Looking for something besides highway fast food offerings, I asked the gentleman at the store if there was anywhere good to eat. He directed me to this place where the bartender was great, the back patio was good dog friendly, and the candied bacon BLT (add cheddar) contained the best candied bacon I have ever had. It was delicious! The unsweet tea actually tasted fresh brewed, not over stewed, and was refreshing. I will definitely make the short detour any time I travel up or down the 71 during their open hours.

The sauce tastes like the standard Franks Red Hot, and has never skimped. I do not recall if there was extra charges for celery and dressing. I also tried out the burger. Nice grilled char on the exterior with a juicy bite. The toppings were crisp and fresh. I thought the fries were standard with most being crisp. The bartender was too busy hotboxing the back alley to pour a drink on time, and when he finally wandered in, he smelled like Bob Marley's sock drawer. The manager--some cranky old lady who looked like she's been mad since Reagan was in office--actually yelled at my kids for laughing too loud, like joy was against health code. But hey, if you like your crust dry, your service stoned, and your children scolded by someone's bitter meemaw, this spot's a five-star disaster.
