Upon arrival, I was of course given a stylist who could not speak any English. After another stylist worked to communicate between us what I wanted for the haircut and color (thankfully I brought photos), I then sat for a hair cut (trim up my long bob) and "balayage" The prices on the website are apparently not correct - I was charged about 250 euros for a haircut and balayage that looked absolutely NO different than my hair before the balayage. If I had taken a before and after photo, you would not be able to tell the difference what so ever. They took advantage of me and decided to - without asking - give me a hair mask and another treatment while they did my hair - which are both an additional cost! They never mentioned they were doing these additional treatments or asked my permission. I would have declined this if asked in German or English (I can understand German fine, just preferred an English speaking stylist as that's my native language). I had prepared to pay a total of almost 100 euros less as that is what I was quoted when I made the appointment, and when I went to pay I was absolutely SHOCKED at the price! They charged me for things I didn't ask for or agree to. My hair cut was nothing like what the photo I brought in looked like, and the balayage was absolutely unnoticeable. All of my friends asked me why I didn't do the balayage, but I did! They just couldn't even tell it was different. I truly felt taken advantage of and ripped off. I have never left a salon crying, but with Shag I did. For 250 EUROS I could have gone tot the nicest salons in Munich! Such a waste of my money. Please don't go here. There are sooo many more options in Munich better than this.

Instead of addressing each of my issues that I reviewed on a public forum as a response to the review, the owner or manager Thomas decides to continuously, in a series of messages, threaten me. Obviously this shows a serious lack of professionalism where a business owner threatens the customer privately if they don't get a positive review? This is called EXTORTION, and these actions say so much more than my words need to say.

I made the appointment online (really simple) and was able to find an appointment with Mel for the same day. The salon is really cute. The waiting area is this upstairs loft area and below are the chairs, mirrors, etc. Mel was great. I brought a bunch of pictures what I wanted (a "lob" aka long bob) and she knew exactly what I wanted. She's very easy to talk to, even in English, and very sweet. I definitely recommend this salon, especially to English only speakers. It's really scary to go to a new salon and have a language barrier but Mel made everything ok. She is definitely up to date with all the trends so you don't need to worry about getting a cut that will make you look like a soccer mom or something. Prices are reasonable. I paid about 70€ for the hair cut (I cut off about a foot of hair), which is about the same as what I paid in the states. I plan on going back to Mel in the next couple weeks to get a balayage done.
