I've never been so confused at an eating establishment. There are dogs. I like dogs...I have a dog...but do they never accidentally pee or poop inside? Menu is really big, a bit too many options so I had to stare at it for quite a while. Food is decent. I had a Chicago style dog and chili cheese fries. My son had a cheeseburger and fries. We had two fountain drinks. The total was $40. Inflation or are these particular prices unreasonable? I don't know, but $40 for a burger, a Chicago style hot dog, two fries (to be fair, one was chili cheese fries), and two fountain drinks seems excessive. Service was pleasant. Stopped by Dawg Park in the Glen and tried the lemongrass chicken sandwich. It was good, but a little on the dry side--definitely could've used some extra seasoning or sauce. My daughter had the smoky BBQ sandwich and my son went with a hotdog, and they both absolutely loved their picks. Ordered chicken tenders as a safe bet at a new spot, and they smelled (and tasted) like they came out of a dirty fryer....which they probably did because you could also see the smoke coming off the deep fryers. Freezer to fryer to plate. What a bizarre ambience...advertising beer, but two tv screens, one playing Peppa Pig, the other a loop of dog videos. This is a cute, dog themed hotdog and burger restaurant. They have a fairly large menu of unique hotdog creations that can also be made as a burger or bowl (with rice or diced potato). They also have apps and shakes. The staff (owner possibly?) was super kind and friendly. The pricing here is a bit high, with most hotdogs around $9 and does not include any sides. Milkshakes are also $9. The restaurant was clean, but also pretty empty. There is a play area as well, and some unique seating. The food is served in dog bowls, which may be cute or off-putting depending on how into the theme you are. One of the staff (owner possibly?) had a crying baby on a zoom call, and the volume was turned up so loud you could hear it across the restaurant. This went on for quite some time (10 minutes at least). I get being a parent, but I'm not sure why he didn't just turn it down a bit so it wouldn't bother everyone in the restaurant. The food portions are pretty good. They still don't quite justify the price in my opinion, but you almost certainly won't need more than one of these hotdogs. The ingredient quality is excellent. I am especially a fan of the split top buns they use for the hotdogs, similar to what you would get a lobster roll on or something similar. They use jumbo Vienna Beef hotdogs (the best brand). The combinations however, fall a bit flat for me. I asked several people who had been here as well, and they also felt the combinations were not very cohesive and balanced. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but not something I would go out of my way to eat again. I think if their flavor combinations were better, or their prices lower, this might be a more compelling offering, but as it stands, it perfectly fits Yelp!'s definition of 3 stars, "OK". read more

The longer version is this is a unique stop for comfort food like burgers, fries, bowls, and other sandwiches. There's something on the menu for everyone, though I would say the avocado and bacon cheeseburger and teriyaki grilled chicken sandwich I tried here in the past couple months tasted a bit mediocre. Prices were a bit steep for the quality of food. The fries are overly salty. Milkshakes look appealing but lack in flavor delivery, esp since they're $10 a pop. We came here with the grand-darlings and their mom for an elementary school fundraiser.  It's a fun kind of place for the kiddos and for families that might want to bring their dog(s) in with them, as they are welcome.  There were no dogs here tonight though and it was a dinner crowd of mostly school families.  You order at a touch screen and  it takes a little time to complete an order as you are prompted for sandwich and hot dog optional adders and such.  They could probably use another touch pad as there was only one and we fortunately beat a crowd that came behind us.  There were two staffers on duty and they were kept pretty busy. Our party of 5 had: - Smoky BBQ burger, $11.99 (mine) - California BLTA burger, $11.99 - Lemongrass grilled chicken sandwich, $11.99 - Kids' mac n cheese, $5.99 - Plain dawg, $5.99 - A couple orders of fries, $2.99 each. The food total was $58.09 and it was ok tasting but nothing to write home about.  The burgers were tall and messy and the fries were over-salty.  They do offer a pretty good variety of flavors for their dawgs and burgers.   We also later ordered an oreo shake and a chocolate mousse shake for dessert.  These were $8.99 a piece and while refreshing and not overly sweet, they were also watered down.  It also took quite a while to get these (about 30 minutes) after ordering as there were 5 labor-intensive shakes ordered ahead of ours. I was the recipient of a $5 off coupon for my birthday. I took myself to lunch. I visit this place before but every time I come, the staff is amazing, food is great. Your food is served in a dog bowl. Yes, it is! So much fun. Servings are huge so you won't walk away feeling hungry. They allow dogs in the restaurant and even have a separate menu for the pets. I appreciate their attention to detail in certain aspects. The furniture within the restaurant was cute and dog/pet themed. The place was clean and presentable. As soon as I found a dog friendly restaurant with a Frenchie in the logo, I knew I had to bring mine to check it out! There are a lot of options on the menu, and I was excited to try the Asian inspired items. There was something for everyone to enjoy - even the kids and pups. They serve the food in the dog bowls, which is hilarious. They are also very nice to offer a disposable bowl so we can give some water to our dog. In the back corner, they have giant jenga style blocks and giant Connect 4 games, which kept my kids entertained for a while. I didn't learn until I was leaving that you can also order food for your dog - a bowl of white rice with chicken or another protein. Yesterday my wife put in an order through thei website at 7:30 pm and scheduled a 8:40 pm pickup as I would be close by and could get it right after work and their hours said to 9pm Before leaving work I got a phone call I couldn't answer. Once out I checked the message. Somehow my pickup time got changed to 8:35 and the message started "are you going to pick up your order, the tablet says pick up at 8:35 it's 8:33, so are you going to come pick up your order because we are going to close right now" I called back and let them know I was 6 minutes away, however I should not be getting a call minutes before I'm scheduled to pick up the order. I take it 20 minutes home and immediately notice it is very cold. More than the time it took to pick up and take home cold. As now they were closed I waited til a few minutes ago to call and complain. I got the same employee who left the message who let me know they make the food when it comes in on the tablet, so my food had just sat there for over a hour, and all they could do was say sorry. read more

It makes me sad to post a negative review but this experience requires it; Lousy ketchup, charging for pickle and chopped onions. The hotdog was $4.99 before tax. I would gladly pay a little more to have all reasonable condiments and toppings (pickle, onion) than have it tacked on afterwards. It feels cheap, sneaky, and certainly not customer friendly! The man argued with me re: upcharge for "vegetables." Didn't understand why it bothered me. Interesting to learn, I am not the first to complain about the unbelievably vile ketchup. He said something about trying to get Heinz but couldn't. I've been here a few times over the years and have never seen nor tasted Heinz. I told him so after he lied to my face. The bun was confusing because it was a top split bun. These buns are common in New England but, in my experience, rare in Chicago. Stopped here for the cookie shake. It was so sweet and so delicious. They coat the outside with chocolate and little mini cookies and top it off with a big cookie. First time coming here, we walked in and it very nice inside, but it seems like this place is more for people with dogs. You can bring dogs into the restaurant. They have a big menu on the wall and they have menus on counter as well. I sat down to take a second to see what to order. They have two TV's, so while you wait you can watch. You have to order at the counter and when your food is ready you have to go pick it up. They will give you a number card, once food is ready you handed it to person at counter. I ordered a cheesy Italian beef and it tasted just like the one you buy at the store and slap on a roll. The bread was dry since they didn't wet it. For the cheesy name of it no where to be seen it was a blob of cheese as pictured. The meat was still cold that's why you see dry cheese. I got three burgers California blt, muddy burger and teriyaki ranch burger. The California is more like a regular burger with all toppings and just add avocado. The meat had a very weird taste. Don't know if it was bad meat or a seasoning but I didn't eat it. The fries don't come with the burgers it's an additional add on. The muddy burger had to be the best thing here, the meat is deep fried with a tempura batter. The teriyaki ranch burger was not something I liked. I would not order again,it was drench in teriyaki sauce and it killed the flavor. Something I didn't like was the food was already cold when we received it. They also serve your food in dog bowls which can be pretty cool for people who want to be in trend but I was not a fan of it. They offer beer and milkshakes that are loaded with things and looked very good. The cost of the food and add on was pretty pricey. I had the lemongrass chicken bowl, which was served over a choice of rice or diced potato. I chose the rice. The flavors were good and the portion was plenty for lunch. My parents both had beef and pork hotdogs and enjoyed them. If I could change anything, it would be to eliminate the foil bowl that lined the metal dog bowl, or to offer recycling for it. Dawg Park is located in the middle of the Glen strip! It is a pet friendly restaurant, that is themed after a dog park. They have a fun dog painting as well as lawn games, and a neon light and grass backdrop. We had the Thai fries which were fantastic! My husband had the hot garlic burger and I had the lemon grass chicken. The burger was delicious, and the lemon grass chicken was served in a dog bowl which was very fitting to the theme. We also tried two milk shakes. The strawberry cake and the Cookie Monster one. The strawberry cake tastes like a strawberry cheesecake but in shake form, while the Cookie Monster tastes like cookie dough. Lastly we decided to share the Smirnoff sunrise drink! It was delicious! It was served in a bucket and is a pretty hefty portion. Thankfully we shared it! We've been here before, so we decided to try it again, but something has changed - and not in a good way. First, the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night, which should've been our first clue. My wife ordered a plain cheddar cheeseburger, and it was brought to the table with onion, lettuce, tomato, and some sauce. When I brought it back up to the counter to point out that it was made wrong, the employee gave me such an attitude. Then it was brought back to the table cold. Why, you ask? Because they just removed the toppings and brought back the same burger without remaking it. My wife is convinced that they over-seasoned the second burger, because it was inedible. By this time, I didn't even feel like bringing it back. My wife is known to be picky, so I tried it, and it was awful. The burgers used to be delicious and grilled, but now they're just greasy. They also charged me .70 for a pickle on my burger. Who does that? Nobody. We're voting with our wallet, so we won't be returning again. Maybe the ownership changed, but it's not what we remember from previous visits. Decided to bring my fur baby with me this time around to try and get her more socialized. She wanted to make friends with everyone so it was all sensory overload but overall she did well. I was pleased to find out that they had something for her since her humans were famished and needed dinner. They gave us a foil bowl for her water and gave us the option of beef and rice or chicken and rice for the fur baby at $5 which is about a kid's meal. After a day of running errands and being on the go, hubs and I were starving. He wanted a burger and the Dawg Park popped up on my search. It sounded intriguing and it was on the way home so we stopped in. It was a weekday and around 2pm. Immediately greeted by the owner and he was so friendly, patient, and helpful with explaining the menu to us. Hubs settled on the bbq burger and I wanted the Philly cheesesteak. The fries we shared. I also got a matcha green tea shake. It was chilly in the restaurant but being that it's 2pm on a weekday, we completely understand the need of a small family owned business to save some money to keep them business. We kept our jackets on and it was perfectly OK. The food? - OH EM GEEEE!!! So delicious! The first bite to the last was so yummy! My husband and I were happy to bring our niece and nephew to Dawg Park yesterday, thinking they would love the swing seats and the dog theme, which they did. When ordering the kids meals, the cashier asked what they wanted to drink and if fries were okay. I asked if they were included in the kids meal. I was told yes, so I said fries were okay and they would each have a fountain drink.After ordering for the kids and myself, my husband ordered and paid, while I took the kids to select our seats. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the receipt today and see that we were charged for the kids' drinks and fries. I specifically asked about what was included, because both kids are not big eaters, so if these extras weren't included, I would have not ordered fries or maybe had the split an order. Same for the drink--it is not a kid size, but a large cup. One would have been more than enough for them to split. So, a 5.99 kids meal really is 12.47. Ridiculous because I asked. Kids had bagel dogs which were fine, but the order of mac and cheese (kids) was awful. It was like a pile of overcooked watery pasta with cheese mixed in. Neither liked it, and my husband and I both tasted it and agreed it was bad. I didn't complain, figuring things like this happen, but now that I see how much we paid for it, I am complaining. I also believe that our bill was rung up so that we were charged the max amount for each item, rather than putting them together, so it would be less, as it is listed on the menu.
