When it came time to make the payment, I attempted to pay twice, but both times I was told that the card machine was broken. At the time, I was eight months pregnant. Shortly after, I had to be induced early due to complications. Five days after giving birth, I suffered a severe hemorrhage and went into cardiac arrest. Doctors performed CPR on me for about 30 minutes, and I was placed in a coma for two weeks. When I woke up, I had undergone multiple surgeries and had to learn how to walk again. My entire focus during that time was on surviving and recovering. Because of everything that happened, the payments had completely slipped my mind and I had honestly forgotten all about it during my recovery. During that time, the owner contacted me regarding two missed payments totaling $2,700. She told me that emails had been sent, but I never received any communication. When I explained the medical emergency and everything I had been through, I was met with a very rude response and was told that I needed to pay the full amount immediately or I would be sued. I never said that I wouldn't pay what was owed. However, I was extremely disappointed by the complete lack of compassion and understanding given the life-threatening situation I had just gone through. I was given no time or flexibility to arrange payment, even though I had been unable to work for quite some time due to multiple surgeries and a long recovery. A little compassion and understanding during such a difficult time would have made a big difference.

Several snow sheds or whatever they might be actually called. Large covered concrete pads with several picnic tables beneath. A large fireplace typically on one end and perhaps even some dried aged firewood stocked for a family reunion or a scouts den gathering. Which was precisely what brought me to this very place the first time many years ago. Just about one mile west of Cross Plaines Wisconsin. One mile and change, just beyond the second bend along hwy 14 due west, turn right and up the steep hill, and as the road veers left, you'll notice a drive on the right. Veer into this little siding and a parking lot for maybe a dozen or so. The paved road continues to a Y. Go right. I believe, per my recollection it's a one way loop. This is a small but spacious wild area. Several acres, maybe even 20. I can't recall. I've visited 2-3 times in the previous decade. Almost always nearly vacant of anyone, except myself it seemed. The loop if followed to its furthest point, had a short side road. This led to what I recall as being the viewpoint that look across the highway you exited down below and offers an expansive vista that is most likely a very lovely western sunset at the peak of many a day year round. Another of the side roads venturing beyond the circular drive is another high point which I imagine (I don't think I ever wandered that direction) might spy the western edge of the little town, though I believe as I am recollecting as I write, there is a bluff obscuring that visual. Not a mammoth park. Not at all but a great place to sit and enjoy a quiet moment or to go full on and have a fantastic reunion of the family or friends alike.

It's a small shop staff wise so you may have to wait a bit sometimes if there's lots of customers in the but any wait is worth the expert personal service you receive. Still shooting my Hoyt Vectrix that I bought her years ago and I can still punch through deer out to 40 yards (my limit). This is my 2022 buck shot with the Hoyt, Gold tip arrows, QAD rest and trophy ridge 5 pin sight all set up by Jon himself. NEVER shop for bows anywhere else! Good luck out there!

I have been stopping into Little Jon's Archery since 2013, so this is a review on my culmination of…read morevisits. In 2013, I decided that it was time to upgrade my bow. I had been shooting an old Mathews that I had been using for about 10+ years. Knowing that I was going to need a bow that had a longer draw length (I am 6'5") I did some research before I arrived. The staff is knowledgeable at Little Jon's but I think it's really a good idea to look at what they carry and do some research before you go in to pick a bow and shoot them. I was between a Mathews and a Bowtech. I ended up going with a Bowtech Experience. The owner was very helpful with assisting me select a bow and answered any questions I had. I was unsure on what brands and types of accessories I wanted. Although I had a general idea of what I wanted, I didn't have anything set in stone. The team was very helpful with selecting a sight (5-pin), arrow rest and arrows. I picked out my quiver and stabilizer without any assistance. When my bow was put together it was paper tuned to select the best arrow for the bow. Coincidentally the arrow that was the best was also one of the most expensive, Gold Tip. If I had to do it again, I would go with less expensive arrows. Since I am not going out West and attempting 70 yard shots, I believe that a less-expensive (not cheap though) arrow would work just fine on whitetail and turkey at 20-50 yards. This is the set-up I ended up going with: Bowtech Experience, AXT Headhunter 5-pin sight, Trophy Taker Smackdown drop away arrow rest, Trophy Ridge Stabilizer, Fuse quiver, Gold Tip arrows and Dirt Nap Gear D.R.T broadheads (not sold in their store). All together my set up was around $1,500 for everything. I have been back with my bow several times and the staff are always willing to help out and answer questions, but sometimes it takes a while to get help. On a couple of occasions I have waited 30 min to an hour to be helped. But that's if you are going during the busy time of the year (also those that help you in the store are most of the times the ones working on bows) Little Jon's also has an outdoor range that I have used as well as video archery. If you are looking for some very personal help and years of experience (owner) you should go to Little Jon's. I got tired of being helped at the big box stores by employees that knew less than I did. Great walking trail tucked away in Waterloo. The trail has a few nice loops throughout the…read morepreserve. It was a bit muddy with the snow thawing but the perfect place to get outside for a long walk. It's very quiet and the trails are well marked. Note, dogs must be leashed here.

This park is easy to miss. Competing with James Madison Park, this park is way too tiny! It's…read morelocated at the end of Castle street. While it's too small for a park, we can still enjoy the pretty Mendota from the tiny hill on the park. It has only one bench but shady. I can imagine some comfortable moment lying down on the grass and meditate at the same time. As it's easy to miss, this park seems to have only few visitors. This can be another alternative if James Madison Park is too crowded. Not a shabby choice.

My wife and I participated in the 5K and it has been our favorite race so far! The route was…read moreperfect. A little hilly sometimes but completely challenging in a good way. The race ended right on the water and all runners over 21 could enjoy a post race beer right on the terrace. We got to relax and enjoy a drink while listening to live music. All 5 runners do get an awesome medal! Parking is a little hard but try to park in a parking structure near the start line. I think I paid $5 in total. After the race, it was great to experience the worlds largest farmers market down in the square - don't miss it!

Madison Mini-Marathon is what I wish the Madison Marathon was like…read more It's unfortunately run by a group in Indiana rather than a local organization or chamber of commerce, but it's hard to resist this race regardless. Their race course was so well planned out. It hits all the highlights of Madison and ends with a beer on the terrace. It's by far my favorite half marathon in the Madison neighborhood. The half marathon starts at the Memorial Union terrace, runs up Langdon past Frat Row, cuts over to the Capitol via Wisconsin Ave, gets you a nice view of the Farmer's Market in the summer before sending you down State Street. Southwest bike trail, Picnic point, Lakeshore Path, UW Arboretum, and ending back at the Memorial union are all highlights of this course. I really enjoy that the medal doubles as a bottle opener in true Wisconsin fashion. The course is relatively flat. The race is in August so there's always a danger of hot temperatures but it's been in the 60s at the start the last couple of years. Many things about this race reads like a love letter to Madison. Parking is not so easy. But I live in Madison so I sort of knew the ins and outs. Might be tough for out of towners. There's also a 5k event and I believe they also give out medals for that.
