Great food, super service, not too fast - never get the feeling they would like to turn the table over

Just had a very disappointing meal at Dazzo's. I ordered the lamb risotto special. While yummy, it was hardly an entree. It was like a single ladle of slop on a plate. I've been more full after a bowl of 99¢ top ramen. My date ordered the salmon special. While it had slightly more food than mine, the people at the table next to us both received a portion of salmon that was TWICE as big as the one we got. They were even joking about it with us that it looked like a different meal than what we ordered. Date ordered one cocktail, total. I had some sparking water. Two "entrees". $82. No bread, no salad. Two measly plates of food and we left hungry. Highly, highly disappointed. Save your money or go elsewhere (like Toscana's). read more

Delicious, authentic recipes, friendly staff. It is a little noisy for those wearing hearing aids but worth it because the food is so good!

This place has great, innovative Italian. The Rabbit Ragu special was perfect and the Chorizo Ravioli was excellent (I did not detect the tarragon but my wife did.) The Pot de Creme with Swiss meringue is not to be missed. However, our server wasn't trained in how to open a Champagne bottle, so about a glass's worth spilled out onto the floor when she opened it with a huge POP! And our check came while we were still enjoying dessert. read more

The setting is warm and welcoming and the staff is top notch! Every time we visit, we get multiple courses, drinks and things to take home because the food is so fantastic! It is the perfect date night spot. Would recommend making a reservation in advance if possible as it gets busy very quickly. read more

Excelente food, service, ambiance. Starting with the appetizers, we had delicious mussels in a creamy curry sauce and house made ciabatta bread! Followed by two incredible homemade pasta dishes, the scallop pasta and pasta with clams. Dessert we had the crème brûlée! Amazing food! read more

We were in town for one night & decided to check out Dazzo's on the occasion of my husbands birthday. It did not disappoint! What a find!...once you find it! If your from out of town you will drive right past it, but don't let the small quaint exterior fool you. Inside is a bustling restaurant with people who come from great distances to visit. Hanger steak was terrific...and the staff was even better! Highly recommend! read more

I really want to like it, but it's just not there yet. I've been here twice now and both times something made me walk away saying it's not 5 stars. 3 may actually be pushing it. I put in a reservation for 630 a day before. I got a call saying their reservation system doesn't allocate the appropriate amount of time for a 2 top to enjoy their meal and asked to come in at 7. This was totally fine. I showed up at 7, but my table still wasn't ready and I had to wait till 730. This was alright but a bit frustrating if I'm being honest. Next to the food. I was worried but wanted to trust the hype. The first time here I heard about how amazing their homemade pasta was only to get cold crunchy pasta. The second time I decided to go with something different. This time we ordered three apps. The calamari, the shrimp, and the muscles. The muscles and the calamari both had great flavor but were luke warm at best. Keeping with the luke warm trend was the shrimp, but they were served on top of a starch that was beyond bland and kinda ruined the whole dish. The good was the pizza. A Seneca and the Modella. Both were good and the crust was nice, however it's not enough to save the experience. Overall the whole thing took 2 hours for 3 apps and two wood fired pizzas. This is just way way way too long. I love a paced meal but this was beyond. When the host explains that the reason my table wasn't ready is because people are eating slower I accepted it at face value. I was proven though that the experience is an issue with the kitchen. It'll be a minute before I give them shot three. I really do want to like this restaurant. read more

Came here as a random stop of the highway and it might have been the best road trip dinner I've had, at least that I can remember. It wasn't just good by road trip standards, if I lived here I'd eat there all the time! The food was so fresh, clean and delicious. We had an eggplant appetizer and the margarita pizza. We also had the pot du crème for dessert that was ridiculously decadent. Even for its small size the two of us found it difficult to finish. The service was attentive and friendly, and it was surprisingly convenient to the highway. We will definitely make a point to come here next time we have a long drive south. read more

They opened in November. Visited recently. I had the wood fired pizza. This would feed 2 ppl. delicious. Very impressed with this fine dining. MY friend had the Bolognaise special. Very Good..Recommended to Eric, Salad and bread would have completed the meal. You can have these for a small additional cost. Overall Beautifully designed. Very Comfy. Great acommodating staff. WOW! passing thru on I88 - great unique food. Don't be alarmed by parking and walking thru the back yard. The shrimp small plate on basil, arugula, oregano and corn was wonderful. I stumbled into Dazzo's because the concierge at the Holiday Inn was smart enough to recommend. Quite simply the finest restaurant I have come across in years. Unpretentious yet smart atmosphere; nicely selective menu items, wonderful and charming service. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu--I had their special "Seneca" wood-oven pizza, an amazing salad; great creme brulee. Everyone so kind and attentive. (And the price was right!) I live in NYC amidst dozens of fine restaurants--this would be worth a three-hour trip. (Maybe next time they'll get the license for cocktails!) read more

"Great" doesn't even seem like a strong enough word for our experience at Dazzo's Kitchen! If we could give it more stars - we would. It began with our amazingly attentive waiter who was also very helpful giving suggestions and knew the menu well. Everything was stellar. From appetizers, main course and dessert. The presentation was beautiful. The flavors were mouth watering and you could taste the freshness and quality. We also loved the uniqueness of some of the menu items. The owners came out to make sure we were having a good experience and also took the time to answer questions and explain how the food was prepared. What a great addition to the Oneonta dining scene! Dazzo's kitchen brings really good food and a lovely atmosphere to the wonderful Foti's building on River Street. We had dinner (right now the only option other than take out) there. Betwen the three of us we had the grilled salmon special, the bolognese pasta and the house made chorizo/shrimp pasta entrees. Dazzo's has become a go back to choice for us. Nice to have an upscale menu in Oneonta, the chef is original in choice of ingredients, presentation. While prices are somewhat on the high side, the value is there. The restaurant itself used to to be a family bakery for many years, as a restaurant the new owners have created what appears to capture a nice blend of upscale casual. Try it out ! read more
