My visit started with excellent service from Isaiah. Then a short wait and a bounty of hot, delicious food was served. I had the slider and fries and took home a couple tenders for dinner. The chicken was so tender, the outside was crispy and packed with spice and the potato roll was just the right size, flavor and density. Fries were perfectly crispy. The line outside can intimidating but it moves pretty fast! There's also the option to order online to skip the line. I came here with one ambition - to see if the reaper level chicken was what it was built up for be (I doubted it). The hottest chicken I've had is probably the howlin rays sandwich at the highest heat. They gave me gloves for that and Daves didn't so I thought at first it might've been a bluff. It's not. Its hot. It's hot like my stomach hurt the next day hot. Hot like it took me about half an hour to eat hot. Hot like people that I went with took a bit and started shaking hot. But luckily Molly Moon's is nearby for a slight amount of damage control (there's only so much you can do). But tastewise it's also excellent. The crunch is substantial but the chicken is tender, the fries are crunchy and soft as well, and everything goes great with Dave's sauce. Now that the opening week hype is starting to die down, this place deserves a visit. The chicken comes in two forms. Either as a slider, which will feature a bun with a bit of kale coleslaw, or it will be a tender, served with a slice of white bread. Pickles included either way. It's Nashville-Hot style chicken. Which means the heat will be in the form of a dry rub, which can come in a rainbow of different heat levels. And it's pretty darn good! Worth waiting an hour or more when the line is wrapped around the block? Absolutely not. But absolutely worth checking out on a reasonable business day. And for those interested in truly testing their spice tolerance, the Reaper chicken is absolutely not to be taken lightly. You have to sign a waiver that prints out with your receipt. Spice thrill seekers will truly be satisfied. To your average Joe, it might be the spiciest chicken they have ever eaten. So proceed accordingly. read more

I used to live in Southern California near a Dave's and was surprised to see this spot pop up on the hill & the crazy lines associated, because the one near me in CA had never been anything that special! I figured I'd drop in early on a weekday to see what the hype is all about, but I've gotta say, I still don't really know. I arrived around 11 am and while the space was loud (they CRANK the volume on the PA in here) and there were plenty of people in there, there was no line at all and room to sit, which I was pleased about. I ordered a soda and a single small chicken slider and took a seat at an open table, which was thankfully open (but also wound up being dreadfully sticky, probably because a large portion of their clientele appear to be loud and rowdy teens from the nearby private school...). 15 minutes after ordering I went to check in on my order status, and while the first person I talked to was confused or couldn't hear me over the music, one of their coworkers was able to tell me it would probably be another 10 minutes. I stepped outside to take a work call and came in under 10 minutes later, and my food still wasn't ready. Ultimately it took a half hour from ordering for my single slider to come out. The food itself: not bad! I liked the slider decently enough, I ordered it with medium spice and it was very handleable. The Dave's sauce is tasty. However, chicken was SO SALTY that I had to gulp down a ton of soda between every bite (sales tactic?). For $7 the size was fine, but if it were located elsewhere would probably feel like a rip-off. The only reason i could see for anyone to come here (besides being a teen that wants to be seen with their drink cups--it's apparently A Thing at the moment, idk) instead of the Bok-A-Bok chicken window a couple of blocks down is that it has seating available. But the ambience in here is chaotic enough that I don't know if I see that as much of a plus, to be honest. My experience may have been different if I'd have used their app to order, in retrospect I think that may be what many people do ahead of time so they aren't waiting in-store (though there was also a small crowd of those folks squeezed in at the back too). If I go back, that is my plan. read more

New favorite chicken place. Fingers are crack. Spice was on point. Full of flavor and perfect crunch. Breading with sauce and sprinkled with Cajun seasoning. We will be back! Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere! The flavors are to die for. This is not just your normal hot chicken that's super spicy with no other flavor. The rub they use is actually a flavor bomb and will explode in your mouth! We got the HOT chicken but it was too spicy for us (coming from a Chinese and Korean background). We would probably get the mild next time tbh. We also got a strawberry shake with oreos. We wouldn't recommend adding the oreos, it's not worth it for $2. They don't blend it in for you, you have to eat it with a spoon. Service was great and the staff were friendly. we went the second day it opened and only waited for about 40 minutes (compared to the first day when it was 2 hours). this is a must try! read more

Stopped by for the grand opening weekend during lunch hours and the wait was about an hour. Mild and Medium were not spicy to me so I'd go for the Hot next time. One of the only places in Seattle where you can try something resembling Nashville chicken. Parking is pretty bad during the weekend, but that's to be expected because of the area. The "slider" basic chicken sandwich with cheese was pretty good. Not as awesome as Party Fowl in Nashville or Impeckable Chicken also here in Seattle, but solid. So glad Dave's made it up to Seattle! Be aware though, it can get very crowded in here. I went around 6:30pm, and there was no line, but it quickly became very long by 7pm, going out the door. The seating is also pretty limited. The food was great though if you're craving hot fried chicken. I got medium, and thought it had a slight kick to it that was very enjoyable. The fries are yummy, and if you check in on Yelp, you get a free shake! A very pleasant surprise. Overall a great time :) read more

It's right by my work so I decided to try for the first time and caught a right window where there wasn't a line (~1:40 pm on Tuesday). Quick and easy service, lively atmosphere, and business is flowing. As for food, I got Dave's #1 Hot and it's hot. Usually when you see a long line, you think it's because it's popular and there are a lot of customers. What you don't think about is the alternative, which is that they are just incredibly slow. If the line wasn't 45 minutes and the wait for food wasn't an additional 20, I would give this place a 3 star. The chicken was dry, and misshapen for a sandwich, but the seasoning was on point. Their spice levels are well done. Their Daves sauce is mediocre. Their vanilla shake is decent. Just don't expect the speed or chicken quality of the other popular (non-hot) chicken joint. So wanted to see what all the hype was all about! Yes Longggg line took over 40 minutes to order! The only 2 reasons this place is getting 3 instead of 1- the cashier was superbly Nice! Asked me about my day and super friendly against the Insanity of people who's she's helped all day and she still had a long night ahead! And my hot chicken tender was moist and not dry and was spicy Hot! This place is so dirty - customers treat this place like trash. It's awful. But there was one employee who asked to wash the tables and swept! He was so great but his shoes was covered in food, dirt and paper. He is given a huge thank you too! The customers are young kids and don't care! The trash bins was soooo full too! But finally the same guy was able to empty it! These employees need raises and better treatment!!! Sadly my fries were soooo dry and couldn't eat them a waste of $3.99. Don't get the fries! The sauce and pickles were good but I don't get the bread. It's was so dry and hard!! So it's was a waste $10.90. I won't be back - but these employees are Amazing! Sadly the customers don't care and disgusting. Please tip these employees! Went on day 2 of opening and overall it was great! I got the Dave's 4, one slider with fries, medium heat. Medium was great heat, not too much. My partner got Hot and I would get hot next time for more kick. The fries were crispy and seasoned! And thankfully they serve Coke products! We also got a strawberry milkshake and it was great. Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

On a hot summer day, this would be a nice, airy place to eat in. We might eat there next time. 10 minutes later we were home and looking forward to digging into our chicken! We split a Large Bag o' Bites which were crispy, savory, and delicious breaded chicken breast pieces. We also got the three piece combo: two drumsticks and a thigh. We got everything non-spicy and found it all to be delicious, moist, and crispy. I am especially grateful that Cookie's makes their fried chicken WITHOUT DAIRY since I have a hard time digesting milk protein. I got the Bulgogi and rice meal while my niece got the dumpling soup (with mochi). The portions were so generous that I took my leftovers to my niece's apartment. She had it for lunch the next day! So, late on a Saturday night, after grabbing drinks nearby, my friends and I decided to check out Dave's. Wanted a spot for some late night grub and Dave's Hot Chicken did not disappoint. The place has some seating but it's also good for take out. They were doing to go orders like pros. The counter for to go orders looked crowded but they had a system down and it worked. We took our food to go and had about a twenty minute drive and our food was still hot and fresh when we got home. We each got a combo #3, a slider and a tender and then a side of Mac and cheese and a small chocolate shake. The chicken is huge! Definitely getting your bang for a buck here. They only have Dave's sauce or cheese sauce, so if you want another dipping sauce, your out of luck (at least I couldn't find any). The Mac and cheese wasn't fancy, just noodles and a cheese sauce but it hit the spot for what I was craving - just old school cafeteria style Mac and cheese. Oh and the bun the slider was on, very yummy! The fries were crinkle cut and seasoned nicely. The shake was just alright for me. Came here on a Friday night around 8:45pm. We're not from the area so we were anxiously following our Google Maps until we spotted the purple lights and saw a big crowd of people standing outside. The parking is really confusing because from what we saw it was only street parking and the roads are very tight. We looped around and got lucky with a decent stall up on a hill. All I can say is the hype is real!!!! After weeks of watching YouTube videos of this yummy chicken I can say it's frickin awesome! I got medium spice level and the hubby got mild. We got 2 sliders and 4 tenders. There was a line, but it moved quickly. The workers were kind and looked happy even though they might of been stressed with the crowd.
