    Pork Belly Kimchi Stir-Fry
    Anna H.

This crazy person was yelling in the restaurant as we started getting our food and valet had to call the cops but the food was worth the crazy experience. Good portions and so comforting at a great price point. Stir fry pork leans sour from the kimchi; tteokbokki "less spicy" was still solidly spicy but the chew was amazing. Oxtail didn't taste too beefy but was still very flavorful. They only let us get three rounds of banchan before they said we weren't allowed to get anymore????? Like is that not the best part of Korean food?? Chef Kang also has some other spots around Ktown and apparently he started as a mortgage broker / home cook according to LAT. It was empty at 6 and we were kind of concerned about it (because what popular restaurant is empty at dinner hour on Saturday!) but people started streaming in at around 6:30!

After a trip to Universal Studios with the family, we really wanted to eat something warm and after much Yelping this was the spot we decided on. Boy was it a great spot to stop by for dinner. Ordered: Army Stew $46- lots of sausage/hot dog, i wished there was a bit more ramen but thats because there was way more toppings than noodles in my opinion. I'm glad that they didn't charge a lot but gave less ingredients. Braised Short Rib $54- tender, a bit sweet, and be prepared to use your hands to grab the ribs. Prices are a bit high but its big and sharable. And unlimited banchans, although I was a bit sad that they ran out of fish cake. My kiddos love fish cake and I had to be the bigger person to let them be the ones to eat it. The cucumbers were delish and the staff cooks the food for you and serves you. I definitely see myself coming back here. I really enjoyed the food and so did my husband. Everything is well seasoned and fully packed/loaded. This Yelper gives this spot 2 thumbs up. Tips: *Private lot shared with other businesses (valet) or street parking. *Credit card accepted *Restroom available. *Great for big or small parties. *Staff speaks limited English and Korean. *They charge for to go boxes. *18% gratuity is added to parties of 4+. *Happy Hour 7 days a week 2-5pm for alcohol *No white rice only purple rice

There's been a new sign out here for the past two weeks saying that they got a new chef and the food is even more delicious, so I tried it again. 1. The panchan is so much better than it was. Significant improvement here, but not as good as the original panchan set. 2. The seaweed soup, they put bone broth in it, and that combination gives it such an amazing flavor. It's sooooooooo good! The meat has all of the flavors soaked into it too. The new chef is amazing! Service is still great. Ambiance still cozy. Worth coming to for sure.

Decided to have dinner at this spot after doing some online shopping at the coffee shop upstairs in the same outlet. I was drawn to this restaurant because of the older folks eating inside, I was craving some comfort soup, and might as well eat here since my car was already parked in the lot. Restaurant itself was clean, and it looked pretty new. My husband and I were seated immediately. The servers were super sweet and attentive. I ordered the ugly galbi tang (yes, it was called ugly galbi tang), and hubby ordered the bowl of korean pho. LOL. I liked my galbi tang. I thought it was gonna come out ugly, but it wasn't too ugly. We noticed that they were SO GENEROUS with the meat portions in both my galbi tang as well as hubby's pho. He said he wished he ordered another soup instead tho (the noodles, in his opinion, were overcooked). My soup was decent - not too salty, almost on the blander side, but could just add some salt/pepper and it's fine.

Korean Restaurant I highly recommend! First of all, portions are great! And to top that off, they taste amazing. I got the bulgogi combo with nangmyeon and both were very tasty and rich with flavour. Also got the gochujang stew and it was very spicy refreshing! Very clean indoors and friendly staff. Parking is available on sote but valet

Wanted to try this place after having a great dining experience at the sister restaurant HanEuem. My friend and I both had the Beef Rib & Baby Cabbage Soup and you could tell they take their bone broth seriously-simmered for a long time to get that rich taste with the meat falling off the bone. It tasted like a comforting home-cooked meal. Servers were friendly and attentive. This place is definitely a place to try for some good Korean soup

Located in the middle of K town with very limited parking spaces available. You may have to find street parking with a short walk. The restaurant was clean and with indoor seatings only. I dont think you want to sit out with some meth heads lingering around...(sadly). For the starter, they bring 6 small appetizers. Very good kimchi and I'm not a kimchi fan. The food was freshly prepped, served in hot stone bowl. All the orders were served within timely manner. I thought the soup was very delicious and delightful. I really enjoyed it. The price was not too bad. Very competitive for what you are getting (quality food). I would give this place a 4.5 out of 5. Will visit again.

I can't stop thinking about the food at Dasom by Chef Kang! The pork belly kimchi stir fry was packed with flavor. The perfect balance of spicy, savory, and a little tangy from the kimchi. The pork was tender and caramelized just right. But the real star was the braised short rib beef soup...so rich and comforting, with melt-in-your-mouth short ribs and a deep, flavorful broth that blew my mind! If you're in Koreatown and want authentic Korean comfort food, this is the spot!!!

As someone who loves Korean food, Dasom LA is definitely up there in quality with the other Korean food restaurants around, if not even better than them. Parking can be limited, a moderate size lot for free parking, valet in evening but gets filled up pretty fast. Parking spaces are a bit tight as well compared to other lots, street parking is advised if crowded. Upon entering, we were immediately seated and placed our order. Inside is pretty spacious with plenty of seats for all sizes of parties which is nice, clean interior is also a plus for this restaurant. My wife and I ordered two of their flavorful broth soups that was clamored with wagyu flavored. Both soup dishes were super flavorful, not super salty, and very much a comforting vibe to the dish. Both were very well made & consists a nice balance between the broth & the meats. Service was pretty good as our server checked in many times throughout the meal and the side dishes were delicious as well. Love the high quality soups & will be back to try the other menu items another time.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. No wait time and was seated immediately was greeted by the staff. The menu consists of a lot of modern Korean dishes, including stews, beef dishes and much more. The restaurant is very modern and clean with a lot of tables for ample seating. The food was delicious. They gave a lot of side dishes which were delicious. Price wise it is pretty average to any other Korean dishes around the area. So no surprise there. Will be back. Parking is a hit or miss. They have a lot but gets filled up quickly and they have street parking option.

Delicious. Been here twice, I swear the korean pho is my fav. But then I tried their beef brisket soup too which is also good but the pho was much better imo. Loved the banchan, all flavorful and delish. Bossam was nice and tender! Plus the banchan cubed radishes were excellent & addictive! Their seafood pajeon was good too!

Went to a Dasom with my husband & his friends we could order a lot All the foods were delicious and not too spicy. And it's really good price. It's been a while since I came, and apparently the chef's changed... (not chef lang any more) but the ssambap with gang-doenjang is still my fave. You don't see that at a lot of places, so bonus points. The restaurant quite big, good for family dinner. valet parking at evening time.

    Hot Stone Bibimbap
    Sophia U.

Came here on a Monday night for a solo dinner date. It was pretty empty, so the food came out pretty fast. I got the hot stone bibimbap that came with the sauce on the side so you can add as much as you want! The bibimbap was so good and it's probably the best I've had in a while! It was a good portion since I could only finish half and had to take the rest to go. Good selection of banchan too. Only downside is they charge $0.50 per to go box and it's $4 for valet.

What seemed like a deceptively simple bowl was one of the most delicious and flavorful meals I've had - I'll be thinking about my bowl for a long time. It penetrates the noodles and potatoes well. The broth is similar if not the same between most bowl types. The cold noodles were also delicious, which a couple of my friends ordered. Quite large portions, as just about everyone had to take some home. They also have bibimbap if you're craving a rice based meal instead. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.

We enjoyed the Large Beef Combo. There were 5 of us, but my grandaughter is a vegetarian. The meat, all the sides, the service, the atmosphere, everything was perfect. As for my grandaughter, she found plenty to eat that allowed her to enjoy the experience as well. I would recommend Ahgassi Gopchang to everyone. At least try it once. You will keep coming back.

We ordered the set menu, and the quality of the meats was a bit mixed--some cuts were excellent,…read morewhile others were just okay. The service, however, was outstanding and definitely one of the highlights of our visit. If it's your first time visiting, finding the entrance can be a little confusing. We parked on the street and spent a few minutes trying to figure out where to go. For anyone visiting, it's much easier to enter through the parking lot, where the restaurant entrance is located. The banchan (side dishes) were quite good, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere inside. The decor was fun and unique, making the dining experience feel more special. Overall, the food was good, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was enjoyable. I'd come back, especially for the service and the overall experience.

We came on a Saturday and walked in just after 12 noon before the lunch rush. Valet parking right in front. The banchan spread was solid - potato salad, kimchi, cucumber, bean sprouts, fish cakes, and so much more - all fresh and tasty. The meat was premium quality - beef brisket, pork belly, steak, shrimp, beef hotdog, and others. Why did that hotdog taste so good? High quality ingredients across the board. I came hungry and left beyond satisfied. Service was stellar, the staff cooks for you and everything was cooked to perfection. They were attentive and quick. Ambiance was busy, energetic, people clearly enjoying their meals. I love this place and will absolutely be back. Heck, maybe even tomorrow. Love this place!

My boyfriend raved about this place, and it definitely didn't disappoint at all. He dropped me off…read moreso that I can join the waitlist. I was informed that it would be about a 45 minute wait. My boyfriend found street parking after circling around a few times. I think it ended up being a 50 minute wait til my name was called. The place was popping and full of full enjoying their food. They would turn up the music or it was a specific song to celebrate someone's birthday. It can be really loud. We were seated at a table at the corner which was very cozy. Service here is both attentive, but sometimes you still need to wave at them to get their attention. I remember that our server was already walking away while we were still talking to him a few times. I get that they're busy, but it's a little annoying if I'm ordering and you're walking away from us. The server would help us cook the meats on our grill, which is different for me as we don't have that in the Bay Area. It was nice and helpful. The food was delicious. We also got the peach soju cocktail, which we loved! It was lightly sweet and refreshing. I would definitely still come back because the food was yummy. :)
