This was the 1st time I've EVER been to a public clinic, however, because I lost my health insurance, and can't afford to pay out of pocket for my PCP (which I have had for over 18 years and still go to), AND a Psychiatrist, I called around and was referred to Daymark. Today I saw Dr. William Randall Lay III. He was rude, disrespectful, mean, and downright unprofessional. He came off as not even wanting me in his presence, via video call, as if I was ignorant, beneath him, and not worth his time. He constantly cut me off when I was talking, made disgusted facial expressions when I answered certain questions to the best of my knowledge/recollection from early childhood memories, and when I would get emotional, he would ask me the question again, while I'm crying uncontrollably as if he didn't have a moment to let me collect myself from some of the anxiety trigging questions he asked during this initial meeting with him. I was really looking fwd to finally opening up, and completely entrusting my mental health to a doctor in this field, and he made me feel like I was as worthless, and hopeless, as I already felt. He kept reiterating he was not prescribing me any medications, and I NEVER asked for meds...when in fact, I'm against taking a bunch of medications. I reached out to Daymark for Mental Health care, not DRUGS. To add insult to injury, he abruptly ended our video meeting by telling me to follow up with my PCP and HUNG UP. No treatment plan, no follow-up visits, no suggestions on how to cope with what I'm going through, and have been for YEARS, but has gotten increasingly worse in the past couple of years...just toss me out like a piece of trash. Please google his reviews before seeing him. I wish I had. You'll be SHOCKED at what other patients have experienced as well with this doctor years before me! I do want to add that everyone else I encountered with Daymark was VERY caring, understanding, and professional and sincerely wanted to help me. I'm very thankful the information I received about him being the only psychiatrist at that facility was incorrect. I hope I'm able to give this another shot after this traumatic experience. He basically mind-screwed me and took PLEASURE in doing so! This man is SICK in the head and may very well push someone over the edge to actually commit suicide...which he also asked me why I didn't go through with committing suicide each time I thought about it. When I didn't have an answer quick enough, he mad a weird face and said "hmph.' BEWARE OF THIS DOCTOR!!! He's DANGEROUS and should NOT be working with anyone suffering from anxiety or depression!!! read more

These people are insane. First of all, you're allowed to bring three pairs of underwear and three pairs of socks nothing else personal to a point I journal and they wouldn't even let me keep that spare glasses in case my broke. Somehow they wouldn't let me keep that it is insane. I intake was ridiculous. They put me through the paces. Maybe fill out countless forms interviewed me ultimately declined me after spending four hours there because they wanted my physician to write a letter saying I had no liver damage because I was a little jaundice. If I had no liver damage, which, show me an alcoholic that doesn't, and he can teach me how to walk on water, in essence, what they were saying, they wanted me in perfect health if they were going to take me. If I was in perfect health, I would need them. Then to make matters worse when I was declined out in the lobby this nurses aide kicked me out, because when I was turned down, I said, whatever happened to caring for the patient. She said I was being disrespectful. She's working with people going through detox and that set her off. read more

Daymark's urine drug tests can't differentiate between METH AMPHETAMINE and AMPHETAMINE (METH and ADDERALL). I was actually pleased with the same day service you guys were able to provide. And would have continued my services with DAYMARK. Unfortunately due to this huge mistake I have found another behavioral health center. Luckily I had a doctor's appointment the day before I went to Daymark in which I had to complete a urine drug test to get my Adderall for that month. Therefore that UA showed proof Daymark's test was infact a false positive. I can't afford mistakes like that. And no one else deserves to either. Very disappointed!! It almost scares me when time to take another test at the new behavior health center I've chosen. I would love to know what Lab you guys sent my urine to so I can make sure my urine is never sent to that lab again! read more

My son snapped, banged his head on the wall and was threatening to kill me. Had to have him IVC. This is not my son normally. He was treated terrible and I have to live with that memory. Stay Away from Daymark in Monroe, NC! My wife went here, the Daymark on Roosevelt, looking for help, counseling, and was open to starting the process of getting temporary medication to control panic attacks. She trusted them, was honest about her past issues and things she'd been going through, they repaid her by having her involuntarily locked up in the hospital! Kai Mitchell should not be dealing with people that have a panic disorder, the mentally ill or anyone else for that matter! Ms. Mitchell told me that she was terrified of my wife and feared for her life as well as the safety of our child, after only speaking with her for a few moments!!! She actually said my wife's grip on reality was slipping away by the minute and that if she wasn't put on a psychiatric hold my wife would kill our child within the hour! My wife is not a danger to anyone, never has been, she's an amazingly loving and nurturing mother, and is a superbly intelligent woman! She just has severe anxiety and other issues that need to be worked through that stem from childhood abuse and other trauma. The Therapists at Daymark need more training, this one should be fired! After having my wife confide in her she couldn't even have a conversation with my wife to notify her of the plan to take her to a mental ward against her will, real professional and brave! The "Doctor" was so afraid of confrontation that she made me tell my wife and said if I didn't take her right over she would get a warrant from the magistrate and that she'd be forcibly taken from our home! My wife asked that this NOT be discussed in front of our child, but Ms. Mitchell didn't give a care, she refused and began talking very aggressively (at her) saying that she could go voluntarily now or get locked up, upsetting my poor wife, causing my daughter mental anguish, and both of them left in tears! YOU ARE A COWARD! She wouldn't let me take my daughter in another room while they talked or take my wife back to her office, this was done in the playroom with my young daughter present! I can't undo what was done to her innocent mind!!! Four days later, she keeps talking about the "bad doctors" or at dinner she's "looking for those bad people" Really, Thanks A LOT! You are an insensitive (Rhymes with Witch) for the way you handled the entire situation! If you need a body guard in order to speak with a patient, you're in the wrong field! read more

This place is festering s-hole of corruption. I went there at the age of 22 to seek counceling. After a 45 minute session with a social worker, he disappeared to the back. Within 5 minutes, he comes out with the diagnosis from a doctor who ran no diagnostics, who had yet to even meet me face to face. Being young at the time and having more faith in government run healthcare than I probably should have, I continued with no improvements. When I was 20, I was diagnosed with epilepsy. My neurologist at the time when I started going warned me of the permanent damage neuroleptic, psychiatric medications such as those of anti-psychotics Seroquel and others such as Klonopin and Ativan(Benzodiazepines) and Haldol(all 3 of which I was prescribed there)which I was never made aware of by the "doctors" at Daymark...Dr. Devendra Shah. After 18 years of no improvement, only more seizures began to appear leading to further head trauma due to falls, the development of tardive dyskinesia due to the Haldol, I began to dig deeper into the untold and far damaging and permanent side effects of medications I was being prescribed. This past month, I requested my FULL medical records in which I was told upon my visit with Dr. Shah, he would release them to me...of which he did not. So they had me sign a release in which I was assured in 10 days my neurologist would receive them...he did not. I called and asked, so they put me through to "medical records" that morning to which I got an answering machine, but no call back. I went in yesterday to find out what was going on, well, my request was never filed, and the woman at the front desk told me that medical records hadn't been there in YEARS. I told the ONLY honest person there...the receptionist that I would have to take legal action to which she completely understood. Then, I get a call from the "director" who's only response was, that I would have to pay a "substantial fee" for my records if I wished to acquire them. In justified fury, I asked her to explain the continued deception of the place she's in charge of...no answer, explanation or even an apology. I have sought legal council in pursuit of a malpractice law suit. Good luck to all of you who have been deceived, manipulated and have had your lives DESTROYED by this place. There is a very good reason Daymark Mental Health has received 1 out of 5 stars. After 6 days of literally life-saving promises of approved medication to save my ass from a severe bipolar episode was told, no, we didn't say that. The promise included the director of the clinic, Stephanie, and her staff. I reached out for help from contemplating suicide and was told I was granted a new medication to augment my current prescription that was obviously not working. I had begged, cried and pleaded for help, literally, and was reassured a new prescription had been sent to my pharmacy Friday December 7. I called the pharmacy on Friday and no prescription had been received. 6 calls later...Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... no medication. No less than 8 times was I assured the script was sent on Friday the 7th. Today, Wednesday 12/12, I was informed that my doctor, Dr Wagner, denied not only my promised medication but also my current medication... I'm guessing since I had missed an appointment and I had reported him for abusive treatment, apparently not uncommon according to staff. My current lamictal medication warns not you stop taking abruptly and certainly not immediately. All of which Dr Wagner and the staff at Daymark Mental Health in Sanford NC are fine with. While this treatment may be excusable from a surly sales person, for mental health professionals it is unforgivable and possibly lethal. read more

I am from Rockingham NC. I am 57 yrs old and was very active through out my life. At 50 had 1st heart attack and with in a year had 2 more , heart surgery ,5 stints diabetes COPD OCD lung disease and the brakes are on my life now. Had severe panic attacks depression and gave up on life basically . Panic attacks were so bad they sent a ambulance to take me to the ER at Richmond Memorial here in Rockingham NC back in Nov 2017. I was sent to Daymark Recovery here in Richmond County. I needed help fast and was referred by my Internal Doc. Very unprofessional staff and no Doctors or Counselors from Nov until Jan 29 2018 before they could help me. People commit Suicide waiting on a place like this that has no concern for you. Was given an Appointment for Three months later to get any help from them. I went to Professional Firm and have gotten the help I needed sooner. This place here is nothing but a Place to send DUI court ordered Offenders to not Citizens that need help ASAP. Very RUDE when you call and they even will hang up their phone on you with out saying have a bad or good day to you. This firm here is nothing but a Legal Money Racket. DD read more
