This bakery is one of my new favorites. Workers are kind and they offer a variety of breads, pastries, drinks (coffee, wine, cider, etc.). Had the baguette sandwich with broccolini and it was so flavorful. The chocolate chip cookie was the right amount of chewy, crispy, and salty. There's some seating inside as well as a parklet for when Outer Sunset weather cooperates. Overall, definitely worth making a trip out here if you're a baked good enthusiast. read more

OMG, I LOVE DAY MOON. Adorable shop with super nice employees and a laid back atmosphere. It's a small menu with bakery items (scones/galettes/sandwiches) changing weekly to highlight seasonal ingredients. I have to go every week so I don't miss their latest!! It's a small cafe with limited seating but it's perfect to grab a drink and a bite to go. The girl ringing us up was friendly and the man making the drinks was super efficient even though it was busy. I had the sesame sandwich and i was surprised by how good it was. Wow one of the best bakeries in sf and my new favorite. This is the review for a loaf of seeded bread and the baguette. The best baguette I've ever had. Perfect firmness of the bread. The outside was crunchy and the inside was moist. The seeded bread also had a great crunch on the outside and inside was so soft and chewy. Easily the best I've had too. The service was quick and staff were sincere. Really glad I journeyed out to outer sunset and it was worth the trip. Next time I want to try one of the sandwiches with seasonal ingredients. Perfect sunset bakery. We had a cortado and cappuccino, which were exceptionally made. We shared the baguette sandwich. The baguette had a crisp exterior and soft interior. Best chocolate chip cookie ever! Seriously really glad I discovered this place. I love the scones and the cookies are some of the best I've ever tried personally. The plum I tried was a plum scone I believe and had fresh plum baked in it. It had a sweet and tangy taste that went well with the rest of the scone pastry. I love how it's nearby to me and I can just stop by if I'm craving one of those cookies. read more

We've been in a couple of times. The baguette is amazing. The pear scone is big enough to share and lovely. Today the baguette wasn't out of the oven til 11 so we picked up a few new things to try. Potato leek hand pie is so good and flaky. The savory chive scone is very flavorful with a nice crumb. The ginger molasses cookie is perfect. Very gingery with a hint of molasses. I feel so spoiled having Day Moon near me! I had been hearing about this new little bakery in my area and decided to give it a try after seeing a lot of people there one weekend. I got there a few mins before opening, and already there were people lining up. They have a nice selection of bread loaves and baguettes (which I did not try) as well as pastries. There were scones, galettes, cookies, but I was in the mood for something savory. I got the sesame bun with cheese and butter, and wow. It was exactly what I was hoping for: fresh, warm, rich and delicious. They have some seating inside, both on the bar stools and a ledge along the window. There's also much more room outside in the beautiful parklet. I really can't wait to go back and try more goods. I'm glad it's only open on the weekends otherwise I'd be spending a lot of money here everyday! read more

I think this is a great place to go for their delicious breads, but pastries are expensive and often small slices compared to other well known bakeries in the city (one of which even offers seniors a discount on 2 days during the week). There are usually lines on the weekends, so make sure you aren't in a hurry. Oh, and this bakery isn't open early and currently closed M-W. read more

This is a 5 star establishment. Perhaps the best scone one could find west of the Mississippi. Immaculate breads. Incredible vibes. Wonderful service. XL dream location. However, the one thing I would love to see different is the crushed ice. There are incredible, thoughtfully crafted coffee beverages here. As a purveyor of iced coffee though, I feel there is a low hanging opportunity to take the iced drinks to the next level with a more traditional cut of ice. A large cube would be truly ideal, but any larger cut of ice would really take this establishment to the next level. I realize this gripe with the ice might sound petty, but this small change would surely elevate this already great establishment into a cultural institution for generations to come. read more

Visited Day Moon for the first time located in the Outer Sunset. The building was super cute and parking wasn't hard to find on a Sunday morning. Lots of good looking options but decided to go for the strawberry scone and chocolate chip cookie. The strawberry scone was nice and buttery with fresh, tart strawberries inside. The chocolate chip cookie was very good and the texture was unlike your average chocolate chip cookie. I hope to return to try of their bread loaves that they offer! I was shocked at how good the little loaf of seeded bread I bought was. I'm a big fan of the Outerlands bread, but this was equally good in a different way I've never tasted anything like it, it was excellent. I immediately started planning my next trip to get another loaf. read more

We were near Ocean Beach around the noon hour, hungry for food, and found Day Moon. We ordered two heirloom tomato with pesto baguettes, plus a baguette, and raisin bread for home. All wonderful.
