Fair warning, I know very little about car window tinting, but now I know a bit more than I used to thanks to Darth Shader. I got a new car in January and it was extremely hot inside, to the point that my phone would warn me it was shutting off certain features if I left it on the passenger seat while driving with the AC on. I came here many times, and can attest to the quality of work done by DarthShader. That being said I have come here since 2004 and that was when DarthShader did a car service bringing the business to your home. My 2006 Chevrolet Impala STILL has the original tint from 2006, prior to that it was my 2005 Malibu EU Body style, and my (was my father's) Ford Mustang 2004 (removal and install), ex-wife 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse (removal and install), and my grandma's 2006 Buick she did. As I sit and read these comments I will attest to a few things. Her "rudeness" only comes from one of 3 things. 1) Calling her to wake her up after missing an appointment you make and she obliges to come don't expect her to be happy (I wouldn't be). 2) Showing up under-balling her quote to do your car with quality material and her hard earned labor. 3) Calling for a quote and then hanging up when price isn't what you expect or trying to low ball. Time is money, and doing this only degrades or devalues someone's worth. Prices vary based on vehicle year and make/model, material you want, and optional features/packages. You're not going to get the same price for a truck as you will with a car, home, mobile home, tractor trailer, or SUV. I have personally experienced #1. I too am grumpy when I first wake up. As you read the reviews on here, you can clearly see the negative ones have NOT had service on their vehicles. Thus they cannot compare nor begin to rate the "Service" provided. They want a steak from a sub shop. Not going to happen. All 6 of the people I referred here, 4 of which are friends, and 1 co-worker, and 1 relative all are thrilled by her service as well. Most of the complaints here are those that order wings from a gas station. Bad idea I admit I shop around also. But once I find the right place I stick to it. Just like I drive past 4 BWW restaurants to go to the ONE I like cause that's how I am. Quality over quantity. Sharon is amazing she did a fantastic job she's incredibly friendly and I am amazed at the heat blocking quality of the ceramic tint she uses. I have never before experienced it, but if you really want to understand it have her do the demo with the heat box and you will see. I am amazed at how much cooler the inside of the car is and how much light is being blocked. My son is no longer crying about the sun in his eyes and my air conditioning does not have to work as hard. Sharon was on time, kind, friendly, very professional, and she knows her stuff!!! She even let me blather on while I could tell she was trying to concentrate, LOL and she was very nice about it! This is truly worth every single penny and will end up saving me in the long run for things like gas -because the more you run your air conditioner the more gas you burn- and the compressor and the cooling system of the vehicle will not be taxed as hard. Recently took my car in after having my wife's tinted with the ceramic window films. Great response time when I reached out for an appointment. Office is clean and Sharon was sure to wear a mask the entire time in light of COVID so you can feel safe going to drop off and pick up your vehicle. The demonstration of the heat blocking of the different ceramic films is impressive and we know how well it works since my wife's care was done by her a few years ago. I had my entire 4Runner done with the XPEL higher grade including the sunroof. It's a little more money but the way it keeps the vehicle cool and was applied perfectly makes it worth it to get the higher end product. The films in my wife's car have held up perfectly over the past 3 years without any bubbling and it keeps the cool while looking good. Not only have we had both of our current vehicles done at Darth Shader but I've referred friends who have had equally good experiences. HIghly recommend Darth Shader. We called to set up an appointment with Darth Shader and the call was answered quickly (although, she does the office work and the actual work herself, so it's possible she may have to call you back, fyi). Not only did we get an appointment the same week, but she told us all about her products while we were on the phone so that there were no surprises once we arrived. Finding the location was a bit tricky (it's in an area with limited parking and lots of small businesses), but once we found it, we were greeted promptly. She showed us all the different products she had to offer and the different colors and prices. We opted for the premium tint option, and she even gave us a little discount on our sunroof for doing so. A tip that I wish I had known was to have your car detailed (or do it yourself) prior to coming. I didn't think about it at the time, but any extra dust (or in my case, pet hair) that gets disrupted during installation could cause issues. Luckily for us, we haven't noticed any little fibers in the tint. We left our care in her car around 1pm and picked it up later in the early evening. At first, the windshield was super bubbly (she said it would be the first day), but by day 2 it was much better and by day 3 it was perfect. The difference in the way our car feels since we added the ceramic tint is amazing. It's the summer in central Florida and the car is all black everything... always super hot. It's not cold in the car when you get in it after being in the sun by any means, but it's not painfully hot anymore. My only complaint is that I didn't get this done sooner! Cannot express how great of customer service and product this establishment displays. As a young woman I have had instances where individuals have tried to scam me before or have brushed over details, however, Sharon was able to answer each question that I had and did not mind taking a good 40min extra to go into more details on her product. I was able to express how I wanted a darker shade of tint, however, I don't have the greatest eyesight at night and she was able to work with me on locating a tint shade that would work with my needs. I had my car windows tinted by Sharon in early May. I've never had car window tints on my car before and I had an incredible first experience with Sharon and her shop. Over the phone before I visited the shop Sharon was courteous and thorough. When I got to the shop, Sharon guided me through her different tint options and gave me enough information for me to make an educated decision on my choices. I ended up doing the full package on my Mazda and I waited in her small waiting area that she has. Sharon did explain a couple times that it may be best to not wait in person for my car because it does take some time, but she was also understanding that I had driven a long way from Davenport to get my car tinted so she was incredibly hospitable and allowed me to wait for my car there (I brought my own snacks/drinks, a book, and some headphones). At one point Sharon came to let me know she had been delayed after noticing a small defect in one of the windows so they were restarting the window. I appreciated this because it let me know that she understood that my time was also valuable, but also showed me that she truly stood by the quality of her work and that she wanted the cars to look absolutely perfect. After completing my car we walked outside and Sharon allowed me to visually inspect the tints and see how it all looked together. She also gave me a rundown about how to care for the window tints, including cleaning products to use and how to allow the tint to settle in the upcoming days/weeks.
