    Brat trio app
    Julia T.

Comfy, cozy, and the food was so warm and filling. We shared a brat trio and the pork roast and everything was SO good! It was empty during lunch time this day but the service was great! Attentive and great recommendations. Definitely hit the spot on a cold day.

Swiss Schnitzel with mashed potatoes and gravy. So tasty!

Looking for a solid Rueben sandwich? This is your spot! Authentic German food, and beer, the ambiance inside brings all the nostalgic feels to the surface. The cheese curds were an excellent suggested starter from our waitress! She then helped guide to the Swiss schnitzel, but stayed the potato soup could pair as a side. I chose the mashed potatoes, and was so satisfied with the gravy flavors! Loved all the German touches with beer stein decor, German hats, a Black Forest feeling, including a hidden fairy garden at the entrance. Beer boot lighting gave the space an extra kick of fun, and generous seating options made it feel cozy, but also comfy cushions gave it a sense of "home". Definitely recommend if you're in Norman for an SEC game, student at OU, or simply passing through and want a nostalgic and excellent meal.

    German Chocolate Bread Pudding
    Courtney T.

Affordable restaurant option in Norman, OK located close to campus! The cheese noodles was delicious-homemade spaetzle with aSwiss cheese sauce with an added sausage. My boyfriend enjoyed the Wiener schnitzel but wasn't a fan of the brown gravy and spaetzle, especially after he tried my dish! The goulash soup tasted more like a beef stew then goulash. It came out at the same time as our meal and my boyfriend felt rushed to eat it so his entree didn't get cold! German chocolate bread pudding was great! There's little pockets of chocolate sauce in the bread pudding which is always a win! Beer flights are super inexpensive- like $4 for 7 samples! My boyfriend was in heaven!!

Really big menu with lots of options. No photos so be sure to ask the server if you don't know what something is. They're pretty friendly and we went with a group of regulars so it was a riotously good time. Salad - average, not much to write home about. Spezi rum cocktail - Spezi is a German orange cola soda. Yummy! Rainbow trout - Pan fried for a good crisp edge but still buttery and juicy and oh so good. Very flavorful fish and a very generous portion, they gave me 2 filets which is kind of crazy. The rice is also very delicious. Spaeztl - served with butter and brown gravy as a side. They also have an entree version with cheese but I liked the simplicity of this version. Nice depth to the gravy and good texture on the noodles with a bit of springy bite. Not my favorite but decent. Chocolate dessert wine - a shot glass of not too sweet chocolate dessert wine that made me want to get more into dessert wine. Bread pudding - some kind of bread pudding dessert that was enormous and creamy and delicious and best shared with a few people after the giant meal we all had.

Inside you are met with German beer garden vibes. You smell their locally brewed beer and see the big wood tables. They have big portions. Fun fact: You can get married here. Ask the staff for more information

The bread was fresh, the salad with pickled cucumbers and green beans was refreshing. My schnitzel plate was hot and crispy, and I couldn't decide on just one side so I got two- the German potato salad and red cabbage. I loved both. Kind of wish I would've added the sauerkraut too though. Lorenzo got the sampler plate with a little of everything, and I heard zero complaints from him. He even loved the homemade curry ketchup. But I think his favorite was the giant mug of German Dunkel he got to drink. The girls loved their kid schnitzel plate too. We could t leave without dessert, so we grabbed a lemon streusel cake to go. The best part was the atmosphere and staff though. The longer we sat, the more restless the kids got. The staff told us they had a kid's section with toys and a play tent that the girls were welcome to. They went from bouncing off the walls to not wanting to leave. I can't believe it took me so long to try Mutti's, but now I can't wait to come back!

The Chili Cheese Dog with fresh, raw onions (as foretold by the cheesy appetizer) was dense and flavorful, maybe the best no-frills chili dog in Oklahoma. My picky 13yo ate his first First Fried Apple pie with a slice of vanilla. His eyes got really big, and the plate was clean in an instant. The big treat, though, is the full-quarter slice of Poor Man"s "Pecan" Pie made with oats, not pecans. Served hot with a perfect slice of vanilla ice cream (yes, it's a tray-cut square) with a perfect crust -- This may be my favorite dessert ever, in the whole wide world. Of course the whole wide world needs more innovative classic food stops like this on Route 66. Also, ask to see their fire-surviving copy of Eternal Route 66 by Chuck Williams, an ironic souvenir from a prior iteration of The *eternal* Rock Cafe. If you're a fan of Sally the blue Porsche from the Disney Pixar movie Cars, ask to meet the owner, Dawn. She *might* tell you her story that inspired the sweetheart sports car, and John Lasseter, Pixar's chief creative officer is happy to confirm when visiting with memorabilia gifts that decorate the cafe.
