Absolutely delicious food. Servers were very attentive with coffee refills and asking if we needed anything. The fact that there are several different eggs Benedicts makes me want to try them all!! The kalua pork and avocado bacon ones I have had and loved. The ube pancakes and chicken and waffles were also big hits in my family. I can only speak to the Marriott Bonvoy Elite complimentary breakfast options. I think the selection is actually very good and doesn't force you to upgrade to a decent meal like many other properties in the Marriott portfolio. I thought the made-to-order omelette station was absolutely the best part of the breakfast buffet offering and the fresh fruit was also great. Not much to say about the breakfast. We were staying at the hotel for 7 nights and had the buffet most of the times. It's average, small, always exactly the same, good Omelettes,... that's it. But, the hostess is, by far, the rudest and least motivated person I met in a hotel customer facing position... 0 out of 7 times that she greeted us first, slow, very rude attitude, arrogant, almost screaming at us once,... we were at this hotel before and she stuck out as bad already then. Two eggs over medium. Too often a challenge for the cook. But here at Daybreak, those eggs were absolutely perfectly done to my order. Nice big serving of bacon too! My server was efficient and friendly, as were the other employees who brought out the food, cleared the tables, etc. The only "missing star" was for the hostess. The woman with the attitude. This hotel breakfast spot in the lobby of the Sheraton has the best damn breakfast on the island hands down. What a shocker. We tried nearly every item on the menu and their food was superb. So why the lousy reviews in the past? I suspect (1) this is the pandemic menu with only take out options and (2) they must've changed chefs or management bc this place was out of this world. You must try the mochi pancakes. So delicious. Fluffy and crisp on the outside. Sweet. Very unique. For healthy eaters, the papaya yogurt parfait and the oatmeal are excellent. I also thought the breakfast burrito with Portuguese sausage was to die for. Open from 7-11 am. They let you grab the take out boxes and eat at the restaurant or seats near the front. Very very good. We had it delivered to our room so we didn't have a chance to sit in the restaurant itself. But the food was amazing. I highly recommend the Benny with the Kalua Pork it is to die for. My wife got the Avocado toast and loved it as well. Highly recommend giving this place a shot if you're in the area! read more

We stayed at the Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort and ate here 2x, it was so good! Each time we got something different to share- Açaí Bowl is large and so delicious, Egg white frittata is filled with mushrooms and spinach and has such great flavor, Avocado Toast did not disappoint and Sunrise breakfast is great basic but the Bacon is the best I've ever had! We stayed at this Sheraton so, for us, we were just able to walk down to this breakfast place. It is in a hotel, so expect it to be pricey for what it offers. The food and service are excellent but expect to pay a premium. You might want to discover other local spots in Kauai than this one if you're up for it. Glad we decided to go here for breakfast. The mochi ube pancake is so delicious. I ate every bite of it. My husband had the egg and meat plate with potatoes and the serving is huge. Not sure how he was able to eat them all. But the best plate we think was the loco moco. Forget the beef patty, but the gravy all over the rice was so good!! We passed that plate around. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I never leave reviews but this place was so bad I felt like I needed to. We got there around 9:50 on a Sunday morning the hostess was reading the newspaper and seemed bothered when we walked in. Our waitress came over promptly and asked if we would have the buffet. We said we may order from the menu and she told us that the kitchen closes at 10 so if we wanted to order from the menu it would have to be in the next ten mins, she then walked away from our table and disappeared. So... we all ended up going for the buffet. No big deal. Except it was a huge deal when we saw what they were actually serving. The eggs bene platter was two soggy pieces of toast with one egg and salami (I think) hollandaise sauce sliding off the side. The scrambled eggs were in water. At least I hope it was water. The assorted meats and cheeses were covered with flies. Everything looked like it had been out for hours, most of the options were running low or empty. It took 45 mins for the kitchen to get their act together to replace the empty trays. My husband had an omelet and had to wait 10 mins for the omelet dude to emerge from the kitchen. I saw another person ask one of the kitchen staff If there was ketchup at the buffet. The staff member rudely said "ask your waiter" and turned away. I tapped her on the shoulder and showed her the ketchup which was near the cream cheese. When we went to pay I had to get up and find our waitress. I actually had to walk into the kitchen to give her our credit card. She was just sitting back there. HERE'S THE CHERRY: We drove into town to go to Costco and about 15 mins into shopping all of our stomachs cramped. We all got sick. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Hotel buffets: I've had a range of experiences, mostly mediocre and a few pretty good. So going in, I tend to lower my expectations. Even so, the Sheraton's Daybreak Restaurant's Christmas Eve buffet disappointed mightily. There were basically four sections. First, the fruit section with the usual assortment of melons and tiny slices of papaya. They left the skin on the papaya which made it incredibly difficult to eat - I guess to discourage guests from eating too much of it LOL. The salad section was next with bowls of lettuce and spinach, a few toppings and a choice of dressings and some rolled up luncheon meat. It was a mystery what was "Christmasy" about the "Christmas Salad" which was just a bowl of lettuce. Third section was the sides, rice, risotto, potatoes, etc. nothing special. The fourth and last section was the meat section. For Christmas you expect something special right? Nope, just ham and prime rib. That's it. Just 2 proteins, no fish, no chicken, no lamb, nothing! Oh, there were 2 or 3 desserts not worthy of any bakery chef. To add insult to injury, after paying nearly $100 a piece, they charge extra for coffee and beverages! I've had better at a Hilton breakfast buffets! read more
