We stopped in here for a drink. It's small and intimate but they were able to accommodate us. It's a decent wine selection but a bit pricey. read more
This romantic wine bar is located in the westend of Galway, away from the touristy town center. They had quite a selection of wines. I came on a Sunday night with a reservation and I'm glad that I did as people with reservations were turned away. I had the sourdough, burrata/squash and monkfish. The food was a delight. I left before it was getting buzzier, but it seems to be a hit amongst locals and tourists alike. I would highly recommend for a fun, flavorful and boozy night. read more
Daróg was probably THE best meal I had my entire time in Ireland. A lot of people talk about Cork being the foodie capital of Ireland, but Galway really surprised me in the best way starting with Daróg. As the name would imply, the place offers an incredible selection of natural wines. The food menu uses fresh, seasonal ingredients so I'd recommend perusing it in advance since it changes frequently, from what I could gather. I sat at the bar this particular night. My one qualm about Daróg is their bar seats. Let's just say they're not really made for people with hips on the wider side and I felt a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, everything was spectacular. The bartender, a very nice but serious man from Germany (I learned), had incredible recommendations and judging by how spot on he was, I would trust him with my life. The kingfish crudo was the best bite I had during my ten day trip. The pork chop almost outdid the kingfish. The oysters were good as well and the presentation was beautiful. I even made a friend at the bar and she agreed to eventually split the steak tartare with me. She revealed that she used to be vegan and red meat, especially RAW red meat, is not something she would've ever considered eating before but she loved it. That's how good that steak tartare was. I would come back a thousand times if I could. It is well worth the price and I highly recommend anyone in Galway check it out. read more

We had a variety of tapas for dinner and days later we are still talking about it. The chef has such a unique twist on each item. I've had delicious food before, but this is at least in my top 5 meals I've ever had. The staff was amazing as well. They made us feel at home and were so helpful. I can't recommend this place enough! read more
