My homeopath recommended Dr. Davison several years ago as a strong clinician with a systemic perspective on health. I could not be more impressed! From the minute I walked into the waiting room, I felt more comfortable and cared for than I had since I stopped seeing my pediatrician two decades ago. Her office doesn't have the cold and sterile appearance of a normal doctor's office - she has comfortable furniture and plants! She doesn't rush through my appointment in 7 minutes before hurrying off to the next - a regular office visit is usually a half hour! There is always adequate time to explain my concerns and receive her feedback. Not only that, but she has always taken the time to check in with me about past concerns impacting my well-being (how is my family situation? how stressful is my work? how much exercise am I getting? am I still having problems with ____?). Additionally, I can't understand the previous reviews about her poor, unprofessional bedside manner. She IS direct and honest, but I find that attitude helpful rather than icy or invalidating. Patients with pet allergies beware - she has a sweet and loving dog that greets each patient and willingly demonstrates what it means to relax. read more

Lisa Davison is the most humane, intelligent and compassionate physician I have ever had. I believe she is trained as an internist and as a patient you get the benefit of having someone with a comprehensive knowledge of all medical issues. She is so much more than a "GP" and at the same time is truly the best listener of any doctor I know. I had some extremely complex and difficult diagnoses that other doctors were extremely unhelpful and dismissive about. Lisa is the first doctor who listened AND diagnosed correctly AND she connected me with other specialists that could help me. She also researched and provided information on obscure medications that were essential to my improved health. Lisa is the perfect doctor if you are really committed to your own personal well being and are looking for an extremely informed and wise doctor. Perhaps most importantly, she is profoundly kind while being straightforward about how you need to take responsibility for your own recovery. read more

Wow, I am totally shocked by Anje's review. I had the best experience I have ever had with a doctor with Dr. Davison. I have never even posted my opinion on line before but after reading Anje's post, I have to weigh in. Dr. Davison spent an entire hour with me in my appointment, was extremely thorough, came across as very competent, followed up with me via email and addressed my questions over email promptly. It is amazing to have this kind of access to her expertise. She also very thoroughly assessed my medical history, collected my medical files from a very wide collection of sources (Group Health, Virginia Mason, etc.) and made sound recommendations to me. I honestly have been talking to all of my friends and family since then about how happy I am to have found such a great doctor. She came to me by a very strong recommendation and I would make that same strong recommendation. read more

I don't normally bother to write reviews, but felt I should defend Dr. Davison here. (She has plenty of excellent reviews on other sites such as Judy's Book). When I first went to see her on a referral 2 years ago, it was THE most positive experience I ever had with a doctor. She sat with me for almost an hour going over my health history, health goals etc. and on subsequent visits demonstrated that she took the time to review that information before I came in. I recently referred a friend that she was very thorough with and helpful to-this friend was able to email the doctor and get same day responses resulting in getting her medical issue resolved. I highly recommend Dr. Davison to anyone who is looking for a professional partner in their health care and not just someone who gives them the answers they want to hear. read more

I was looking for a doctor and Dr. Davison was recommended to me by a colleague. I found Dr. Davison very thorough, thoughtful and very current on medical issues. What impressed me most and continues to do so, is that when I come in for an exam she has actually read my file and is prepared. She has questions for me and provides feedback on my labs. I am healthier today because Dr. Davison is my doctor. I don't expect my doctor to be my friend, but I do expect my doctor to give me medical advice (no matter how hard it might be for me to hear) that will keep me healthier. Dr. Davison is not of sound mind to advise or care for living beings. A horrifying experience with this doctor...horrifying. A medical professional should not suggest Anorexia. People die from Anorexia to say the very least. The nurse practitioner on staff, a friend and colleague of Dr. Davison, is not fit to associate with people in the medical arena either. This isn't ego, this isn't comedy, this is serious. I wouldn't advocate an arch nemesis make an appointment with Dr. Davison, or anyone she shares an office with, let alone a city. Some doctors have no bedside manner, some doctors just don't have the time and some doctors are sadistic mad scientists who got into the profession to experiment. While I found Dr. Davison "no nonsense" in her manner, I also found her "no nonsense" about her medical care. This is a good thing. There was no agenda in her treatment of me...she listened and responded, and challenged me to follow her instructions. She was supportive of my efforts to find a healthier diet, and was not put off by my interest in a primal approach. She did labs before prescribing for me, and immediately ordered some tests to rule out some disorders. She looked thoroughly at my medical history, and is astutely interested in following up on my Polio history. I went in to her broken, and am getting fixed. She not only "did no harm", but has done a lot of good. I sense that she strips much of the blarney away from doctor visits. I am very satisfied. read more

The only review for Dr Davison is so unreasonable that I had to post my own review. Dr Davison has been our family doctor for 3 years - she came highly recommended by our friend who teaches at the UW Medical School and she did not disappoint us. She spends what seems like eternity in today's medical standard with you patiently listening to your symptoms, pains, or just plain whines about life in general and is very sympathetic. She does not hesitate to point out what she perceives as not-sound advice by other medical personnel and also will tell you what you may not want to hear if she feels that it is her duty as a caregiver to share the information (hence the first review here, I think). I have been going to Dr. Davison for years now and cannot say enough wonderful things about the quality of the care I have received with her. I always recommend her to people looking for doctors. When I am having health problems, she professionally helps me through them and Inever feelrushed during our visits. Her bedside manner is fabulous - she listens to what I have to say, asks questions and then provides her thoughts, usually with options for treatment. Fully agree with another reviewer than mentioned going to Dr. Davison feels like having a partner in my health care. I am really quite surprised to read these negative/mixed reviews about Dr. Lisa Davison. I have been seeing Dr. Davison for over 6 years and have been very pleased with her service and her personality. She's incredibly thorough - asking not only about the medical problem, but about other aspects of your life to see if that could tie into the current problem. She's very open to non-prescriptive approaches of treatment, but she's also fine with prescribing when if that's preferred or necessary. I think she has a very zen quality about her personality and really takes her time in assessing the situation. Dr. Davison has been my physician for several years, and my experience has been nothing but positive. She doesn't push pills; she discusses causes and treatment options. She is always up to date on the latest studies. She recommended Vitamin D a full year before the rest of the medical community got on board. She has recommended an acupuncturist and suggested holistic approaches. She isn't hung up on Western medicine as the only way. The name of her practice (The Middle Way) is appropriate. That said, I agree with others that her receptionist is a snit. I wonder how many patients she has run off with her indifference and flip attitude. But get beyond her, and you'll find a wonderful medical practitioner. read more

Lisa Davison has been nothing but an outstanding doctor since I started seeing her several years ago. I was looking for a doctor that spent more time with patients, was open to alternative medicine and who trusted that I know my own body when something is not right. She is all of these and more. When you see Lisa, she is the only one you see during the appointment and she not only asks you about why you are there but also about other aspects of your life that effect your well being. She is smart, competent and does not have a big ego. During a particular challenging time in my life, she called me at home on a weekend to see how I was doing! She is fabulous!!! I have been seeing Lisa for about 10-12 years. I did a thorough interview with her and other doctors prior to me taking her on as my doctor. I had gone through years of pain and discomfort and had not gotten a good diagnosis until Dr. Davison found the problem. She is supportive, direct and a great listener. I like that she is an MD that has naturopathic leanings. In other words, she is willing to suggest and let me try natural methods for healing and will also write up an allopathic prescription when necessary. I am often greeted by her dog which she brings to work with her. For a dog lover like me, it makes going to the doctor just that much better- no matter how bad I might be feeling at the time! read more

I've been seeing Dr Davison for about 10 years now. I look for a healthcare professional that I trust, respect, and personally like. She satisfies all these criteria for me. She's very knowledgable about western medicine and is not hesistant to recommend alternative medicine approaches (e.g. acupuncture) if a patient desires such advice. She doesn't use a nurse to do the history & physical before the exam, Dr Davison does this herself which allows her more time with each patient. I've recommended her to other family members, who have also liked her approach as much as I do. I can't imagine what happened with the person that gave her the bad review. A review that's long overdue. I've been seeing Dr. Davison for a few years. I just saw the other review that did not appreciate her demeanor. I find her manner calming and comfortable. Not everyone's personality will fit each others perfect. I really appreciate her bedside manner. To me, she's very friendly. What I really appreciate the most about her is as an MD, she is open to holistic and natural medicines. I never feel rushed at any appointment. I always get all my questions answered completely. I have even stuck with her though changes of insurance, because I don't want to go anywhere else. I'm very happy I found her. read more

Dr. Davison is the best Dr. I've ever had. She takes a lot of time with each visit to really understand the issues, never rushes you, whenever she's not been sure of soemthing she has said "I don't know" and called me back to follow up - most doctors never admit that they don'tknow everything! She has had very sound advice for me over the years andI would highly recommend her. I saw that one reviewer said they didn't like her because she brought up aneorexia as a possability. They didn't go into specifics, but I don't think that's a reason to dislike someone, depending on the symptoms. read more

Lisa is one of these rare doctors who spends the time to cover all your health concerns in a holistic manner. She does not hesitate to recommend other practitioners to complement her treatments, such as naturopathic doctor, mental health counselor, or massage therapist. She knows very well who are the good professionals in town and sends you to these. She often gives natural treatments instead of allopathic treatments - I prefer natural treatments, and recommends lifestyle changes. She is a very busy doctor - this proves how good a doctor she is. Dr. Davison is one of the most professional and talented MD's in Seattle. She is extremely knowledgeable of both conventional and alternative approaches to issues, works collaboratively with patients, takes time to be thorough, researches and reviews cases with peers when necessary, and provides outstanding referrals (to P.T., acupuncture, etc.) on request. Because she listens and tries to help connect the dots, we have figured out some medical issues together that other doctors dismissed.
