The park is fully enclosed and has bathrooms, large pavilion with a grill, swings, two slightly covered playgrounds, basketball court, toy car track, corn hole and more. You are required to bring your own basketball and bean bags for corn hole. My grandson's have a great time playing at this park.

John Wesley Griffin was one of the original residents of the subdivision of Beverly Hills. He was named after the co-founder of the Methodist Church, John Wesley. He was born October 1, 1888 in Sylvania, GA. He and his brother Sam moved to Groveland in the 1930's and John became the personal chauffeur to J. Ray Arnold Saw Mill. He was instrumental in getting amenities, such as clay packed streets and running water, to the Beverly Hills subdivision. He also managed the play park and Edgewood Cemetery from 1945 to 1948. He served in World War I and was the Lake County School District representative for Edgewood. Beverly Hills was started in 1945 by developer Charlie J. Anderson. Beverly Park was established by John Wesley Griffin in 1951 after asking Mr. Anderson to set aside several lot spaces for a place where children could play. Mr. Anderson in turn asked Mr. Griffin to manage and be the caretaker for the area. He did this over the next 20 years and passed on the responsibilities to the Caple family. Lacy and Mary Caple managed the property until their children grew up. They then donated the land to the City of Groveland and the property was named Beverly Park.

Oh, Park Pals…read more. This is the best in Clermont, hands down. We've had people from 20 miles away come to birthday parties we've thrown here and then will come back on their own, hitting us up to come play with them again. The playground is by far the biggest afound, stretching for a long ways. The balance beam & more feature that allows kids to basically circumnavigate most of it without touching the ground is really cool. Slides, swings, seesaws, and spinny stuff galore! And tons of room to toss a Frisbee or football all over. The small nature hike out to the dock and water is very well maintained. There are fiends for soccer and baseball too. Lots of stuff! Lovely Pavillion for hosting a party as well!

Went out for a walk and found this trail. I enjoyed and nice 2 mile walk along this trail…read more Essentially it seems to be more of a bike trail but still good for walkers. The trail had some hills but mostly flat. Luckily there was plenty of shade along the way. They have a station where bike riders can work on their bikes and if they need to put some air in the tires it has an air pump. Next time I am bringing my bike. Came across plenty of friendly riders sharing the trail.

Minneola Trailhead park has 17 acres and includes a dog park, playground, ball field, exercise…read morearea, and basketball court. The playground is ADA compliant and the dog park is in two sections. One section is for dogs under 35 pounds and the other for over 35 pounds. They have a waste station and plenty of room to roam. You only need a permit to gather if you have an event with 50 or more. The park has access to the South Lake Trail and clean bathrooms. Their normal hours are from 7am to 7pm.

We picked up the trail at the Killarney Station and rode through to Minneola Trailhead Park. The views are beautiful and we appreciated all of the areas with trees that helped keep the heat bearable in the afternoon. There are a lot of sections that intersect with the roadway so you have to stay alert and possibly not have very young children lead the way. There were lots of people on the trail when we visited and everyone seemed to be mindful of each other.

A sweetheart from the group arrived at 6 am and was able to secure a nice pavilion on the lakeside, adjacent to the restrooms and across from plenty of parking. The pavilion come with a grill (we didn't use) and a large trash bin nearby. The area had a few trees around and was nicely shaded, this made the combination of good weather result in a really good experience. There is a nice trail for walking, hiking and cycling. Near the parking, there is a play area for children and a fenced dog park area. Overall, I thought I had a good experience and think that it is a fabulous area. I do hope to get back out here at some point in the future.

Lake Hiawatha Preserve Park - Frisbee Golf (Disc Golf Course)…read more Finally, a legit 18-hole disc golf course near Clermont, Florida. It's also a great place to bring your dogs! They have a nice fenced in area to let your dogs mingle and play with other dogs off the leash and there's a trail and some back country you can take them and run with. The good: - Solid mix of wooded technical holes and a few open bombers around the lake. Holes 4-8 along the water are gorgeous, especially at sunset. - Tee pads are concrete and in great shape (huge upgrade from the old rubber mats). - New Mach X baskets catch well and the bright yellow bands make them easy to spot. - Multiple pin positions on several holes keep it fresh -- they move them every few months. - Free parking, clean porta-potty near hole 1, and the course flows really well. Rarely any backups even on weekends. The "eh": - Can get soggy after rain (bring boots in spring). A couple fairways hold water like a sponge. - Hole 13's long position is a total prayer across the marsh -- fun once, frustrating the other 19 times. Highly recommend for intermediate and up. Beginners might get humbled on the back 9, but that's how we all learn! Will keep coming back. 4.5 stars rounded down only because mother nature still wins sometimes.
