First time coming here to get my widsom tooth taken out! ( had to take 4 out) I went in for a consultation and an x-ray before I had my surgery. Everything was straightforward and made me feel very comfortable. The staff was amazing and friendly and I would definitely come back again if I have problems with my teeth in the future. I got my wisdom tooth taken out on October 18 yesterday and everything went out perfectly fine. I wasn't bloated and it almost look like I didn't get my teeth taken out because everything was done the right way. Dr. Maguire was my surgeon and he was terrific. I am scared when it comes to needles but he made it painless and quick! I got prescribed pain meds right away and now I can move and talk just fine! My family and I have gone to Day Hill Dental for over 24 years. I was a dental assistant and worked for an amazing progressive dentist so when we moved to Windsor it took some time to switch to a local dentist. Right from day one I knew we were in good hands with all the staff. They were kind and helpful. I have never felt pressured making a decision when given a recommended treatment plan. Have had a great experience with the dental care have received there but as a patient for many years have found some major concerns with their billing processes. Have been repeatedly billed for services that I didn't receive during my visit to the point where have started double checking what was logged in their system before leaving my appointment. Have additionally been sent bills that didn't reflect my insurance had covered the bulk of cost already; and the bill was instead requesting me to pay out of pocket for the same services my insurance had covered. Since I've never received reimbursements for over payment am not sure there's a lot of double checking going on to ensure billing is appropriate and not duplicative or unnecessary. It's hard to provide that feedback - because the service and people there are amazing - but the billing is pretty troublesome at this point, so want to be sure to share this with others so they don't pay something they can't afford or that was, in fact, an unnecessary or duplicative payment. read more

The Nordstrom of Dentistry! I can't begin to express my admiration for this business but I will try. I visited for a routine cleaning g and exam in December. The hysgeinist was VERY thorough and also quite gentle. No pain or bleeding! Upon review of my X-rays it became clear I would need some pretty extensive work. The doctor was very clear I. His explanation of what would be optimal treatment and laid out all the facts and options for me. Since my insurance is about to run out the office staff worked very hard to accommodate my need for several appointments in a timely fashion. I am now in the middle of my treatment and going for a final appointment in a few weeks. So far I am quite pleased. To be continued...well I have just had my BEAUTIFUL new crowns done and I am speechless. They are so beautiful and realistic. I can't believe the attention to detail and the care with which I was treated. Sometimes I catch a glance of myself laughing or talking when I'm out with friends and I want to cry with happiness! I felt completely played by this office, and it has made me petrified of going to the dentist. First, my dentist, Dr. Chu, came off as condescending judgemental and rude when discussing my teeth, making worse the fear of being embarrassed about the state of my hygiene. He was so rough when filling my cavities I had bruising around my jaw, and I had to beg them to redo X rays when I was feeling discomfort post fillings. After they begrudgingly took the X rays, they admitted that the fillings were done a little crooked but they would fix it for free. That day the "scheduling system was down" and was told to call back for the appointment. I called maybe 4 or 5 times over the course of a month, only to be told every time that the system was down and I couldn't be scheduled. The whole thing was was sketchy and felt clear that they were trying to discourage me from getting their mistake fixed. I've been so ashamed to go to the dentist after my experiences here, afraid I'll be judged and shamed for my teeth, and since then 2 of the 8 fillings I received have fallen out, furthering that the fillings were likely done improperly. Today I'm in pain from a filling coming out, and I wish I had pushed harder to get the mistake fixed. I think they are a money making machine. I was a first time patient but get my teeth cleaned every 6 months for years. I have always had a problem with tartar build up and my cleanings usually involve quite a bit of scraping. Here, the dental hygienist did a water pic cleaning, then scraped a few teeth and told me I had to come back for a real cleaning in 3 weeks - which my insurance won't pay for so it would be $125 out of pocket. What a load of garbage! I am 49 years old and this has never happened to me. They are in it for the extra money they can make. Now I have to pay out of pocket to go to a real dentist to get a real cleaning. Scam. read more

Dr. Chu is such a great doctor. He makes sure you're comfortable and makes sure that you understand the work he is doing. The ladies in the office are super nice and help you if you have any questions. Their late evening (Wednesday) is very convenient for me since I work in MA and drive down to Windsor for my appointments (the distance is worth it). The hygienists are all incredibly nice and thorough with what they do. I am always impressed with the new gadgets they use whenever I visit. They truly care about their patients and care about providing the treatments available. read more

Great place if you are older .... DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT bring your small children! Although they claim to be a "family" dental practice, including children, they are NOT. My six year old needed a cavity filled. Needless to say she was taking awhile as she was nervous. Despite the doctor seemingly being patient (and assuring me afterwards that dealing with slow, anxious kids is normal) they eventually kicked out my daughter and my wife when it seemed the procedure was taking too long! They had already given my daughter the Novocaine shot!!! I called the doctor personally to find out the issue, and despite telling me everything was normal, he claimed he didn't want to stress my daughter out by pushing the issue. Guess what doc, making my six year old start ALL over with a brand new doctor (not to mention watching my wife cry in the parking lot) is way more stress on my kid!! DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN ... Day Hill Dental does not book enough time necessary to deal with small children and will kick you out when their bottom line is threatened and you cut into other appointments. read more
