I am surprised at some of the reviews here. While Liam makes some good points, that is by no means my experience. After an initial consultation in person with Christian, I received an estimate that was held to. A big factor for me was two-fold, I needed a contractor who was easy to communicate with in English and someone who could take direction remotely as I managed this project in Puerto Rico from New Jersey. They were contracted to install flooring tile in four bedrooms. Not only did they leave everything very clean but they also assisted me in disposing of a fair amount of materials (old carpeting, old furniture, misc). Christian was always available by phone or text. I was also pleased that his costs were for labor only, as I would pay Home Depot directly over the web and he would fetch the material. I had high hopes for Christian, but after paying him, and spending a day cleaning up after a mess his team left, we've noticed the finishing was poor and we've had leaks and plumbing issues. Not a place for estimates. Christian sent pics of jobs in progress but no credentials. Just before scheduled appointment, wanted an extra $75 for his visit. My trouble with such concealed disclosures is that DAX gave no assurance his organization was qualified or licensed or insured. If you want to charge folks for the benefit of your insight, CO, at least post your intention here. Also, I pointed out to him that so many scammers in this market make the idea of paying someone presumably unqualified to bid is absurd. So this is likely no different than the other scams. Believe me, the qualified bidders are going to be so successful in this market that they simply won't answer you if you reach out. But in case of CO, he did not reveal any qualifications and then pressed for compensation as if that hurdle was already passed. No thanks. Not good. Epic story telling, personal opinion. I contacted Christian for a consultation and he came out to Caguas next day free of charge. I got two handrails installed for a staircase in a house which required them for safety in order to be resold. The work was prompt and Christian was very polite. The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was the price. One of the rails was metal and one was wood, both were installed into concrete and tile, but it was just over $3100. Maybe that's just standard with material prices going up so much, I'm not sure, but I was expecting about half that. read more
