I visited this office for the first time and I was impressed at the beginning when one of the staff members took me first to get X-Rays, Panoramic X-Rays, dental photos, and lab to test for collagen all at the first time. Then I was received by the hygienist who checked my teeth to measure for pockets. He said I needed Deep cleaning. Then this doctor came in and showed me the XRays of the crowns(I have 2) and told me it needed to be removed to check for cavities and then replaced. Then she proceeded with the information saying if there are cavities in that tooth a root canal needed to be done. I was already so scared. (I am afraid of dentists due to past horrible experiences). I was injected around my lower left side of my mouth several times with another type of anesthetic because I have bad reactions to Epinephrine. She started to drill the affected crown to be able to remove it. It was very traumatic and she kept digging like digging for gold. She knew I was "jumping" on the chair several times when she was drilling because a nerve must have been touched. My appointment was at 2pm last Thursday (4 days ago) and left that office at 8pm, last patient! I have never been in dentists' offices where I had to stay 6 hours. I knew right there that I had made the biggest mistake of my life by going there. Well it was done. The hygienist was fine but he really wanted to get my teeth very clean because I felt his body weight on each of my teeth. He didn't injected me with anesthetic but used something similar which gave me a good break of no more injections on nerves. On Friday I had the rest of the Deep cleaning and it went well. I was still sore on the left side of my mouth. That night the electric shocks started on the left side of my face and inside my mouth. I knew as a Registered Nurse that something was done wrong. I took Tylenol, placed heating pads on the left side of my face and did some gargles with warm water and salt. It alleviated me. But on Saturday afternoon the electric shocks were covering my entire left side of the face and neck. I was desperate. I called this office and talked to Brian one of the front desk guys and asked him if I could talk to the Dr for few minutes. He took my phone number and put me on hold. He came back and he was told by the dentist for me to take Tylenol and make an appointment for next Monday. I was in pain, I felt miserable and this dentist didn't have the courtesy to get me in her office that day for a few minutes to check my crown? Wow!! I was tortured for 6 hours but she couldn't see me for few minutes or even talk to me on Szturday. I paid in full with insurance big time the first dzy I went there but it is not about the money, it is about respect to the patient in pain, be more compassionate and attentive to any side effects resulting from procedures. Tylenol was not going to solve the issue. What probably she was going to do was to inject me more, remove the crown to adjusy it or maybe do a root canal because just like that the tooth underneath got infected. More money, long hours of procedure. Nope. I absolutely do not recommend this place. I wished I would have read the revies before going there. The reviews are horrible. The experience that those patients went through were horrific. Read the reviews first and make sure you make a good decision. Davenport Modern Dentistry advertises dental emergencies but could not provide appropriate care for a medically necessary tooth extraction, even with insurance. I can't imagine being in this situation without insurance. I presented with severe pain and active infection. I was told treatment could not be scheduled for over a week and that a $200 deposit was required just to get on the schedule. Instead of care, I was essentially advised to Google other dentists. The dentist I saw prescribed additional antibiotics and pain medication, despite my clear explanation that these were already ineffective due to the level of pain. She also refused to perform a nerve block, stating it would "only last an hour" because of the infection. Later that same night, the ER performed a nerve block that provided hours of relief, directly contradicting that claim. Most concerning: the problem was ultimately resolved the same day by another dentist using local anesthetic to extract the tooth. No oral surgeon. No week-long delay. Just competent care. This experience highlights a serious issue in modern dentistry: some offices market "emergency care" but operate with payment barriers and limited clinical response when urgent treatment is actually needed. I would not recommend relying on this practice for true dental emergencies. read more

I would never recommend anyone to visit this office. They extracted a tooth and I wound up with dry socket. I went back to the office twice in one day in tears from the pain and they refused to help me both times. The office manager gave me an ice pack and told me all they could do is prescribe stronger pain meds after I told her I was in recovery for 15 years. I had to go to emergency dental and paid $350 out of pocket to get any kind of pain alleviation. I can't believe they wouldn't help me. I've had for the most part received good care from them. The office staff has been friendly and professional. However, I did have a bad experience when getting a root canal and this review is about that experience only. While getting the procedure, something (probably one of the instruments being used) kept hitting my front teeth. I raised my hand letting her know I was uncomfortable. Did she ask "are you ok?" or "what's bothering you?" Nope. Instead she said "there's nothing I can do about the vibration." That wasn't even the issue. After she was done she just left without even asking how I was feeling. Not even a "have a good day and let us know if you experience any issues." This woman Alexandra Saab was unpleasant and showed zero empathy. I was taken aback since until that day, my experience with them had always been positive. If I ever need another root there's no way in hell I'd allow this woman to work on my teeth again. read more

I went to this office on an emergency basis for an infected tooth in March 2026. Was told initially that it was a cracked crown that needed to be replaced. After spending over 1200 dollars, with insurance, to replace the crown, and spending another 2 days in extreme pain, I was finally diagnosed with an infected tooth and was told I needed an extraction, which I agreed to. However they then tried to sell me a bone graft for an additional 700 plus dollars. When I politely declined I was made to wait and when the dentist injected me with the anesthetic, he did so in the wrong place, causing me extreme pain. As a physician, I understand how expensive it is to run a medical office. But when it is all about upcharging for unnecessary procedures at the expense of good patient care that is just wrong. read more

Made a last minute appointment here. Staff here were very pleasant BUT I will say all the scam comment about bone grafts are real. They told me they needed to pull tooth and needed a bone grafts that I wasnt even I have problems with... I told them I wanted to go home and think about it... the next day I went to another dentist for a second opinion and they were in shocked.. they said there was no infection or reason to pull the tooth... is till wanted a 3rd opinion to 100% clear my mind.. and of course no infection or reason to pull the tooth. read more

I was here to help my oldest kids partner get oral surgery. We were there a couple hours and all our interactions with the employees were very good. They were all friendly and courteous. They had several things taken care of all in one sitting which was very nice. After a couple days their healing is progressing really well. After this experience I would consider having my dental needs handled here. read more

This place is the worse place there could be out here. Do Not go here. I had a crown done and it felt off before I cross the street light I went back again and they "fixed it" and it felt off again about 45 later.(mind you, I hadn't eaten anything yet since I'm all numb up". They fixed it again and surprise,... off again in about 6 months. Buttttt..... I went there bc I had a tooth ache, it was very mild and he insisted on doing a root canal and a crown. He scraped my tooth off that same day and let it open for about 2 weeks "waiting for the temporary crown to arrived". Do not, under any circumstances, go to this dental office. It is the absolute worst medical office of any kind I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Every single appointment is messed up. Between scheduling a cleaning without an exam, cancelling appointments randomly, and "not having any record of an appointment," they will be certain to wildly inconvenience you. They cancelled my last cleaning because the dentist my appointment was supposed to be with wasn't there that day. Strangely they had cancelled the cleaning before that one too, for the exact same reason. These are both bookings I made months in advance. According to employee reviews on GlassDoor for SmileGenration, DMD's parent company, it is their regular practice to give dentists the day off if there aren't enough bookings. So instead of offering to reschedule me, they cancel my cleaning appointment, not once but twice. Employee reviews also state they are terminated if they don't make a certain amount of "upsells" each month to patients. Think about that -- your dental professionals are being told to sell you unnecessary services and they might get fired if they aren't successful. Do you really want them working on your teeth? This leads them to wildly overtreat all of their patients. They have recommended an "advanced cleaning" to me every time I've been there. Also, they regularly claim I need like eight shots of Arestin in various areas, which would cost a fortune. They claim this every time. In researching Arestin, the jury is still out on its effectiveness, and it is frequently used by dental office who like to overtreat and over bill. These dental charlatans talked me into getting Cerec veneers on my front two teeth as I had some calcium spots that I didn't like. To them, I was simply an upsell. I wish I had known that. I went ahead and told them to go for it. The dentist broke them trying to get them in, which led to me being stuck in the dentist's office until after midnight, yes midnight. Last year, one of my veneers broke. I spoke to someone on the phone who said it was under warranty, so I came in to have it fixed. One dentist couldn't get them to be the right shade and said I'd have to wait for the dentist who put them in originally to advise. So, I came back. That dentist (the owner) glibly told me that I'd have to pay and that he wouldn't do veneers. The only way forward would be crowns. I didn't want to do it, be he persisted. I ended up paying $870 for an appointment that I thought would be free. Fast forward six months and I receive a bill for over $500 for my crowns. Somehow, I owe them more?! So, I called my insurance. They said they couldn't determine coverage on one tooth because the dental office submitted insufficient x-rays and that they had reached out to Davenport Modern Dentistry to obtain better ones, however no one had responded. So, after three phone calls where I was placed on hold, then hung up on, I managed to talk to someone. They said they saw the note in the system from my insurance company and that they would resubmit my x-rays. That was nearly a month ago. I just talked to my insurance again and they said they have no new claims nor x-rays from Davenport Modern Dentistry. So, I've given up and filed a grievance with my insurance company. Hopefully they'll have more luck in getting this office to be responsible. In summary, this office is the McDonald's of dentistry. They're all clowns. Do not go to a corporate owned dentist (Smile Generation, Greenburg, Aspen, etc) they will take advantage of you, and they will bill you for anything they can. Please find a good private practice that is actually owned by a dentist, not a corporation bent on drilling your mouth for gold. read more

One star because I can put zero! On August 29th, I visited the dental office due to pain in my chipped tooth. I had been dealing with the pain for several weeks and decided it was finally time to see a dentist. Upon arrival, I was taken for x-rays, and shortly after, moved to another suite. The staff asked the reason for my visit, and I explained the ongoing pain, wondering what could be done as it was getting worse the longer I waited. The dentist reviewed my x-ray and pointed out the source of the pain. I assumed, like her, that it was from my chipped tooth. She informed me that I needed a root canal to alleviate the issue. I was hesitant because I knew that if my insurance didn't fully cover the procedure, it would be an out-of-pocket expense. She brought in a billing specialist to go over the costs. At the time, I could only afford monthly payments of $131, with a $300 down payment, totaling $1,400. Although I was upset, I realized I couldn't endure the pain any longer or risk an infection. I agreed to the payment terms. The dentist numbed the area and began the initial work. I put on sunglasses as she proceeded. Before leaving, I scheduled the root canal and follow-up, as root canals are only done on Tuesdays, and mine was set for September 17th. Over the next two weeks, I took the prescribed medications but continued to feel significant pain. During this time, I was taking both Tylenol and Ibuprofen 800. I even told my husband that the pain hadn't subsided. On September 17th, I completed the necessary paperwork and underwent the procedure. Everything seemed fine, but by evening, as the anesthesia wore off, I began questioning why I was still in pain. I told my husband I didn't notice any improvement and was still uncomfortable. On September 18th, I went in for the follow-up, where they were supposed to place the final crown and cement it. This time, I wasn't numb, and under the light's reflection, I noticed which tooth they were working on. I mentioned to the assistant that the pain wasn't coming from the back tooth but rather the chipped one. My gut told me they had worked on the wrong tooth. I felt like crying, I was so upset. I asked the assistant which tooth they were crowning, and she confirmed it was the last tooth. I told her they had treated the wrong tooth--the pain was from the chipped one, not the far back tooth. The dentist then entered and explained that both teeth needed a root canal. I told her that while both may need treatment, I specifically came in for the pain in my chipped tooth and made that clear during my initial visit. I asked what could be done to fix the mistake, and she said I would need another root canal on the chipped tooth. I was at a loss for words, I was so upset because nothing like this had ever happened to me before. She said they would go ahead and cement the crown on the other tooth and asked if I wanted to schedule the root canal for the chipped tooth. I replied, "No, I won't be scheduling that here after this." The only thing they could do was clean up the chipped tooth and prepare it for another dental office to handle the root canal. read more

Last week I had an appointment at 2pm for a root canal. I waited an hour only to be told it would be another hour. I rescheduled for today, March 11 , again for 2 pm. It is now 305 pm. And guess what I am still waiting. I have made to a room where someone comes in and asks if I need anything. YES I need a root canal. Well you met the doctor. Are you kidding me? AVOID THIS DENTIST!! I went specifically for a cleaning and to reinstall a crown that had come out (I had it with me). Crown was put in over 15 years ago. After exam dentist said I had infection and needed another crown right next to one that came out. (This is important). We discussed me getting the new crown and I said let's hold off, I'm moving soon. They cleaned up my crown and reseated it. The DH said it snapped back in and fit really well. Then she took it out to permanently install later. Had my cleaning. Then he gives me Novocaine (was wondering why just to reseat). Then he stared drilling the infected tooth!! Too late now. Then DH takes mold of tooth (w/o putting old crown in next door. 2 hrs later they put the new crown in. THEN tries to put in old one. Unsurprisingly it doesn't fit anymore and it's now broken. Since mold for new tooth was made WITHOUT tooth in place next to it. Crown breaks. Dentist says I waited too long to have crown reseated, that it doesn't fit anymore. It fit 2 hrs before! Then 2 days later, infection rampant in my mouth. Have to go back in. Dentist blames me for everything. Says infection is in the tooth w/o the crown- it was multiple. Crown didn't fit because I waited too long. Lie 1. I mentioned it fit before he molded the new one. He said the crown was no good. Lies 2&3. Gave me antibiotics but not enough. Didn't touch the infection. Fast forward 3 weeks. I've moved 1800 miles away. Unrelated- been sick 2 weeks eating soup everyday. BRAND NEW CROWN CAME OUT!! EATING SOUP mind you. Now I need to pay again to have 2 new crowns put in. Tooth he did is a nub- not sure they will be able to save. Will keep posted and Modern Dentistry will be hearing from me or my lawyer. My family has consistently gone to the dentist regularly- every 6 months for cleanings. We've been to 3 different dentists over the past ten years (one retired, we got a new dentist, then we moved and got a new dentist, new dentist no longer accepts my insurance....hence we end up at Modern Dentistry). Each family member had an appointment within the same week. We ALL needed crowns, deep cleanings due to early periodontal disease...about 3,000 later we are set. Worst dental experience I've ever had. Had my teeth pulled for full dentures. They put me under and I woke with bruises on my throat of 4 fingers and a thumb print. The Dr told my husband when he was done that that was his best time pulling that many teeth. It gets better....teeth that wouldn't fit in my mouth. Not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time. My teeth are junk. The metal to attach to legs have fallen out of the teeth and I go through an entire tube of glue a week to keep them in my mouth the dentist said that's the best he could do unless I wanted to start all over and of course pay for another set of dentures. I went to the new location on Hwy 27 on 7/3/24 & had the worst experience I've ever had. Dr. Sandra Figueroa was highly unprofessional with her racial innuendos that made me feel so uncomfortable that I requested a new Dr to finish my visit. I was brought to tears and I have never had this experience at the location next to first watch on hwy 27. She would benefit from a diversity & inclusion class. walked in and made an appointment for a regular filling of a chipped tooth....i was told we have more important issues on other side which I wasn't aware of...turns out they said I needed 2 crown totaling $4500 which I wasn't able to do...they said they could get me a credit card and put it on this,,,,they confirmed I could get this so I stupidly gave them the go ahead....6 hours in the chair with an allergic reaction to the gloves or the numbing injection which they apologized for..1 tooth completed..(crown inserted). next day another 6 hours......I was in too deep now to not come back...completed 2nd crown right next to first....still no filling for the original concern... 1 month later first crown falls out so I get an appointment to go back in...they said in hind sight they should not of done the work on the first tooth to such an extent as there wasn't enough tooth left to reinsert post into so they would have to do an implant for an extra $3,000... I refused and said it was their fault and they admitted it but would not do tooth for the $2250 already paid... long story short I still need filling on original concern, now a gap on other side where crown fell out but eventually they credited $2250 back to card which I'm still paying for @27% per year for the other crown which is still holding thankfully...disgusting treatment and should be closed down on grounds of theft, fraudulent activity and malpractice...lady in charge was so rude and just not willing to help out....Will see if they would like to rectify the problem...doubt it very much but think they should atleast try.. read more

I have gone to the dentist regularly- every 6 months for check ups, x rays and cleanings. We've been to 3 different dentists (one dentist before moving to FL 3 yrs ago, then we moved and got a new FL dentist, new FL dentist no longer accepts my insurance, Modern Dentistry accepts my new insurance so I made an initial appointment. The results of initial appointment is that I needed crowns, deep cleaning due to early periodontal disease...cost would be about $2500. Never had any issues before, my mouth is not bothering me, no gum bleed etc. I had a cleaning just 6 months ago by first FL dentist with no issues. When I explained that I couldn't afford these services at this time and would need to think about it, I asked to schedule my regular "included with insurance" cleaning and they refuse!! Absolutely feel like Extortion!! My advice -Stay away form this office. I am currently filing a grievance along with my dental insurance company ( recommended by insurance company ) because they are not supposed to work this way. My daughter went in for a simple extraction. They upsold her on a bone graph and a tissue regeneration. We do not have dental insurance but a dental discount plan. This procedure cost $750. Our discount plan charges $106 to pull the tooth they charge $250 the other items completed they offered a discount of $250 for each item. The office manager advised that they are unable to separate these items as they were done all at one time. When my son had his done they were able to do it. This is a is $144 difference that should have not been charged and explained at the time of service. This was on a Saturday so they could not tell what the cost was and now they will not honor the discount price as they say that it is billed all together. If you want to be upsold and pay more than what you should don't go here. Erin the office manager would not allow me to speak with her boss who she says is the dentist, but she would pass on my concerns. I have not had any issues with them in the the past and thought I found a great dentist where I felt comfortable. Well since they have made there office bigger I guess they need to overcharge patients to cover the costs of the new office. I still would like to voice my concerns to the owner of this practice. I had to go in the office as one of my Crowns fell out this is the 2nd time. It was placed in so fast that now it is not in correct. I have an appointment to get it fixed for the 3rd time. As I was in the office I spoke to a man about this and he was supposed to reach back out with me and still has not. I was in excruciating pain and called this am . They got me in and right away. She figured I had a dry socket from an extraction . dr. Yasmin and her staff could not have been any kinder and compassionate towards me and then when I went to pick up the pain medication at the pharmacist of course they said they had none in stock, and I had to call their office back and ask him to call it to a different pharmacy and they even called the check to make sure that they had gone through. I can't tell them how much I appreciate that kind of care and attention and how amazing it feels not to have that pain in the side of my head. I visited this office with my husband on Oct 24, 2023 and they requested full payment stating that my insurance United Health Care rarely covers the procedures. I agreed to make the payment and they will reimburse me. BIG MISTAKE!!! They never ran the preauthorization to my insurance only when I requested for them to do so, they did two crowns, and one requires more evidence for my insurance to make the payment. As of today, I have not received my refund, I had to go to their office because when you call, they placed you on hold for ever. Not a chance to speak to a human being. I love this dentist office! They're extremely friendly and kind from the receptionist girls up front to the hygienist Milerne, to the dental assistant Elizabeth and especially Dr. Mabry. Dr. Mabry is extremely kind and professional. She is caring and always makes sure that you are in great hands. I don't like going to the dentist but this dentist office is definitely one of the best ones I've visited. I've had deep cleanings done and a root canal and crowns done with no complaints. So happy to have a new dentist in the area AND they take Disney insurance! So happy! My wife and I got a mailer before they opened and made an appointment for both of us on the same day. She has a fear of the dentist and they took note. The office is brand new with all new equipment. I've never had so many xrays and pictures take of my teeth. They really showed everything! You can see them immediately on the screen. My wife and I were placed in rooms next to each other. There was a sliding door between us that they opened so we could talk. The whole staff was super nice and caring. They all stopped by to check in on us. We were there for quite a while, but we had everything done including deep cleanings. Most dentists want you to make a second appointment just for that. But they did it in one shot! I'm glad they've moved into the neighborhood! read more

I didn't have a terrible experience but I didn't have a tentative experience. The dental hygienist were great and very thorough. I was not impressed with the head dentist there. He seemed impatient to answer my questions. I have thought long and hard about writing this review but I just found it very off putting even after a few weeks so I feel it is deserved. I do not do this lightly. People need to know how they are coming across to others to improve their business. I know people have bad days and hopefully that's all it was. I was also told my wisdom teeth needed to come out. I could not give a date right then so I called later repeatedly and they never returned my call to schedule the surgery. So this makes me just want to go to someone else that is more tentative and will schedule such things timely when I have called more than 3 times to get it scheduled. read more

I've never written a review before. And I can say this one is not a good one. I had an appointment set for 12:00 and I came 30mins early to my appointment for the insurance information. They had to take it twice I waited 30mins for them to get back to me and it's already been over an hour and I still hadn't gotten seen by the dentist. As well as the two ladies in the front they were having a conversation over me like I wasn't there. Completely unprofessional and their genuine hospitality needs a lot of work. Update: would NOT recommend Davenport modern in posner park. I was there 6.5 hours. After really bad experience with pain, asked specific ? About how they manage that and anxiety. Was told oh yea! Totally our focus! Got there at 8am for painful tooth. I was crying! Dentist i had offered me ibuprofen (i am an RN) I had taken that with acetaminophen every 4 hours and said so. I sat in pain for 2 hours because she was pregnant and couldnt do nitrous. Though I specifically said i had a horrible pain experience prior. Finally got another dr at 10am. 4 hours later everything done i think. The tech didnt seem to know what she was doing. Very nice but took 6 tries to get a temp bridge. Novocaine wore off and i was in such pain. Called twice. Messaged also. So now i am up at 0445 because of the pain. My biggest fear. No pain med. Amd I took 800 mg ibuprofen amd 1500 acetaminophen. No relief. Also no antibiotic called in. I will get the bridge finished (5500 dollars??? Damn!) But will never go back for anything else. read more

Very disappointing customer care experience with the front office ladies. I made an appointment and gave my insurance information through the phone. This needed to be verified before hand. Once I arrived the receptionist told me that I didn't have dental coverage which I do and have used in the past. I explained I do have insurance through Delta. I actually have the high coverage option. Then they said they would cancel my appointment which I'm glad they did because this is not the care I'm used to receiving at a dental office. I can't speak about the actual "dental care" they offer because I didn't have the opportunity to meet the dentists so this review is not about them: it's about my customer care experience with the receptionists who clearly don't care about their customers. Someone more knowledgeable would have done a better job at verifying my dental coverage and finding solutions without making me waste my valuable time. read more

Horrible experience. I recently moved to Davenport and was looking for a dentist for regular cleaning. I've been going to a dentist every 6 months for cleaning. Since I had no pain, no bleeding, no gum issues, I wasn't expecting any surprises. During the evaluation, the dentist told me my teeth in general looked good, but I had 4 teeth with the gum being over 3MM and they required a "deep cleaning", without much thought I kind agreed, he then told me a person, responsible for finances, would explain the cost of the procedure, and so he did, the cost would be $1700 (nope! I'm not kidding - $1707 for a cleaning). I told him I couldn't believe it, and then he said if I bought the clinic's insurance, for $119/month, the cleaning cost would drop to about $700, unbelievable! In last 20 years plus, using 3 different dental clinics, I can't recall a teeth cleaning, including Xrays, costing more $200. My recommendation, to anyone, is stay away from franchises, mainly the Davenport Modern Dentistry one, stick to independent clinics, they are more honest about the services and prices, and avoid the same frustration I went thru. And the frustration wasn't free, it cost me $59 for the evaluation. read more

I'm under the belief that all these good ratings are from friends and staff members, I've seen it before. I'm checking for a new dentist cause the one I have now stop taking my insurance since I'm allowed 3 free cleaning a year. Ever time I went we were charged $107 family members to and I get free 3 cleanings I said and she smiled. So I thought about this place in I see they push the deep cleaning, I was 60 years old before I had my 1st deep and one year after the 1st they wanted to do it again I said no just regular, was told no so I took off the bib around my neck and said see you.
