We have visited Daytrip twice in November. Once with three people and once with 5. Both times the service was outstanding. Friendly door greeter, waitstaff and everyone else we came in contact with from the diner. The decor is very clean and pleasant. They serve an exceptional breakfast. So many choices from biscuits and gravy to fantastic French toast, scramblers, skillets, pancakes, and wonderful eggs Benedict. Both times our parties all tried different things from the menu and everyone was satisfied and agreed the food was delicious. The only drawback is seating. It's really not conducive to parties over 4. Most of the place is booths which seat 4. There are only 2 or 3 tables for 4. We had to sit in a booth and one person sat on a chair at the end of the booth. It was a bit crowded with 5+ plates, coffee cups, water glasses, syrup etc. The friendly and pleasant staff and the food more than make up for the seating problems. read more

Not only was the food amazing! The service here was the best I've ever seen. I was blown away by how well run they were. Everyone was working together as a well oiled machine. The manager was incredible. She was constantly checking on everyone and she was helping in every way possible from making drinks to polishing cutlery. This may be the best breakfast place in the Grapevine/Colleyville/Southlake area. I've brought friends from Europe here and they say it's the best they've been to. Service is prompt, welcoming, and appropriately attentive. My eggs are perfectly scrambled and the sausage is cooked through but not burnt and has a savory flavor. Menu has many excellent choices and I don't think there are any bad choices. The atmosphere is an updated old school diner with generous window views and lots of natural light. Cute little diner, but not outstandingly retro or anything like that. Food's good, but not stellar. Verrry slightly elevated diner food. I had the scrambled egg sandwich with greens on brioche. It was good but could've used more toppings, honestly, as it was mostly bun. Service was just okay. I asked for ice water and got water without any ice. Daytrip Diner is a super cute and cozy atmosphere with stellar food! I got the Blooming Matcha latte, which was delicious. We got the dubliner Benedict and the salty fisherman Benedict. Both were incredible. We also split a carnival waffle that was like eating a banana split sundae and made me feel like a little kid again. So fun and yummy! First off, the food was very good! We came for brunch, so we had choices of breakfast and lunch dishes to choose from. I went lunch (BLT) and my wife had waffles and breakfast food. Delicious! It is small-ish diner setting. Very quaint. Service was prompt and pleasant. The owner (young lady) ran the front of the house: seating guests, visiting each table for their needs and satisfaction, and often serving as expo for the kitchen window. She is great! read more

Love this place for a great breakfast. The breakfast is great and portions are perfect size. I had a three egg scramble with fruit and toast which was very good. They also have a great coffee menu if you like specialty brews. The service was great and everyone working there was enthusiastic without being intrusive. The place is in the old old Waffle Way building, but it's been completely renovated. So the space is a bit limited so you may have to wait a little for a table but the day we visited (around 12:30 pm on a Saturday)we were seated immediately and they seemed to turn the tables quickly. If I could rate this greater than a 5 I would. My parents and I have been here several times and every time the food, coffee and tea, and the service is always excellent! The ambiance is so nice! I love the American flag quilt hung on the wall, the green and yellows are pleasant and complementary, not loud or overwhelming. Very nice plants and comfortable seating. I like the vintage style of the diner, but it's a nice modernized version. Everything is always fresh and hot, never had an instance where food came out cold. They have everything from classic American diner foods, to different kinds of Benedicts, to skillets, to more health conscious choices like avocado toast with microgreens, eggs, and fruit, oatmeal with honey, strawberries, and pecans, and yogurt parfait! Many of which I tried and are delicious. Many different options to choose from! Including many different options for coffee and tea! You also have the choice of getting pure maple syrup with your pancakes instead of pancake syrup which is great! The service has always been friendly to us! Highly recommend this local diner instead of a chain! Their potatoes, grits, and biscuits are some of my favorite sides besides fruit, so highly recommend those as well. read more

Ooooo...our family's new favorite! Despite the diner being busy, the staff was quick to clean tables and we were seated quickly. Our server greeted us promptly and took our coffee order. The Daytripper Latte is so good, I could have had more than one & the biscuits & gravy was just like homemade. My husband's coffee was smooth and hot & he declared his omelette as amazing. I visit this location every week as the staff are absolutely phenomenal. They are all incredibly friendly to me and make each trip so pleasant. It makes me feel so happy. Amazing little place! The interior is all mid century modern and cozy. I had a lovely lavender latte which was fresh and perfect for colder weather. I also had one of the traditional trio meals that had some of the best pancakes I've ever had! Portions were great and prices were fair. Service was spectacular and we were checked on throughout the meal and anything we needed was taken care of instantly. Just got finished with breakfast... we won't be returning! I got the corned beef hash which lacked flavor and was full of chunks of fat. It was terrible. The biscuits and peppered gravy was not terrible but not great. We also got lattes which were way too sweet, it didn't even taste like coffee.
