After working with DASPIT LAW FIRM, I honestly believe that I should have been the one getting paid. The amount of time I spent tracking down answers, chasing updates, and basically managing my own case was impressive-even by legal industry standards. Maybe I should have invoiced them for "client case management services," since I seemed to be the only one doing the actual work. If the firm put half as much effort into their clients as they do into their marketing, they might be worth their fee. But based on my experience, I'd suggest they invest some of that settlement money into the professional development courses they so clearly need. Strap in because this is going to be a wild and frustrating ride... So, my initial car accident happened October 26th, 2022. This law firm has been hard to get ahold of, they kept tossing me from attorney to attorney and are EXTREMELY misogynistic. Since the start, I've documented everything. On 4/18/24, Jared Capps (the main POS in this) called to introduce himself --- mind you, this had been after months of trying to get ahold of ANYONE from the firm; to then then abruptly end the call saying, "Sorry, sweetie, I gotta take this," and never followed up with me... until I made a negative review. (It's like their 'bat signal' except, they don't help) On 4/7/25 ("mitigation day"), I was excluded from the Zoom call with the mitigator. I had texted Jared if I should stay on the zoom call since no one was there, and he proceeded to call me and say that he + the mitigator are both working on the "biggest case the firm has ever seen!" and that our originally planned $250K claim was now $89K a.k.a "the best I was going to get," but he ASSURED ME he would have me walk away with about 40K. I was tired of fighting with these people and needed my car fixed, so I agreed. Fast forward to August, I go to pick up my settlement check... and they try handing me 17K. And while yes, I understand that is still a lot of money. But when your back is permanently messed up from a 5 car accident, AND you don't even get half of what you were promised... it makes you angry. So, I told them to hold onto the check for me while I figure this out. I get John Dipshit and Jared Cuck on a three 3 text message, asking them where the hell the rest of my money is. Johnny boy then proceeds to incorrectly spell my name, and state that I was "given an itemized list of where all the money went" and when I send them photocopies of the list they gave me (stating I should have at the VERY least 40K) then proceed to copy + paste the same message. They have me speaking with multiple different paralegals who just happen to just start this new position. Weeks on I made around 30 phone calls, left messages with the front office, and have not been been able to get a response or update on my case. In August 2023, my mother recommended this law firm. Although she referred me to her lawyer, Yantel assigned me Gary Saunders, who helped me find treatment for my injuries. In November, after a month of unreturned calls and emails, Yantel informed me that Gary was no longer with the firm, but no one had notified his clients. I was then assigned William Morrison, who stopped responding after our first call. When I completed my treatment, my therapist assured me he would submit all the necessary documents to my lawyer. Despite this, I couldn't reach William, so I contacted Yantel again. She informed me that William was still with the firm and advised me to speak to his paralegal, Trish Pieratt. Trish then told me they were missing some medical bills from my physical therapist, who insisted he had already submitted them. After resubmitting the documents, Trish confirmed in late November 2023 that she had everything needed and scheduled my deposition for February. When I followed up in early February for a specific date, I received no response. Frustrated, I contacted another representative, expressing my dissatisfaction with the service. She promised to sort things out, and Trish called back, claiming she was still waiting on records from my physical therapist, contradicting what she previously said. After confronting her, she admitted she had the records since December but now claimed the missing documents were from my initial hospital visit, which I had already provided. Frustrated with the runaround, I requested access to my insurance submissions. Trish refused but gave me her cell number for updates. Despite this, in March 2024, she said they were still waiting on the first hospital document. At this point, I was overwhelmed and decided to give up on dealing with the case, as the car accident had already been a traumatic experience, and the law firm's inconsistencies added significant stress. In April, I contacted Trish again to inform her of another case that was having issues due to this case being open. This prompted Trish to finally schedule my deposition. She set it for May 14, 2024, with a run-through with my lawyer William on May 13, 2024, and provided me with times for both. On May 13, I waited for the Zoom link for the 3 PM run-through, but by 2:45 PM, I hadn't received anything. When I emailed William, I received an auto-reply indicating he had been out of the office since May 9 and wouldn't return until May 28. I then replied to everyone on the email chain asking for the link and clarification on who would be representing me. No one responded, so I called and informed the receptionist that I hadn't received the Zoom link for the run-through. I also texted Trish but received no reply. When Trish finally called back at 3:15 PM, she stated that my run-through was scheduled for 3 PM, despite it being past that time. She then informed me that William was out of the office and someone else would conduct the run-through and represent me at the deposition. The first person assigned didn't show up, so another person took over. Both the walk-through and the deposition on May 14, 2024, were handled well by knowledgeable and pleasant representatives. They informed me that William would submit all documentation and provide updates after the deposition. It is now June 3, 2024, and I have yet to hear from anyone. My mother, who referred me to this firm, also faced communication issues and wouldn't have recommended them if she knew it would be this bad. I lost my original lawyer and have no idea about the next stems or my current representation. I cannot recommend this law firm, as this experience has been unacceptable. Update- It is now october 2024, I'm still receiving the same experience. This law firm has already received payment from my accident in september and refused to return my calls. read more

My experience with this law firm has been so disappointing. The 3 lawyers I had to deal with were just so bad. I recorded my mediation because something was just off. After mediation I went to collect my own medical records because McAlpine made up a couple of doctor transcribed medical records and he had also lied about the eye witness. I went for months looking for past clients and did find quite a few. There cases were worked the same as mine. They were told the same things as I was told. I signed my settlement in March of 2025, and it is now 8 months and I have not received anything. The past clients had told me that they had all filed Grievances and they were all dismissed, and that this law firm were just scammers. It was the only reason I settled to see for myself. I am dealing with Robert Morse right now as my lawyer, what a joke. I have made a complaint to the FTC and the Texas Attorney's office. I have requested a criminal investigation because they are taking cases with no intention of ever going to court, that is illegal, and they are working straight off the settlement fees, and that is a conflict of interest. Please do your homework and do not hire Daspit. They have no empathy and don't care if you are hurting, they lie and lie and lie, I do not talk to them. If you need to sue them for malpractice, I will be happy to testify on your behalf. I have all emails and recorded mediation of how they talk to their clients. The only reason I know it's malpractice is I emailed some big law firms and this is what they said my case would be. I was shot in my home by a "stray bullet" from my neighbors son shooting down the street this law firm came to home the day after I got out of the hospital and I was on medication and told to sign a contract as they promised they would help w my healthcare and that I definitely had a case. After months of trying to contact them and begging them for help I had to get a Harris health in order to go to all the dr appointments I needed for my hearing and just checks as the bullets is still on my head. Still no help I reached out to another attorney who I was trying to hire. Now upon I had to tell Daspit I no longer wanted their representation only to afterwards find out even after they don't represent me they would be entitled to a high percentage of whatever the settlement would be so the other attorney couldn't represent me as after the percentage the new law firm would take even at a lower rate it just wouldn't be fair to me. So I went in Daspit law firm and explained everything to them and sign a new contract with them as I believed it was the only option. Ok I sign the new contract in there off and everything is fine. A year goes but they catch the guy that shot the gun and he goes on trial the DA ask me if I have an attorney in reference to compensation to me bc I got shot in the head and bullet is still there I say yes I have an attorney. Now I email the attorney who was over my case all this to keep them informed. Over the next year I call and leave message after message never a call back. So I go down to and go to the office after waiting a long time I get called into the same room I signed the second contract and Mr Micheal comes in and was very rude and talked to me like I was clinically insane or something and tells me I never rehired them never came back up there and the person I am saying I emailed doesn't work there anymore so they have no record if my emails. I have asked for all my documents on my case and they refused I was told they are boxed up stored bc i got shot in 2019. So yea I know I signed two different contracts with them. This law firm is a fraud. Since I signed a contract with them a month ago, they had the nerve to get angry because I asked them what have you done since I signed the contract? They had done nothing. They had not even talked to the company where the accident happened; this was 28 days after I signed the contract. I never heard from them again after the first meeting. They are a group of liars and SHYSTERS. The lawyer I met with forgot our first meeting at 10:00 a.m., he was still in bed; he apologized. I had to take more time and meet him in the afternoon, which he was 30 minutes late. I talked to John Daspit, one of their hubris airhead lawyers, who could not even give me a straight answer or quote the law. He gave me information that was the total opposite from what the original lawyer told me at the first meeting. That first lawyer signed me on and told me I had a case. Please do not waste your time, money, and case. I am now left holding the bag with doctors' bills from doctors they referred me to for my case as my legal representatives. The next day after my inquiry about their due diligence, they mailed me a letter telling me my contract was cancelled. I had to laugh! They were already cancelled. This firm is awful. It takes them days to respond to calls and emails, if at all. After a year and a half, I was told that the doctor who had seen me for my injuries was no longer with the practice and would not be available to testify at my trial unless he was paid $10000 to $15000 dollars for his appearance and testimony. My trial was supposed to be on Monday morning and they called and told me this at 3:30pm on Friday afternoon. I told them I still wanted to go to trial, then Mr Daspit himself called me and proceeded to tell me that this was all my fault because I had no common sense, and I would be lucky to get anything. He told me he would settle attempt to get a certain amount if he could get that amount would I give him permission to settle. I told him if he got the amount we agreed upon, which he did not get. He called me back with a lower amount and I told him that is not what we agreed upon and he called me a liar and started yelling at me and refused to let me talk. He said, "I will see you tomorrow" and hung up on me. The next day was Saturday and the day we were supposed to do trial prep. I drove an hour to their office, and no one was there but the IT guy. The IT guy called Zohra, who was supposed to be the attorney handling my case and she told him that they were no longer representing me. I went down to the 19th floor, to their other office and banged on the door until someone came out. It was a paralegal, and she tried to help me, but she said that in their records it showed settled. I told her I would not be signing any paperwork about a settlement because I did not agree to any settlement. I also called the office and left a message stating the same thing. Sunday evening Mr Daspit called me again and tried to bully me into settling. Called me a liar again and said okay well we have a plan to move forward with a settlement. I said you might, but I don't agree to it and it has been 5 days since I have heard from anyone. read more

i would never get involved with daspit law firm. their employees who are supposed to be lawyers have low level competence. my daughter was hit in the rear by an unlicensed driver for an electrical company who said he didn't see her because the sun was directly in his eyes. but when geico got a statement, he said nothing about the sun; he said he was only going 20 mph but caused $15,000 in damages. daspit law took the case which required her to go to their doctor for therapy and cortisone shots regularly to provide relief and secure their case. there were at least three different changes of attorneys that was strange which all seemed incompetent. the last one was jonathan webster? finally, after almost a year, there was a deposition scheduled for early this year but at the last minute had to be rescheduled by the defendant, so no deposition was made unfortunately for my daughter. my daughter passed away on february 21, 2023. i called jonthan to inform him of her passing. he said they would continue with the case but needed a power of attorney, which she didn't have; i am her mother and she has no husband or children. i called a couple weeks later to see what was happening and he asked about my daughter and how she was doing. i told him that i had informed him of her passing away a couple weeks ago and couldn't believe he didn't make note of that. it was a little upsetting to me. shortly thereafter, he informed me they would not be taking her case, after he said they would continue with it. i asked for her medical records of 10 months of shots, etc. since this could have been an issue with her tragic and unexpected death at age 56. of course, i have not received anything from them except for a certified letter releasing them from the case. first, he sent it in her name (she was deceased) so i didn't sign for it, as he told me, i was not his client. then, he resent to me with my name and i again refused since i was not his client. jonathan definitely needs some additional training, if he is to represent this law firm. very sad and disappointing connection and a waste of time. read more

during my case I had 3 different lawyers most kept quitting and moving to other law firms. My last one would take weeks to respond. Finally after two years of trying to get the case settled they finally did the negotiation was terrible it seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. After everything they could not even spell my name right on the check when I had told them multiple times the right way. read more
