This was the dirtiest, filthiest, smelly, moldy, run down hotel room we've ever seen. Did not feel comfortable touching anything. Did not sleep on the sheets. Slept on top of them. Did not take our socks off. Did not step in the shower. Hesitant to use the toilet. Afraid to turn the heat on, for what might come out of the vents. We had made a reservation a month or two ago, and on Oct 24, at 4pm I get an email from your organization telling me the reservation was cancelled. My credit card had been compromised a couple of weeks ago, so without any notice my reservation was cancelled. Then, I scrambled to make the second reservation and we get this complete dump of a room for an additional $50!! Attempted to address my concerns with the hotel staff the morning of the 25th. No one was around in the lobby to talk to. So we just left. I have pictures. Happy to send them so you know what this place looks like. At this time, I'm asking for a refund for Saturday , October 25.

We decided to book a two night stay at the Clarion hotel in Joliet Illinois. We had a wonderful time and will be back. The service was excellent from the front desk clerk who greeted us promptly with a warm smile, to housekeeping department who we saw in the hallway greeted and welcomed us. The room was a queen bedroom suite that was absolutely beautiful. Smelled fresh, clean in, and was stocked with all the necessary amenities. The next morning we had breakfast, which was absolutely delicious fresh waffles, that we made ourselves donuts, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and yogurt. We had a wonderful time and will be coming back thinking about making it a regular once a month thing, thank you clarion hotel for your hospitality.

Lots of restaurants nearby and within walking distance. The bad: 1. While they "recently updated" this hotel. They still have broken or damaged things in every room. The things are just surrounded by a really cool mirror or photo. 2. Clearly cleaning needs some improvement here. I found bugs around the hotel and nails all over my room from the previous guest. 3. I was there for a week and housekeeping came once to refresh the room. Like they say it's to "be green" by only coming once every three days. I was there a week and got visited once. That's not "going green". That's being lazy. 4. The pool was "closed for the season". I'm sorry, but when is your season? I came in July. Looking at your pool it is closed because you haven't maintained it. So please don't lie and actually say it's broken vs "closed for the season". Overall this hotel is beyond a cheap hotel. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not. The bad was something I couldn't overlook.

I then went back to the hotel in person that same night after the race to retrieve them. I was told that the employee couldn't check the closet where lost items were kept because someone else had the key. I called again the next day and was told that no headphones had been found. I understand that hotels can't guarantee the recovery of every item a guest leaves behind, but this was not something I noticed days or weeks later. I contacted the hotel within an hour of checking out, identified the room, and returned in person that same day. These were also bright coral full-size headphones, not a tiny or easily overlooked item. I can't say what happened to them after I checked out, but I know I left them there and I know I don't have them. The fact that I acted almost immediately and they still somehow disappeared, combined with the inability to even check lost-and-found when I returned, left me extremely dissatisfied with how the hotel handles guests' lost property. I would not feel comfortable leaving anything of value behind here and expecting to get it back.

Upon entering the room had a stale smell to it and the tv was left on. The door did not fully close, was able to lock it. We attempted to watch the NFL game and the game was being commentated in Spanish. I picked up the room phone to call the front desk and the phone did not work. I had to call from my cellphone, was told previous guests were Spanish and they had changed the setting for the tv. I was able to correct the tv issue. I go to use the bathroom and there was water all over the floor from a leaking toilet, I placed towels all over the floor. The toilet takes 3-4 minutes to fully empty when flushing. The toilet the proceeded to run, gurgle and self-flush all night. There was a huge gap between the mattress and the low headboard. The 3 provided pillows were flimsy. Woke up tired and pissed off.

Extremely firm beds. Like they will make your back hurt. 7. Paper thin walls. You will hear your neighbors having fun. 8. Random dirty marks everywhere including brand new towels they put in that day. 9. A non-existent fire alarm in my room. I feel like this is illegal? Now going back to my original statement, for $50 this is a luxury hotel. However if you want actual quality experience, go somewhere else that isn't this awful. The games itself were pretty lackluster but the party that I was with was winning big time (but then again I didn't know how much they truly lost) the bartender was pretty quiet but he was very quick and efficient. This place is still pretty busy late at night. I do feel like the casino itself is a bit outdated unfortunately and it is in need of a remodel.
