There are many different styles, levels, & class/program options available for the young, developing, recreational, & competitive dancer, with each class taught & led by an accredited dance professional. When I was a young teen aspiring to dance on a university dance team, I knew the studio that would help me accomplish my hopes & dreams - Dance Dimensions. The instructors at Dance Dimensions provided me with individualized training from 1999-2006 & led me to experience my dream of dancing both collegiately (on GVSU's Laker Dance Team) & professionally (on the former GR Arena Football League's Rampage RAGE Dance Team). I don't know if I could have made these teams if it weren't for their encouragement, support, dedication to helping me achieve my goals, & their professional dance expertise. As a mom of 3 dancers, there was no other studio in my mind to select for my children's dance training. My daughters have participated in both recreational & competitive dance at Dance Dimensions since 2013 & our experience has been nothing but superb with instructors, studio professionalism, performance opportunities, & more. Dance Dimensions has continued her dance instruction along that same path, and has really kept my daughter engaged, entertained, and learning at a wonderful pace. My daughter has had two classes so far with two different instructors, and they've both been fantastic experiences. The instructors are very attentive to what is going on with the students, and for those parents that take an interest in their child's progress (such as myself), they'll engage you and let you know how things are going and make comments and recommendations after classes. She starts her third class there in a couple weeks, so needless to say I'm very pleased. My daughter loves it and is truly excelling at the hands of the Dance Dimensions' instructors.

You'll learn the basics at first (climbing, basic foot lock), and once capable they will move you up to the next class. Depending on your ability, you may move up classes quickly or, like me, repeat some classes until you gain enough strength to move up. For your safety only, you will be allowed to advance in classes as your physical ability will allow, and no sooner. They will tell you the truth! If you're afraid of heights, I still recommend it! The intro classes work either from the ground or 6 inches off the ground until you're strong enough to go up higher. I had very weak upper body or core when I started. I am now about 1 year into classes and have improved dramatically, can climb to the top, and do moves I never dreamed of. You will amaze yourself, which is probably the most fulfilling part of it all. If you're looking for a new adventure and open to a session, I highly recommend Aerial 4 Me.

She then worked with us to learn some steps that would be elegant but not too difficult for beginners to learn. The instruction progressed from just learning the basic steps to polishing our form, posture, rhythm, etc. If I or my fiancée didn't understand something, she used different methods to help: explaining, memory cues, standing in for one of us, or doing the steps by herself with one of us behind her mirroring her moves. Her friendly charm made it a delight to attend the classes, and I'm glad we went with her instead of another studio. Based on another dance instruction estimate I had received, we ended up getting twice the amount of individual instruction at half the cost. We plan to take more dance lessons with Patty sometime in the near future.
