On the recommendation of a friend, we hired David to paint the exterior of our house. The price was reasonable and he offered a two year guarantee. He worked rather slowly (by himself, from 9 until 2 and never later, 5 days per week with a solid 40 minute break for lunch each day), but did make steady progress and -- we thought -- the job looked good at the beginning. And David is a nice guy, sort of hippyish and singing while he works.
Now, 18 months later, we sorely regret our choice. His job has not held up well at all, and we're not sure why he didn't offer a ten-year or even life-time guarantee, because he doesn't honor the guarantee.
