call. Luckily I had a real Auto Body do the job....no problems . I dont get it...I had some big money coming his way...not only with me but 2 older brothers with wrk as well..... everything was cool...... he just flipped like overnight. Don't take any kind of car to this guy if you want it done right. At first he told the car would take 2 1/2 months. After almost 9 months I finally got my car back only to fInd out that the base coat never dried before he sprayed the clear so what I ended up with is a paint job that is soft and will never harden. Now the car needs to be striped down to bare metal again and repainted again. The work is substandard for the price that is asked. I would stay as far away from this business as possible. read more
