Every city should have a Dazzle. Jazz clubs used to be a prolific aspect of every city. However, younger generations do not have the same appreciation of jazz as their older counterparts, and bars featuring jazz around the country are sadly closing, unable to make ends meet. Dazzle is a huge space with a gigantic bar. On this particular Saturday night at 11:00 PM, the place was packed, and we could only find standing room space. Yet, the bartenders went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Drinks were reasonable, there was no cover, and multiple bands were performing. Most reassuring, the crowd was mixed and eclectic; all ages, all nationalities, all colors, wonderful to experience after Salt Lake City's homogeny. Jazz crosses all boundaries. Came for brunch on a Sunday. I have no complaints. The brunch buffet was huge with lots of options. Plenty of fresh fruit, eggs, cereal, the whole 9 yards. There was live music, although it was kind of a hokey band playing some cheesy 80's covers and making jokes throughout. Still enjoyable though. Dazzle was absolutely extraordinary this past Sunday for Father's Day! What a splendid experience. They indeed do know how to put on brunch right. It's buffet style so you can go back and get as much as you want and you'll want to strategize and make careful decisions to make the most of all that they have to offer and they do have something for everyone. Included in the buffet is a pick your own fillings omelet station, which is then expertly prepared on the spot. They also have a crepe & waffle station, toast station, 3 different types of salads, various fresh fruit, a cold cereal station with about a dozen boxed cereals and milk of the regular and alternative varieties (almond, soy...), various small desserts, the yummiest steak with chimichurri sauce, ribs, mac & cheese, lobster mac & cheese, the most mini biscuits and gravy I've ever seen, scambled eggs, potatoes.....I'm sure I'm missing something but like I said they had something for just about everyone. All of the food was scrumptiously prepared and very tasty. All of the wait staff are very cordial and check in on you frequently to ensure the experience is going smoothly. Monique was especially fun and attentive. Word to the wise....be careful with the menu as it could be a little more carefully worded as to which drinks are served up in giant fish bowl glasses. My lady's father ordered the Little Gin and Juice That Could and it came out in a bowl the size of my head....pretty large if you haven't seen me in person ;-) we all had to team up and help him out to get the thing knocked out. We had a bit of fun with it though so it was all good. The only reason I don't give Dazzle 4 stars yet....is because I hadn't visited since their old location was open on Lincoln and we came to find out that was 2 or so years ago. Such a excellent venue and yummy food. The best part is that the sound system is great and there is no talking during a show......simply whispering. We saw Annie Booth and her Charlie Brown Christmas Show. She is so talented and a good trio. The bar manager Nick was tremendous and so personable. We love this place and heard that it is moving to The Plex. Hope it keeps up the great shop for terrific jazz. read more

Went to Dazzle for the Sunday brunch, $30/person. I had gone several years ago when Dazzle was still on Lincoln and the brunch was superb! Not sure what has happened to the excellent selection and good food, but it was terrible! The food was still buffet style, but a very limited selection. All of the food was cold, even though it was under heat lamps and in containers. Did not taste fresh and definitely not worth the price. I do not recommend. read more

I attended the Easter Sunday Brunch today at 11. We waited over an hour for our food. When it arrived, it was horrible. The small dried out steak was too tough to eat. It was suppose to be steak and eggs. The service was slow and the food was not even as good as Ihop. Don't waste your time or money. The jazz band was fine. They mostly played show tunes from old tv shows. That part was ok, but the food was terrible and pricey!!!!! Dazzle did anything but " dazzle" us. Big let down!!! read more

It was a work group and we wanted to talk, but it felt a little awkward since the room was so quiet with everyone else listening to the music. Downtown Denver after a graduation and needed a place to eat. Happened upon Dazzle. They have Brunch from 10-2. Well worth the trip!! Live Jazz and fantastic food! Wait staff all very kind and attentive. Did not take pictures of the food since it is a buffet, but very good. Scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, bacon, sausage, various Mexican selections for nachos or burritos. The live Jazz is quite enjoyable. On our last morning in Denver we decided to check this place out for brunch. It's a VERY popular place--good thing they take reservations! There was a live jazz band playing that particular Sunday morning and it was a nice accompaniment as we stuffed our faces with all the brunch buffet offerings! The selection was very good with something for everyone. I can't even remember everything I had but I know I liked it all--especially the bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. Check out their line up! JAZZ is what DAZZLE is all about! They bring some of the most relevent current artists to Denver. Get your ticket online, then make a reservation for your party, show up, order some amazing cocktails, dinner- then sit back and take in the show. There really is not a bad seat in the house. Even the table by the kitchen door is really not that bad at all. I appreciated that Dazzle is a listening room, meaning that they foster "quiet" during the performance. You know that one friend you have who has no filters and can't stop talking loudly? Don't invite her. The acoustics are great, and the performances are so intimate. We even spoke a little with Nicholas Payton as he left the stage. Very thrilling! Incredible venue! Our group found the food to be diverse and delicious! The vegetarian was happy with her chocolate mousse cake and french pressed coffee, while I dug into a huge salad with crispy crab cakes . Our other friend enjoyed the pierogies. No complaints. We found the hostesses to be incredible, the service impeccable, and when an unexpected person showed up, we were reseated with no hassle. Parking: Unfortunately, parking is relegated to the street. Plus - they take reservations, so there's no need to wait endlessly for the promise of a table. Taken directly to our table, I was expecting a much more trendy interior, but was found comfort in the fact that the decor in the main dining room is understated and doesn't have to conform to trendy to be relevant. They are all about the music, company, and expansive brunch. Speaking of brunch - never have I ever witnessed a brunch with boxed cereal you pour yourself, or where you walk up to the bar to order your mimosa...after mimosa, after mimosa; which can cause a bit of a bottleneck of thirsty brunch goers waiting for their Sunday Funday. The food, every bit of the wide array of cuisine, was really tasty. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the pastries were warm and delightful, and whenever there is melted chocolate and fruit - everyone's happy. It seemed that I would forever be in search of a "true" brunch buffet in Denver that meets my standards, until I found DazzleJazz! I don't personally think I ask for too much, but I do have a very specific request... Brunch must include BOTH breakfast and lunch food at one time. Not serving breakfast at lunch. Not having a-la-carte options of breakfast and lunch at 11am. Rather, having one plate composed of breakfast AND lunch items in each bite. Mostly this can be found on buffets. But, Denver lacks buffets... See the dilemma? Kudos to DazzleJazz! Firstly, reservations are not easy. It's not that it's hard to get into this place necessarily. It's just that their website does nothing for online reservations. You have to call to reserve your table, which I find to be quite archaic. We arrived around 10:30am on a Saturday or Sunday over the summer. We were sat immediately in the low-lit Main Dining Room, on the mezzanine, facing the Jazz band. Our SUPER bubbly and well-spoken server Kendall greeted us immediately. She pitched us on three stations and described each one in depth. I honestly could watch her speak for an hour strait. She has the most engaging eyes and prettiest smile! She also knew a little something about service. She folded our napkins each time we left the table and we never had dirty plates on our table during the meal. I'm not sure how frequently DazzleJazz changes their menu - whether daily, weekly, monthly or at all - but below is a short review on what we tried a couple months ago. Mac & Cheese: delicious, but very strong smoked cheddar flavor (true to its description) Hummus: nice consistency, served with crunchy pita chips Cheese Board: moderate variety of cheese (would love to see la tur or snowdrop), featured huge capers (but would love to see caperberries), assorted crackers Omelet: made-to-order, extreme amount of cheese (SCORE!) Brisket: a bit too fatty for me, but their bacon was the perfect amount of crisp Other items enjoyed: - Crème Brulee - Cottage Cheese - Yogurt Parfait - Watermelon - Pineapple - Biscuits & Gravy - Homefries/Potatoes Hash - Corn - Crepe (also made-to-order) - Donuts - Crab Benedict - Chocolate Mousse Cake Hopefully with the above items in mind, you can see why I loved DazzleJazz for a brunch buffet option in Denver. I finally tried Dazzle as part of a group celebrating a birthday. We arrived early and sat at the bar until our reserved table was ready. My drink was made by a different bartender than the others, and I'm glad. My Manhattan was far better than the others. (I tried the other because we noticed the color was different, and only my drink had a cherry.) The host approached us to tell us our table was ready, and without prompting he took my drink and carried it to the table for me. (I was the only female with a drink.) It was a nice gesture that made a good first impression. Appetizers were just fine. My meal, however, was cold. The outer edges were warm, but the middle of my short rib was refrigerator-cold. (I can understand cooking a slow-cooked meal ahead, but I wish they paid more attention to the reheating.) I sent it back and asked to have it heated through. I am guessing they heated it this time in a microwave since it returned rather quickly and the onion strings had that "been nuked' texture to them now. On a positive, the staff were apologetic without going overboard, but made sure to check on me to be sure the situation had been fixed. The music was great. I enjoy jazz but don't get to hear live jazz much. But the musicians they featured were good, and they played the kind of jazz I enjoy. No Kenny G in this joint. I'd love to return for music and drinks--I'll be sure to look for the same bartender who made my Manhattan--but I'd probably skip dinner. I'm a fan of all kinds of music, but I can't sing or play a single note. Making music is a complete mystery to me. I had a piano teacher once tell me that I was the worst student she'd ever had - and it wasn't because I didn't try. I practiced day & night. I just think that the powers that be decided that making music would NOT be one of my strengths . . . and he/she did a good job. But listening to music, a different ball game entirely. This is pretty much become my favorite Denver bar and here is why. Food: They have an amazing happy hour menu with many good items for a mere $5.15 (burgers, mac n cheese-YUM, grilled cheese, calamari, stuffed mushrooms, baked brie, etc) and martinis and cocktails for $4. That is right and these aren't the sissy kind either. I especially love the salty dog: fresh grapefruit juice, grapefruit vodka and a salted rim)--three of these and I really do become the salty dog! As the other reviews indicate, the Sunday Brunch is also great with very diverse spread of good quality food and bottomless bloody mary's for a mere $8 extra. (yes, you read that right) Music: If you come in the early part of the week they often have live music for free in the main bar area (vs. show area) so that is always a nice treat. Otherwise, take a look at their upcoming shows and pay for one of the shows (usually $10-$15). Outside of El Chapultepec (sp?), they have the best Jazz talent around. Ambiance: Love the ambiance (funky interior, retro hip) and the diversity of different people it draws. It can get a little loud when it is full but it quiets down quite a bit once the show starts in the main room. Service: they have solid and attentive servers. The bartenders are friendly and the cocktail waitresses will even do a nice little "wiggle dance" for you when shaking your martini before pouring it into the glass. Overall just a fun group. My two cents? Best happy hour in Denver and overall a great place for good food, drink and music. P.S. seats fill early on Friday eves so make sure to grab a table before 5 or you may be SOL. Most tables accommodate 4-5 ppl at most so if you have a large group make sure to call ahead so they can reserve some tables before the rush. read more

After a long day of walking around LoDo, we decided that we needed a few little nibbles to hold us until a late dinner with friends. I really wanted to check out Dazzle, and Sarah was down with the idea. Though we were one of two groups in the place, we had a great time. The happy hour menu was well-rounded and priced really well. The ambiance was awesome, and I would have loved to have taken in a jazz show, but maybe next time. The real star here was our bartender, Brady, however. He was just the right amount of knowledgeable, interacting, and "mind his business". I settled on a Twisted Pine Raspberry Wheat beer, which was good... the raspberry flavor was light, yet discernible. $3 Happy Hour price... awesome! Though there were several items which sounded incredible (Panko-breaded zucchini & jumbo yellow onion stack for example), we decided to go with two small plates that were both on the Happy Hour menu, and thus $5.75. I was torn between getting the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Zucchini (I am a major sucker for zucchini). I mentioned to Brady that I'd never tried Fried Green Tomatoes, and he recommended that we try them. Such a good decision! Sarah wanted to try the Baked Brie wrapped in Puff Pastry with jalapeno-strawberry jam... and served with seed crackers and apple slices. I didn't care for the apple slices, but loved it with the crackers. I am of the opinion that it could have had a little more jam, but it was still good. It was a bit burned on the bottom, and though it didn't ruin it, it is never overly appreciated when a yummy app is burned. Looking at the menu for the normal prices, I am not sure that I would have been happy with the serving sizes for the full price. Brunch here is fantastic! So, making a reservation for brunch can be a little off-putting. I got a rather severe email threatening to give away my table if anyone in my party was 10minutes late and notifying me that we would only get our table for a maximum of an hour and a half. I had images in my head of big bouncers picking me up and tossing me out of the building at exactly 1pm. However, when we arrived for our 11:30am reservation, folks in our group were seated as they arrived. Because of the horrendous parking in this area, I was over 10min later, but was not chastised or our table taken away as threatened. In fact, we enjoyed a fantastic brunch. My particular favorites were the mac'n'cheese, the smoked salmon, the raviolis and the bottomless mimosas (which I ordered without orange juice at no extra cost). The fantastic bartender put up with our ridiculous jokes about "diet virgin cuba libre's" and was right on top of our refills! He encouraged us to come back and check out their happy hour some night, which we will definitely have to do. The music was fantastic and very understated. You didn't feel like you were at a concert where they served food. The music was definitely secondary to the grub & conversation, which was really nice. So, give yourself some extra time to find parking and don't let the nasty reservation email keep you from checking this place out for brunch. It's totally worth it. read more

We got in for the price of 2 for 1 so $5 per couple. Amazing deal. The music was great, the servers danced while mixing/serving your drinks. Great atmosphere, great drink deals! I wish I was hungry to try some of their food. The only downside to the place is that it is next to a pretty popular CLUB and the people that were there are a bit on the older side. This was our first time at Dazzle brunch in the new location. I was a die hard Dazzle on Lincoln fan, but I gotta say-Sunday brunch at this location was a million times better than the old location. The space is bigger so you aren't elbowing people every time you'd like to get up. The service was spectacular. Everyone was very friendly and attentive, even as it started to fill up (we are weird early brunchers). The music was perfect: the volume, the fun jazz covers of 80's hair bands, and general vibe was great for everyone. The food needs its own paragraph. I'm just going to say that if you can't find something here, I would be surprised. The variety was amazing-vegetarian options!, fresh fruits and salads, baked goods, hearty items, and who doesn't want Dazzle Mac and cheese for brunch?! I really enjoyed this place. The entertainment was top notch, service was friendly and food was delicious. My only suggestion would be to reconfigure the seating so that the wall on the upper booths was on the bar side as opposed to the stage side with a pathway between upper and lower booths. It is uncomfortable to turn sideway in a booth for hours with nothing to lean on for support. I look forward to returning to enjoy their Sunday brunch I've heard so much about! read more

We went here for brunch on Saturday morning. There was nice live jazz behind played and it wasn't too loud to converse. The buffet was nice, it wasn't gourmet by any means, but there wasn't an illusion given that it would be. We loved the history of the building, which was the primary reason of visiting. The bloody Mary bar is probably their biggest attraction. You make your own, and they have just about every thing you could include in your drink. read more

For a great Sunday brunch with live jazzy music, Dazzle is where it's at! But for dinner, I'd say....meh!!! Last Thursday night, I went with a friend and we sat at the bar for dinner. This was my second time at Dazzle for dinner and it wasn't memorable so I was hoping for a better experience. We ordered a bottle of wine but they were out of the one on special. The bartender offered a substitute at the same price for $31. So far so good. I asked for water, but he only brought one glass. There are two of us. Now, let me rewind a little. The first bartender that helped us was plain old horrible. He seemed a little spaced out and hadn't a clue about anything on the drink or dinner menu. He was doing a littlboth with ease. The second bartender that started helping us was a familiar face I've seen at Dazzle for at least 2 years. Bartender #2 has ALWAYS been great! But last week, he seemed to be distracted. Our bottle of wine came. Bartender #2 poured it and spoke a little about the winery. Yum. Then we ordered the pork belly "wings" as an appetizer. The pork belly order took foreverrrrrr to come out. There were two of what I call "ribs" and they were barely warm and the bbq sauce on top was literally refrigerator cold. So disappointing! We sent them back and was promised a new order. I'll come back to this. BTW, I don't understand why they call them "wings" when they don't taste or look ANYTHING like wings (chicken wings I presume). The pork belly is thick cut and long and resembles spare ribs, not wings. In the meantime, we ordered a cheeseburger and a short rib pizza (which was more like a flatbread). Entrees arrive and the burger is nothing to write home about but it was pretty tasty. The short rib "pizza" had a nice little tangy bbq sauce on it plus barely-there slivers of red onion and enormous chunks of pickled zucchini. It reminded you of a bbq chicken pizza, sort of! We ate the dinner and drank the wine but our re-order of pork belly never arrived. When I asked about it, Bartender #2 never realized that it didn't come back out. He went to get it and only brought ONE "rib" instead of the entire order of two pieces. Man!! I was so annoyed at that 'effing appetizer that I just blew it off. The bill came and the $3 pork belly appetizer was comp'd but we got charged $48 for the bottle of wine that was on special for $31. Bartender #2 adjusted it but, geeze Louise! We decided to wrap it up and move on to a different venue for a cocktail. In summary, Dazzle's dinner menu is over-priced and offers mediocre quality. To top it off, great table service at all times of the day is hit or miss. In summary, I love the low-key vibe and will go back for drinks and entertainment anytime. 2 hours at Dazzle and I am still sparkling...LOL This place is a great 5 star experience...If you love food, Jazz, buzzing crowds, more food and bottomless booze in the morning then the Jazz brunch is all about YOU! We went on Sunday morning with friends, I had called and left a vmail for reservations the night before for a 9:30am seating and sure enough they had our table ready and waiting. The service was very attentive without being too much which is just right for me! Its a bit pricey if you are a light eater or bringing kids but if you need your Sunday morning carb fest or starved in anticipation then I suspect you will be all smiles with the menu...our visit had a Mardi Gras flare and some of the dishes are really not my thing but Lord knows I didnt starve. Hi-Lites were: cheesey potatoes, pork shoulder, omelette, mac-n-cheese, cheese and meat, DESERTS, lots of coffee...dont tell anyone I snuck out some chocolate covered toffee, sofa king good! Process is, take a tour, then load up a plate, eat, rinse and repeat until your abdomen is distended sufficiently all the while laughing and listening to the live Jazz set... Been here a couple times! Drink specials during happy hour are great! Both times we were able to belly up to the bar. I enjoyed the jello martini quite a bit! I love the $5 appetizers too! I would pass on the chicken white pizza - pretty tasteless! The stuffed mushrooms were lacking any savoriness as well! The pesto pizza had more flavor! The jalapeño artichoke dip was great! Good music mediocre food. Five star music one star food. For my wife and I it is a daunting task to order from the menu, we have tried most items on the menu and find them all to be mediocre. We had our worst dining experience here, my wife ordered a steak well done, it came rare, we sent it back, it was filleted and burned into two pieces of shoe leather. Shei didn't eat it I paid $35 for the french fries that it came with. We continue to go to dazzle for the music, but we have gotten to the point where we order a bottle of wine to satisfy their minimum requirement. read more

This place makes for a great date night. If you come, know that this isn't a place you're going to talk to the people you came with. You're going to listen to great music (especially in the evenings). They have a pretty strict policy of little to no talking during the show. They bring in great acts and the service is very attentive but understated as you're there for the music. Call ahead. The food is pretty good, dessert is stellar. read more

I seriously love this place. Its a classic that will never go out of style. This place is perfect for a night out with friends as well as the perfect date night with someone special. They have daily musician line ups. Their calendar is very well updated on their website so you can always keep track of who is coming into town. Their drinks are very decently priced for downtown and they have great sides to order with the drinks. I had the pleasure of checking out the $15 ALL YOU CAN EAT brunch on a Saturday and it was delish! They had all the fixins for a good breakfast as well as a few perks, like a taco bar! You also get unlimited juice and coffee with the price of breakfast. If you're feeling a little dangerous, their mimosas are only $3, and their bloody marys are $5. You get a nice jazz show with breakfast as well. Before you know it, you end up spending 3 hours there and don't regret a single second of it!! Attentive, but uncaring. We went for recent Mother's Day brunch. While I'm not a jazz fan, the music was good, and provided perfect ambiance along with the decor of the restaurant. The buffet was good. Usually buffets just phone it it's, they let stuff sit and don't seem to offer their best food. But everything on the buffet was good. It was constantly being refreshed. Food was good. Issue we had was my daughter ordered a mimosa. When it came it oooked like a mimosa and my daughter took a sip. Turns out there was pineapple in the drink. My daughter is allergic. Turns out they mixed up the drink. Manager came over, we asked if they might have a Benadryl. They did, and brought us one. It was two years past the expiration date. I ran down the block to get her a good one. They never checked back, never stopped by again, yet they had time to refold napkins every time people left the table. To add insult to injury, the bill had suggested tips on it, starting at 22%. For a buffet. Not horrible, not great. Not sure if we'd go back again. read more

Getting our dinner took a while, but CODY delivered our meals perfectly done, salmon piccata and halibut steak. CODY also gave us a $30 credit to encourage us to test them out again. Extremely disgusted and disappointed by the staff handling of Mother's Day reservations. I, a mother and regular to Dazzle, have been hinting at how much I wanted to do Mothers Day brunch for several years now. My husband reached out by phone almost a week ago and finally was able to get a hold of someone that called back after several days. We have a large family and required a party of 8 but were okay with being seated at two tables. The staff member on the phone, after about a 10 min hold, told my husband that was not possible despite having the room b/c he said that never "works out well" even though we were completely fine with it. Then, on asking if we could just do one table for 4 only, the staff member said no because he "knew" my husband would just try to call back and get a second table. Seriously??? Who cares??? If you have the space, let people use it. This man clearly has mom issues. Thanks for ruining the day. I'm very much regretting all those recommendations I gave to other fellow mothers to come to Dazzle. Will NEVER be back. read more
