Which is wild because we did not come in together and we all checked out a different times. She said they we should have just stayed at the subway and then moved on. We are all of age so it wouldn't have been a problem but the attitude she had with the last person was ridiculous. I have been to liquor stores many times and they only ID the people who are buying the alcohol. It's not our fault that you hate your life and your job. Don't take it out on innocent people who are just trying to buy some snacks. So rude and for no reason. I won't even be going back here again.

It's clean, well lit, busy & feels quite safe if you're a woman driving alone. There are tons of gas pump stations, both in the auto area & the big truck area. Lots of goodies, drinks & coffees are offered, both fountain and cooler bottled. So if you're in need of a caffeine boost on a drive you do on autopilot it's a great place to stop. The chain is very prevalent on the Eastern Shore (Delmarva Peninsula). It's known for its's excellent fried chicken, which I've never tried. Even if I still ate fried foods, it certainly wouldn't be something you want to eat while driving. :) Thanks for always being there when I need you Royal Farms.

I go to pull into the parking lot and it is completely a mess. This location was extremely busy and I was not really in the need to have to mess around much or I'd have a mess of my own. I go to pull into a spot to park and had to wait as a lady was messing around with the inside of her vehicle. I'm fine with that, but what I wasn't fine about was the guy who was going to back his vehicle out of his parking spot right into my vehicle. I did what anyone else would do in that situation, I laid on the horn. My intention was to get the attention of the guy who was about to hit me, which I did. However, that lady just stood there and stared. Like pick up the hint too and hurry the hell up since you are adding to the situation at hand. Your slow time with your car door open is holding up movement in the parking lot. Once she got moving I was able to pull, the guy was able to pull out, and then it was like opening a dam. Inside of the store was a bit of a mess with the amount of people here. I made my way to the bathroom and yikes, what a mess. So much so that I thought washing my hands was counterproductive in there. I browsed a bit for a drink and made my way to the register. If it wasn't for my need of another item this line would have been a breeze with the self checkouts. But, as always my luck, it wasn't in the cards. The line took forever to get through. My nerves were shot by the time I headed back outside. But it did give me a moment to destress and collect myself before getting on the road again.

The lady behind the counter was upset that she even asked so she took it back and gave her a new piece. But my mom had touched the chicken and this lady put it back with the other fresh chicken. Omg!! I was trying to tell her because I thought that was nasty, but she wasn't listening... Ugh. The mashed potatoes were the texture of rice somehow, they were overcooked. I told my mom to pick her battles and not complain. I don't mess with people making my food and this lady was clearly upset. My mom asked if the chicken was fresh and I think that's what started the whole uncomfortable exchange. The chicken sliders were good and the store was clean. I did notice a lot of stores in the area had fly problems. It was a swarm of flies hanging out in the bathroom like they were regulars, in the bathroom trash was running over, and it wasn't clean in there. They have several gas pumps, restrooms, food and drinks. The line moved quickly. But customer service just didn't seem to be a big deal to anyone. This wasn't the best Royal Farms I've stopped at, but they had what we needed. You'll pass 100 of them, so take your pick. Lol. All in all they could do better!!

I should have known it would be bad from the way the parking lot was so unkept. Empty cardboard boxes everywhere, piles of dirt and trash littered the parking lot and all the curbs and gutters. I have seen some bad royal farms but this one takes the cake by a mile. I'm saddened to see it in such a disgusting state. ‍
