I am very demanding when it comes to wine glasses and this store has more styles of wine glasses than all the stores in Paris or my home of Seattle. Let me explain. A wine glass must look fine yet fit in the dishwasher and survive the dishwasher. These glasses from Royal Leerdam in Holland can do this but they only seem to be available at la Vaisselle au Kilo. I can't find them in the US (but when I did they cost more than twice as much,) and I can't find them in Paris, (so much for the common market of the EU.) For selection this store can't be beat and for price they are very good as well.

Dille & Kamille is a store which originated in the Netherlands and it's a haven (or heaven) for anyone seeking any kitchen tool or accessory, garden supplies, spices, or herbal infusions for refreshingly low prices. It's like a Crate & Barrel in the US, but with European products. When I say they have everything, they really do, including a truffle mandoline for 14,95€ (about $20). There's a small tea bar in the back so you can sample the infusions they offer before buying some to take home, and their prices are amazingly low for Europe.

We were specifically looking to buy a Le Creuset stock pot and Rafael very patiently walked us thru the difference between Le Creuset cookware made of anodized iron vs porcelain so at the end when we did buy our stock pot, we felt really good and comfortable with our final choice. Rafael also reminded us to buy special cooking utensils to use in the Le Creuset stock pot and gave us tips on proper scourers - such careful consideration of our needs was really very much appreciated and am very glad such a knowledgeable staff member was on hand in the shop during our sojourn to buy the Le Creuset stock pot!
