It took him 10 minutes to figure out the problem. AC compressor and broken serpentine belt. 20 minutes later he had the parts off and went to get replacements. Unfortunately it is a 1999 and the parts had to come from the ford dealership in Columbia. I did take two days to come in due to us breaking down so late in the day. Kelvin had his daughter pick it up at 4:30 and drive it to the shop. Eddie said he would be there to put it in. I was worried at 9PM when he wasn't there but figured he would come in the morning. At 10pm he showed up after his service call on 95 and put the rig back together in about 45 minutes. The only reason I can do 5 stars is the cost was more than I thought it would be. $1250 was steep however the work was done at the Exxon station we were broken down at so an up charge is expected. Eddie our mechanic was knowledgeable, personable and had integrity. He gave me his personal cell and answered lol of my cell phone calls over the two days to assure me he would take care of the repair and he did exactly what he did he would do.

I initially called for a roadside tire change, but the situation ended up requiring both a tow and…read morea tire change. While the tire was changed quickly, my overall experience was disappointing. During the tow, the driver appeared to drive carelessly, repeatedly crossing over the highway lane lines, which made me feel unsafe. The price quoted over the phone seemed reasonable, but once the service was completed, the owner attempted to charge significantly more than expected. I was also promised a receipt would be emailed to me, but as of this review, I still have not received it despite multiple requests. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. The lack of follow-through, concerns about pricing, and the unsafe driving during the tow outweighed the one positive aspect, which was the quick tire change. After reading other customers' reviews and having this experience myself, I would choose a different provider in the future.

On Wednesday,…read moreApril 23, 2025, my daughter mentioned that the air conditioning in her Honda CR-V wasn't working properly. I immediately decided to call the nearest dealership, which happened to be Superior Honda in Orangeburg, S.C. I spoke with a service advisor named Deanna. Right away, I sensed a certain shortness in her tone, which made it uncomfortable to schedule an appointment. Still, after checking our schedules, we agreed on April 28, 2025. 1 thought, perhaps she was just having a bad day. However, when my daughter arrived for the appointment, she called me from the service desk and said she felt very uncomfortable. She mentioned that Deanna was not particularly warm or welcoming. Good customer service is essential to building a successful business. I sincerely hope Deanna takes this feedback to heart-it could benefit both her and the company she represents.

A month ago the sunroof on the Terrain started pouring water from the right side of the headliner. Opened the sunroof and carefully poured water into each drain to determine what was leaking. The tube is not clogged because water isn't collecting in the basin that feeds the drain. Because I thought I needed to remove the headliner I took it to Fairey and was told I needed a new drain tube that would cost me approximately $1200.00 because they would need to remove the entire dashboard to replace it, but they would happily deduct the diagnosis fee from the bill if I came in for the repair. I paid them their ridiculous diagnosis fee thanked them and walked out. My expectation was a minimum 1 hour charge for the entire repair. The young man behind the desk was extremely professional and used all the right language but had no idea he was talking to someone with 37 years in the automotive repair business. If he could have seen inside my head the anger of "THE BEAST" was hiding inside a 72 year old man. Not at him, but at management and ownership. This does not happen in a vacuum!!! I'm jumping ahead of myself. When I left Fairey I remembered a collision shop about 15 minutes from my house and decided to check them out. For a small shop they were extremely busy. As I was explaining my problem to the desk clerk. The owner was walking by, stopped and immediately asked me "Why don't you fix it yourself, it'll take you less than 15 minutes. I've had 2 Terrains in here this past week with the same problem." I made an appointment and Best Auto Collision, North SC made the repair while I waited. Cost $20.00. Can I give Fairey Chevrolet "0" stars for honesty and " 5"stars for dishonesty. H. James Norway SC
