I made an appointment about 2 to 3 weeks prior to visiting. I made an appointment for two brides, as my friend and I are both getting married next year and needed dresses. I made this very clear with the woman I spoke to when making our appointments that we would need TWO appointments. She even asked if it was ok if we tried dresses on simultaneously, which was fine. The day before our appointment I received a confirmation phone call and i asked if they had the appointment for two. She had no idea what I was talking about but said she would "pencil her in." We arrived for our appointments and we were greeted immediately. Torre was the stylist for both of us. She pointed out the aisle where the wedding dresses were, asked us a few questions, told us to check out the dresses and if we saw anything we liked, to pull them out. She went off to get us a few dresses based on the questions she asked us. We were led to dressing rooms and given 2 to 3 dresses a piece. The experience was just ok. I wasn't "wowed" at all. I think one stylist for two people was a bit overwhelming for her and I don't feel we both got the attention we deserved although Torre was great and did her best. We both ultimately found our dresses. I was a little disappointed that she didn't give us many veils to try on with our dresses. She put one on me at one point, but that was it. She may have been able to sell me a veil and/or other accessories but she just seemed "over it" but in a nice way--you know how a person tries to put on a happy face but you just get that "feeling" that they don't want to do this anymore? Yeah, that was us. I'm wondering if she was just overwhelmed with having to deal with two people. It would have been nice to have separate stylists and I think that would've made the experience better. This is my first wedding! Don't expect to be offered water/drinks--at least we weren't. I was nervous reading all the reviews for this location, but a lot of them are from years ago, most of those consultants probably aren't even there anymore. And I got my wedding dress from a different David's Bridal, but got my belt and veil from this location. We also had an appointment for my maid of honor to try on dresses and the consultant was very helpful. She even let me try on my dress to see the dresses together. I've been back and forth to this location several times and they have always been super nice and helpful. I have my first alterations appointment coming up soon, I hope the customer service is just as good as previous trips. read more

I thought I found a dress I liked until I decided to make an appt at the David's Bridal in Wilkes Barre location. This is my second marriage. I was greeted as soon as I came in the door and ended up having 2 women helping me. They were extremely helpful. I found a dress out of the corner of my eye and had to try it on. Wasn't in my budget but.. As soon as I put it on I cried. They made me feel so special. They helped me find my shoes and my perfect dress. I wish I could have given them a huge hug. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend making that appointment. I got to make my 3 wishes and ring my bell and hold my "I found my dress" sign. It was amazing. I went for an appointment to try on dresses for my wedding, and honestly I did not think I was going to find anything I liked or get a dress at all. I worked with Jen and she was absolutely wonderful! She totally got my vibe and let my mom and my man of honor take the lead and pull from their showroom. She was a delight to work with, she pulled dresses I didn't even think of and they were absolutely perfect! Because of her I got my dream dress; with the most perfect accessories and she made sure that we didn't feel pushed or prodded. She let us do our thing and made it so fun. read more

Where do I start? You have 7 days to cancel an order (I wanted to cancel because I found the same dresses a lot cheaper on their website). Was told I cannot cancel - I would have to come into the store with my card. I live almost an hour away. I am the one who purchased the bridesmaid dresses with my own card as I am the bride. I was told I would get a call back the next morning by the manager. I never received a call back to cancel my order and now it is too late. Then the same day I got a call that the one dress was in and they are shipping it to one of my bridesmaids. You know I want to cancel the order and get a cheaper price online and have no intention on canceling it and helping me save the money. I realize that it may not be a big deal to some people - saving an extra $30 per dress, but to a bride who is paying for her own wedding entirely and all 4 dresses for the bridesmaids, they should want to help. The purpose of the this review is to steer customers away from this store. I have never written a review on yelp but the anger I have is compelling me to do so. This store doesn't even deserve 1 star it is so pitiful. My wedding was September 1st 2018. I purchased my dress fall of 2017. My sales women Maria was absolutely amazing . I'd like to say that she was one of the reasons I purchased my dress there . My seamstress was Also awesome , Amy . However the manager is an absolute nightmare . Five minutes before I was about to leave for my ceremony the dress tore open in the back. The top eye hook fell right off and the zipper tore away from the dress. There was little to no time to fix my dress, as we all know weddings are tightly coordinated . I refused to go to my ceremony as I was embarrassed that my dress was torn in the back and was open for everyone to see my slip and spanx . I was 45 minutes late and extremely self conscious. Since I was so late , we were not able to get any family pictures . Our session was cut short and off to the reception which we were late for as well . We missed practically our entire cocktail hour and were completely discombobulated . I contacted David's corporate . They called me back to start a case 3 days later !!! I had to schedule an appointment and take measurements with the manager and seamstress . I was very pleasant with the seamstress as she was very kind to me and understanding . The manger however stood there and watched the process as she ever so kindly said to me " it looks a little tight , it doesn't fit you ". I kept my mouth shut and left my appointment . It's now 2 months later and not one person has contacted me . The pictures have come back , and I'm even more devastated. No pictures of our families together and all the pictures that were taken of us from behind , my dress is visibly open. My dress was $1,800. My alterations were about $450. My veil was $175 . Plus the taxes ,slip and dress cover ( yes ,they charge you for a dress cover) . I spent $3,000 at a chain store , was ever so slightly told I was over weight and did not even get a call back . Thank you David and The Lovely Manager for not caring about anything or your customers. FOLLOW UP: It's November 29th I still have not received a call . I made a bridal appointment with the Wilkes-Barre store after quickly visiting this store another time and having a terrible experience with service at the Middletown, NY, David's location. I was promptly greeted by the manager (Lauren, I believe) and given immediate attention by stylist Vicky. Having very little idea of silhouette, Vicky was patient and accommodating. The personal attention I received from both her and the manager was more than I would have ever expected. Vicky spent extra time and even selected the perfect accessories for my dress. Could not recommend this team more. I will be making another appointment with Vicky for my bridal party. Thank you! read more

My friend had a bridesmaid dress appointment here for a few months. We came here on a Sunday around 12:30 for our appointment. Let's just say this was absolutely some of the worst customer service I've ever had and truly felt bad for my friend. Maria was our helper, but in all actuality we helped ourselves 99% of the time. She did check with us maybe once or twice. Luckily, we found a dress that suited the bride. We then stood in a very long line to checkout as there was only one person doing orders, checking out, etc. The woman, who I believe was the manager, apologized for such a long wait. She said that three brides unexpectedly came in without an appointment and needed to be helped. Now, I'm sorry, but we HAD an appointment and should have been a PRIORITY. I bought my dress from David's Bridal. The selection of dresses was good. I found what I was looking for and was very pleased with the quality of my dress. The girl I worked with was helpful and friendly. The only issue I had was that the store was not very organized. I received a call to pick up my dress, and when I arrived they couldn't find it. It turned out that they had prepared it to ship to one of my bridesmaids. As a bride, a lost dress was very stressful. They really need to be more aware of what they do with their merchandise. The seamstress was great. She made my alterations and the dress was perfect. I also got my bridesmaid's dress here. It was a great choice, because my bridesmaids lived in all different states; it made everything very easy. read more

The staff are the MOST RUDE people in the business of giving a "happily ever after." One woman in particular was extremely rude to me. I tried to tell her at least four different times that a dress was laying on the ground. She ignored every time I tried to approach her until I was actually in her face! I didn't even need her help, I was just informing her! The only redeeming quality of this store is a wonderful employee named Jocelyn. She was very nice and more than eager to help! When I arrived at my appointment, they were ready and waiting for me. The woman helping us started to walk me toward all of the poofy most expensive dresses they had. I am having a garden wedding so it was disappointing she never asked about my style event or what type of dress I was looking for. She assumed she knew what I had wanted. Once I stopped her and explained what I was going for, she redirected her efforts to finding me a beautiful dress. Wish she would have asked some questions up front in order to assist me better. My mother and I visited this location and worked with Jocelyn; we did not have an appointment but she did her absolute best to make sure we had a wonderful experience. She listened to the ideas my mother and I had, helped us pull dresses we liked, and then picked out several others that I otherwise would never have given a second glance.. and they were all stunning. I'm a plus-size bride and I never felt like it was difficult for her to find dresses for me. Do not order a dress from this location!! order online. This David's Bridal lost my junior bridesmaid's dress! First, they called asking how the dress fit and how we liked it. This was the first communication that the dress had even come in. Then during week the store called again and left a VM stating if the dress wasn't picked up by Saturday, they were no longer going to hold it. The dress was already paid for!!! When my sister arrived to pick the dress up on Saturday they couldn't find it after looking for about 20 minutes. They had my sister reorder the dress and said it wouldn't be in for 3 - 4 weeks. The Wedding is in 7 weeks. I strongly recommend ordering online for less headaches. read more

I had to come here a few times to order a dress for my sister's wedding and get it fitted, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful every single time! I'm a "big girl" so finding a flattering dress is difficult, but these women not only helped me find a beautiful dress, but it was within my budget and looked nice on me. They were incredibly patient with me and friendly, and Charlene in the alterations department did a beautiful job on my dress and even laughed at my stupid jokes. Parking can be annoying, but I blame that on the mall. Standard prices for a David's Bridal, but they really are very sweet (even to some of the nastier customers I saw). Overall a very nice experience - I had to drive 44 miles each way to get here, and it was worth it. read more

I am getting married May 10, 2013. May is one of the most popular months for weddings therefore venues and services book quickly. About three months ago I was looking for a photography/videography service. I talked with many companies. Many were nearly booked up for the month I needed. I finally decided on David's Bridal. The samples they showed me really seemed impressive. They were also having a sale and I was strongly encouraged to open a David's Bridal credit card to take full advantage of the sale and 0% interest. Now fast forward a few months. I just got a call stating they will no longer be offering the video/photog. services so that they can "focus on apparel." Maybe they should FOCUS on CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are sending me my money back through the mail, but now I have a useless credit card that I didn't need to open. I also have the stress of trying to find a suitable and TRUSTWORTHY video/photog. service that isn't already booked! The customer service rep (and I use that term lightly) passed me onto a supervisor. I explained I was highly dissatisfied and stressed. I also stated my annoyance of opening a credit card that is now useless. I also explained I was going to purchase my gown, accessories, and bridesmaid gowns through David's Bridal. I also stated how it is unfair that I had to sign multiple pages of contracts warning me of repercussions should I break the contract, yet they could just terminate it without any. Needless to say I am unimpressed with the "customer service" I experienced through this company. Brides need a company they can trust. Needless to say that trust has been broken and I will NO LONGER be purchasing any type of merchandise through this company. I have a few newly engaged friends and I will be sure to pass this lovely experience on. read more

My mother went to this location to purchase some shoes for my wedding. They didn't have her size so they had the shoe shipped to her from the closest davids bridal to them (orange, Connecticut). When the shoes came they didn't fit. She called the store they came from and was told she could bring them back to her local store (wilkes barre) and they would ship them back for an exchange. When she spoke to Lynn at the wilkes barre location she refused to take the shoes back and in fact told my mother she had to wait an entire week for a store manager to come and approve the return/exchange. At this time my mother calls the location they were shipped from again and the store manager for that location told her it can be done and called Lynn herself. Lynn still refused to help my mother. She was very rude and did not care about the problem at hand. I would not recommend this location unless they have what you want then and there otherwise they will not help you at all. read more

I explained I l lived out of state and would be home in two weeks if I could pick it up then. The girl rudely responded no. I had to have a friend pick up the dress and when she did the worker responded "we ran out of room to hold her dress". Very unprofessional, especially since I was planning on having the alterations done when I returned home in two weeks. I refuse to have them make the several alterations I need and will take it to another seamstress that values their customers. I went shopping last week for bridal gowns. Victoria was the staff member assigned to me and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was simply wonderful to work with. I also went shopping yesterday for bridesmaid dresses. While I just dropped in without an appointment to browse, at least 3 different staff members asked if we needed any help (and they helped us). This was the most stressful part of my wedding planning by far! When my fiancé and I went we both chose our dresses that day, the first issue that happened was a small one of my maid of honors dress being put into my bill which was easily rectified and I left happy that day. When my fiancé got the call that her dress was in and after trying to give her the wrong dress and she waited three hours for them to finally tell her there had been a mistake and her dress was no longer there. Then when my dress came in I did not receive a call and they had given my fiancée bridesmaid (not mine) the dress without even telling me until I called and asked the status of it. I waited 5 months for my veil as well. Next one of my fiancées bridesmaids had to see about exchanging her dress and was given a hard time about it causing me to call and speak to Diane who in my opinion is the most rude worker I have come across as she gave me attitude and hung up on me. I also requested for my last two bridesmaids to have not only them be called but me to be as well since I was worried of them not being called at all and the dress being given away. It turned out that my fear was warranted as they and myself never received a call. I can honestly say without a doubt I would never recommend a bride to go to Davids bridal ever! It may be cheaper but it is not worth the hassle or the horrible service you receive. read more
