I utilized the online booking and within 2 hours of booking online, Anne, their wonderful receptionist had contacted me to solidify my appointment. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by name and treated with the utmost service. I decided to book with Tessa and I am glad I did! She was very personable and listened to my requests about what I would like done to my hair. The attention to detail that Tessa and the rest of the employees at David Arnold's salon was just superb. I've been coming here for a few years now and I absolutely love it! Erica is my stylist and I am always so pleased every time I come in. Erica is extremely friendly and very professional! I have always wanted to be a blonde and my previous stylist told me that I couldn't do it, My hair would completely fall out! This could not be further from the truth! When I asked Erica about that she told me no way and I could certainly be a blonde... I am loving loving loving it my hair! I get so many compliments on the color. A good friend of mine sees Tessa and loves her hair every time she gets it done! Another friend of mine I just found out goes to Sue! She also loves her hair. Everyone does such wonderful work! Male perspective here: I'm a grown professional, but I'm also cheap, so I've always gone for bargain haircuts, usually Supercuts or Hair Cuttery. These places are fine if you find a good stylist and stick with them, but too often they quit as soon as you find one you are happy with. I decided to try David Arnold salon on the advice of my wife and I've been very pleased. This is a long established place and some of the employees have been there for decades. I've seen the stylist Sal twice and his work is on a higher plane than the chain store cuts. He takes his time and gives my do a very flattering shape. He even trims my eyebrows! It's more expensive, but I leave feeling good about the way I look so I think I'm going to stick with this salon. Minus 1 star for not accepting credit cards. read more

I take my hair very serious. I have been coming to this salon for six years and always had a great experience with Sue. She is my hair girl, and she aims to make you feel comfortable and pleased. I have long hair that gets dyed, with carmel highlights. Sometimes with a trim. All for a good price. She always takes her time, and is drama free. Which is rare in hair world. I also like the fact that she stays on top of trends and always takes classes to better her profession. The salon is always clean, and the front staff is friendly which is a major plus. I would say the only downfall is parking, however I always seem to get a spot within min. Bring quarters!!!!! But I think the front desk will give you some if needed. I don't know what goes on with the nail part of the salon. Always looks empty. They only take cash or checks which is annoying, but I understand they don't want to pay $ to the card companies. My husband found this hair salon for me. I called to make an appointment for my sister and I. We arrived on time, our stylist was Sue and Erica. I asked if I was able to squeeze my daughter in for her cut. That wasn't a problem, they accommodate that for me. This place is nice... My cut came out great and so was my daughter's. I have been getting my hair cut at David Arnold's Hair Salon for YEARS and I always get a great cut. I usually have David cut my hair, and he does a great job. His son Jason recently started working with him and gives a great cut as well, and Jason's coloring techniques are phenomenal. I have had so many compliments on my cuts from this salon that I got into the habit of carrying their cards on me for anyone who asks. All of the staff is very nice. Tessa is incredible. I've been going to her for years, and started getting balayage two years ago. I am very low maintenance but I wanted to try something new and she convinced me to go blonder. Even in the grow out the color looks so natural (which was my only concern) and the cut is still perfect! Whether I style it or wear it naturally, she performed magic on my hair so it looks good regardless of my influence. Love my hair and love her!!! read more

Got my men's haircut there about a month or two ago. Everyone was cordial and attentive, but I really didn't think my haircut was worth $35-40 for a quick rinse & snip. The salon I usually go to charges me $20 and they are much more meticulous. As far as I'm concerned the service was nice but I came to get my haircut I don't care about empty conversation. So, ultimately I chose not to return. I was also not expecting to spend that kind of money, I remember calling and inquiring about men's cuts and I'm almost positive the lady on the phone told me a much more reasonable (starting?) price. In my opinion men's cut's shouldn't fluctuate(in the absence of coloring, etc). read more

I had a great experience today at this salon. One of my favorite stylists, Erica, has joined the crew there and she did a wonderful job of blending my old color that had gotten too bright and brassy, with my natural color. She is also helping me keep a clean look as I grow out my formerly short haircut to a more versatile length. All of the staff at the salon were lovely and welcoming. I've waited until a few visits to write a review. Now's the time. Jason Arnold @ David Arnold has cut and colored my hair three times now and each time it gets better. He is easy to work with, listens to what I want and then makes appropriate suggestions. I haven't gotten any complicated color yet, but so far, so good on blending old with new to work out previous problems. Love the cuts, as well. I've gotten many compliments the last few months. Growing your hair out from short to long is hard, but Jason is helping to make it easier with conscious precision. This salon is a friendly, comfortable, and clean place with outstanding customer service. Myself, and several of my friends, have gone to Jason for years. He gives outstanding cuts. He provides the perfect balance of cutting to his clients wishes while also suggesting a few alterations. I have never been happier with my cut. Even better than his cut - which is nearly impossible to get any better - is his color. I have received highlights for years, but it was not until I started going to Jason that I received compliments on a monthly basis. Aside from his true skill - Jason and the entire staff greets you by name and always provides good conversation. And if that is not good enough, David Arnold Salon is unbelievably AFFORDABLE for the quality service that you receive. I think I found my spot!!! I have been looking for a local spot to get my hair done after moving close to the area. I have tried other salons and have always left disappointed. Yesterday, I had an appointment with Erica. I showed her a picture of what color I wanted and she did it perfectly. My cut is great too! I can't stop looking in the mirror at my color and the dimensions she created! Erica was sweet, professional and knowledgeable about hair care. The receptionist was sweet and attentive. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a clean and welcoming salon to get their hair done. Truly a great experience! Called extremely last minute before a vacation and they were able to fit me in for a cut and color. Erica was amazing, and very helpful (I was not at all doing a good job of explaining the kind of red I wanted, but she was able to figure it out and give me exactly what I was picturing in my head). Part of me dreads getting my hair done because I'm so socially awkward and struggle with small talk but Erica was so easy to talk to. I'm growing my hair out and wanted a trim without losing length, and after the cut I don't notice it being too much shorter, yet it feels so healthy. I've been going to Erica for 3 or 4 years now (has it been that long since I stopped going to my awesome stylist in the city?!) and I love her. She does a great job cutting and styling my super thick, curly, shoulder length hair and was SO patient with me while I grew out the color. She and Susan tag teamed to style my hair for my wedding (2 different events on 2 different days, and Erica was out of town for one so Susan subbed in) and I loved what each of them did. When I moved to the Philadelphia area I wanted someone equally qualified to take care of my hair. David Arnold's Salon is just that-- so professional and chic. I prefer to go to Mia. She's got a great sense of style and therefore, always knows what I'm talking about when referring to certain hair styles/new looks. I first went to her for highlights. She not only gives a great cut and color, but she listens to my likes and dislikes in regards to "my look". I am an African American female who scheduled an appointment with Tessa for color at this Salon. I advised the salon of my race when I scheduled the appointment, since I had never used the salon but had seen positive reviews on Yelp! I then received a voice message from the salon the next day advising me that the stylist recommended that I go to another salon in the area because of my race!!! I have gone to predominantly Caucasian salons all of my life and have had stylists of all races throughout my lifetime, and I am over 40. So, we are talking about a long time! I have never had a stylist refuse to style my hair nor take me on as a client due to my race, nor my hair, especially one who has never even seen my hair. I am shocked that in 2018 a business is turning away potential clients and their money simply because of the person race!!! I will definitely not be recommending this salon to anyone in the future! read more
