However, it was extremely affordable and very clean! The kitchen looks like it was recently renovated and had granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Our unit was four bedrooms and three stories with plenty of room for the seven of us. The unit had everything we need (including more than enough towels) and the entire complex has free wifi. Sea Pines is great and I will definitely be staying there again! One side-note about the photos of the cockroaches... Yes, we did see a couple of dead cockroaches, but you're on an island in the south. There will be cockroaches. It's normal.

There is also a nice leather sofa in the property. Apart from these two things - please be very careful if you choose to stay here. We were conned by the ad. at Vacation Rental By Owner which stated the villa was immaculate. The word 'luxury' was also used in a different ad. Sorry to say that we wasted some 1400 dollars for a week's stay at this cockroach invested, filthy villa. The spare bedroom had a musty, mildewy odor. The bathtub was so dirty that I wouldn't have bathed a dog in it. The sink in the master bathroom had a long crack in it. The microwave oven had stains that were crusted on it. The last straw came when one night at a round 10 p.m. someone tried to open the sliding door that goes out to the back from the living room. My husband went outside to see what was going on. That was when both he and I realised that the lock on the door doesn't function! It looks as if you've locked it, but if you pull on the handle the door slides open! The other sliding door did not lock either. This is a serious security issue. I called the owner who couldn't have cared less, stating that we were in a safe place. She told us to find poles in a bedroom closet and place them down to keep the doors 'locked'. I told her about the bugs we had seen and she couldn't have cared less about this either, stating that we are after all in the Low Country! A glass in the kitchen cupboard had lipstick marks on it and a fork in the kitchen drawer had food on it. Luxury? Immaculate? I think not. False advertising, to say the least. We gave up on the place after just four nights. Too many bugs, and too many insecure feelings that someone had tried to come in. I requested a refund for the three nights we did not stay. Nothing, no response from the charlatan of an owner who is only out to make money.

The pricing was extremely reasonable (i.e., more affordable than the 3rd party car service that the Montage contracts with ). We booked for 8:30 am on a Sunday from the resort. Our driver Steve confirmed the morning of when he was on his way to pick us up and was at the resort by 8:15 am. Very spacious and clean black SUV. Also Steve was extremely professional as a driver during our drive from the resort to the airport. Our driver on the way to the resort was not. Suitable Transportation was a highlight of our weekend.
