Dr. Dave is a very smart, knowledgeable, caring, and respectful Doctor who has been practicing family medicine for over 50 years. In his office, he has an Ultrasound machine, a microscope, and some other medical instruments. He can always know what is going on with the patient based on objective & subjective findings and his 50+ years of experiences, and so offer proper advice or options based on the patient's individualized conditions. Timely best possible referrals have saved many people's lives because he knows very well where to direct the patient to go for their further care and treatment. BTW, your heart won't break after you get the bill. The charges are extremely reasonable. His staff, Andrea and Monica, are warm-hearted people who love to help people as well. I know this because I have been in this office for a few years practicing Chinese medicine, providing acupuncture and related services. Just give you a couple of examples: Dr. Dave found my patient's huge tumor with his ultrasound machine upon her first visit and offered her a timely & best possible referral so my patient got very well taken care of; he spent hours and hours trying to find a super specialist who can really solve another patient's very difficult problem in his budget; ... Dr. Dave works beyond office hours everyday. He may follow up with patents, making referrals, talking with his colleagues ... . Even when the patient himself gives up and becomes hopeless, he doesn't. He is trying to work out a solution for everyone no matter how difficult the problem is. I highly recommend Dr. Dave. I sincerely wish he can work until at least 100 years old and can see more patients!!! read more

I started going to Dr. Dave in 1996. I've always valued him as my doctor and appreciate his way of looking at the whole picture... everything going on with me medically. I also appreciate that he is willing to consider and investigate approaches that are more holistic than some doctors embrace. I never feel that he's talking down to me. I decided to write this review because I noticed several older Yelp reviews that were highly critical of his staff and the wait times. I'd like people to know that the staff he has now (and has had for at least the past 2 or 3 years) are exceptional and extremely professional. Wait times which used to be ridiculous are now extremely reasonable. The office seems cleaner and more welcoming and the furniture is coordinated and comfortable. And, as minor a detail as this is, he's got much better magazines now. read more

Not a fan. I won't go into too much detail but I saw him for my first appointment and ask him about my ankle. I didn't think the only thing he was going to do was Google everything right in front of me.!!!!And the top it off after all this he said there's a mandatory drug test on my first visit. I think it's staff was very ignorant and rude and I never ever want to go back to the some like this if you're not sure who he is he looks like mr. Burns with liver spots all over. read more

We like the doctor and that is why we continue to use him, but the office staff leaves something to be desired. They need some help with their customer relations. 3 stars because of them, the doctor would get more. If I was rating just the staff, 1 star. We like how the doctor uses a microscope to verify things while we're there. Somehow reassuring. He also has a stack of well-thumbed reference books which he always double checks with. He has offered some "holistic" options in certain cases, and they have always worked. I think you have to state that you are open to these types of things first though. He's amazing. After interviewing several pediatricians, I found his stance and support regarding my choice to no/slowly vaccinate my third child to be the most similar to my own. I actually make a 20 minute drive to his office just because I have been so highly referred to him, and I am so impressed by his demeanor. I also respect that he questions me regarding my vaccination decision to make sure that I know the reasons I am making the choices that I have made and continue to make. I feel like he is a father figure who is giving me the tried and true advice he would give to his own child. Further, he is out of network of my Kaiser insurance, and I happily pay out of pocket to see a pediatrician that supports my alternative views. He backs up my parenting style with research that has proven why breastfeeding is the best and only nutrition needed for baby's first year. He makes me feel confident as a parent, and he is encouraging and supportive of my own specific parenting style. I highly recommend him to other no/slow vaxers who want support from a doctor who is well-read and doesn't believe all the hype regarding the ridiculous amount of vaccines that are recommended prior to age 2. I wish I had known that pediatricians like this existed when I had my first two children, but I am thankful I have found him now. read more

Dr. David Resneck-Sannes appears to be a good Doctor. Unfortunately his office staff is unable to support his practice in a manner that would want me to ever come back. On my first visit with this Doctor I was forced to wait in his office for over an hour after my scheduled visit. At that time I left as I had other appointments to keep and I did not feel that I should have to wait for over an hour with no explanation. My time is just as valuable as the Doctor's time and unfortunately his office staff does not agree. As I said I think the Doctor is a good one, It;s too bad that his office staff cannot support him in the manner that keeps patients coming back. Doctors need to remember that they offer a service to the patients and are subject to the marketplace when patients are selecting their personal physicians. It does not matter how good the doctor is if he is not available to the patient I would look for another Doctor that puts customer service as a higher priority for his patients. read more

I had a great experience with Dr Resneck. We had a short consultation the week before my Vasectomy. The procedure was less painful than a dentist visit for teeth cleaning! You rarely see the 'whole package' in family medicine these days - but Dr. Resneck-Sannes consistently provides a level of patient care that exceeds all expectations. We recently moved to CA and I was in need of a new primary care doctor. After seeing his positive reviews, I decided to give Dr. R-S a try. At my first appointment, I immediately appreciated the office vibe - very personal with a small-town feel. The office staff greets patients like old friends. Susie the receptionist is one of the nicest people you will meet. Plus, the office shares space with an alternative medicine practice that offers a HUGE menu of complimentary therapies (acupuncture, massage, nutrition, etc.) The wait was reasonable (less than 15 min), especially when you realize this is a doctor who actually listens! He wants to get to know his patients. He does not make you feel rushed or stupid for asking questions. He comes across as confident but not arrogant; and you can tell he really cares about the business of making people healthy. He provides his own cell phone number to call in emergencies. He is a living health testimony for his patients - here is a 70 year old man who looks like he is 50, who says he has no plans to retire any time this decade. He is an inspiration for healthy aging. His office has gone digital - with an online portal that I actually like. These qualities alone would have probably been enough to meet all my basic needs for a primary care physician. When I experienced a serious medical problem, I was then able to see how gifted and unusual Dr. R-S really is. I am so grateful to have him in my corner! Over numerous office visits in a short timeframe, he demonstrated a DEEP and CURRENT understanding across many specialties, including Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, and Neurology. He is "up" on the latest research, plus has decades of his own clinical observations. He doesn't view the patient as a collection of body parts - but sees the integrated whole. This type of expertise, plus his clinical intuition and encouragement during the differential diagnosis process was truly invaluable. We moved here from the midwest and a friend referred us to Dr. Resneck-Sannes because of his integrative approach to health. I'd rate Dr. Sannes five stars all the way (the reason for four stars is below). This was one of the best physician's visits i have ever had. Dr. Resneck-Sannes is a very mature, experienced physician with a huge history of family practice. He spent an hour talking with our family about our health concerns, lifestyle, parenting and our child's behavior. He was great with our four year old who was demonstrating some allergies/sensitivities. The Doc validated our concerns and showed us how to order simple blood work that would tell us how to minimize his allergies. We love that he embraces integrative health and was wonderful talking to us about vaccinations, medications and the like. We also love that he doesn't over-prescribe meds...and he's been around the bend many times and knows his stuff. He also spent TIME with us... a lot of time, asking questions, listening and probing for information. You can tell he really loves people person and he is also very kind. We are happy to have found our new family doctor. A few months later, I had to call him when our son became ill. He called us back on a weekend late at night and was very kind and patient in our discussion of our son. We felt as if we were in good hands! The only down-side of our first experience is that we had an *excruciatingly long wait* before for our visit -- in excess of 90 minutes. This really stunk with a four year old - and incredibly uncomfortable waiting room seating.... but they were backed up. I now schedule visits in the morning going forward, and if I have to wait, he's worth it. Keep in mind, when he's running late, it's because -- UNLIKE the healthcare MACHINE physicians -- he takes the necessary amount of time with his patients to give them GOOD CARE. Best. Doctor. Ever. Prepare to wait - bring a book, your laptop, take a chill pill and don't sweat it. He's worth it. My whole family has been seeing dr Dave for 20 years. He is thoughtful and thinks outside the box. For example, I take my daughter to urgent care and they tell me she has pink eye and give me antibiotics. A week later I take her to dr Dave and he takes a swab, puts it under his microscope and says its allergies. It's not brain surgery but he is not going to jump to the same old conclusions as the doc Ina box types. He is good at sports medicine, open to many alternative ideas but also keeps up on the current meds. He found ovarian cysts in my teenager. He has prescribed things for me that no one else would try and been a lifesaver. It's a one man office and you wait because he spends so much time on you. And will call other doctors on your behalf. I am pretty impatient in general and this is the only place I will put up with it. Totally worth it for quality medical care. read more

I know Dr. Resnick comes across as a loving and concerned doctor, and I do believe he is a nice man with the ability to empathize with his patients, but this does not override his lack of medical professionalism, medical knowledge, and incompetance as a medical practitioner. I almost died in the care of Dr. Resnick. I spent nearly two months in the hospital and a significant amount of that time was in the intensive care unit. I am still recovering, many years later. I am not posting this to smear Dr. Resnick's name, but to inform the public that his medical practices are dangerous. On November 6, 2015, the state of California revoked Dr. Resnick's medical license, yet they will allow him to serve 5 years probation, complete many hours of medical education, attend a clinical training program, be supervised by another doctor, and many other stipulations to continue practicing medicine ( it is like a plea deal). Dr. Resnick is forbidden to treat specific conditions, prescribe specific medications, and administer medications in a specified manner. He was found medically negligent with FIVE patients and was brought up on 12 acts of gross negligence, repeated negligent acts, and inadequate documentation. If he follows every stipulation of probation, in 5 years he will be off of probation and he will retain his license. In my opinion he should not be given the opportunity to retain his license, but this is not my decision. Although I never sued Dr. Resnick, I want to save people from the pain and devastation that my family and I have gone through and the life-long medical issues I now endure from his mistakes.
