Judi Shields was very involved with her personal life to adequately represent me. She was busy with…read morea family wedding and unavailable for days at a time and did not explain the addendum's she had me sign, costing me an extra half of a percent in commission. Additionally she left the country during the sale of the house and never told me that she was thousands of miles away for the closing. She said she had "other commitments and would be available by phone for the closing"! In fact, she was in a time zone seven hours ahead of Eastern Time and not readily available at all. She left Dan Metcalf in charge and if I called him, he would tell me that he wasn't the listing broker. The pièce de resistance was him leaving a message with the Title Closing Officer that I "wasn't nice" I have a photo of the message if anyone wants to contact me privately to see it. These people were supposed to be representing me! I had some questions the night before closing and instead of speaking to me, Judi & Tamar responded by threatening me with legal action accusing me of being in breach of contract if I didn't go to the closing in the morning. Gali, the supposed owner, left me a text message or email while I was driving to the closing asking if I was going to the closing and if she should come. I saw it when I arrived at the closing. I responded immediately that I was at the closing. She called a little while later screaming at me that her time was valuable and did I want her to come from Takoma Park to Rockville. I said I did. By the time she arrived the closing was finishing up. She did not say one word to me and no one from this group got in touch to even offer congratulations on the sale of the home. I strongly suggest that you look elsewhere for an agent. They are only interested in cashing your check

While I had the idea in my head for a long time, last year I found myself seriously starting to…read morelook at homes after feeling like I was in the right place financially and life-wise to take this step in my life. Brett and I knew each other growing up, and while we had not had contact in several years, I knew that he was a stand-up guy and I thought I would take a chance and engage him as my realtor as things began to get more serious. I knew from the horror stories of family members how these things can go wrong, and I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but hey...you have to start somewhere. Now I can say emphatically that this decision paid off in ways I could not imagine, and I was impressed beyond belief with the services that Brett provided during the time we spent looking for and eventually purchasing the home that is every bit as perfect for me as I could have dreamed. I had unique requirements. I was looking for something with some history, in a specific location, for the right price. Something within my price range that satisfied my needs and gave me some room to grow in a tough area to find that in. A very tough job...after some searching, less than I anticipated...we found it. I didn't expect to make an offer when I did, but Brett called to let me know that other offers were coming in, and it was now or never for this property we had seen and loved. When I decided to make an offer, it was Brett's advice and experience that structured my offer in a way that beat out two other sellers but without an unnecessary increase in price. We ended up coming in with an accepted offer that was only a touch above the nearest competitor. I don't know much, but in the real estate world, to me, that seems like threading a needle...especially in the area we live in. When I first engaged Brett, he was very upfront about the process, about what to expect, about how this works, and about the ways in which we would navigate this process together. As a first-time homebuyer, this stuff seems scary. His excellent communication and followed through with the selling agent, and followed-up at the perfect times. He demonstrated a willingness to live up to his end of the deal that won over the selling team quickly and made for a pleasant and meaningful transition from one owner to the other. I can say with no hesitation that through Brett's expertise, experience, and ability to work with others and win them over, that I got the best deal I could ever have possibly gotten.
