I'll be honest; this isn't typically my kind of activity. But it's been on my "I guess I should try…read morethis at least once" list, so when one of my new friends picked it for her birthday, I said why not...and I'm actually glad I did! We had 7 of us total (supposed to be 8, but one friend couldn't make it), and split into two teams: 3 vs. 4. BABY!!! Teamwork is not optional here You need communication, quick thinking, and a good sense of humor because you will be stressed and laughing at the same time. We went through 4 different escape rooms: won some, lost some, but the real win was the experience. The friendly competition between both teams made it even better. It was giving "we are NOT losing to y'all" energy the whole time Now let's talk about the finale...THE PAINT BOMB. The white hazard suits?? The chaos?? The fun?? 10/10. That was easily my favorite part. Overall, it took about an hour, which was perfect for a group activity, not too long, not too short. My only con: the communication about the photos/videos. Apparently, you have to opt into text messages to receive your paint bomb pics, and nobody clearly explained that. Most of us opted out because...hello, spam?? So my group didn't get our content while the other team did. We had to go on a whole mini investigation and track someone down, which wasted time. BUT I will say that the staff was super helpful, and the manager ended up finding our files and sending everything the next day. So, it worked out, but it could've been explained way better upfront. Also, yes, they serve food and drinks (including alcohol), so if you're trying to make it a full "outside" moment, you absolutely can. We skipped it since we had a late lunch reservation right after, but the option is there if you're trying to get a little litty... Would I do it again? Maybe not regularly, but for a birthday, group outing, or something different...

Trying to figure out who could help us, each team member seemed like it was someone else's job. When I asked who the forms were up on the screen they said oh thats a different team and then had to get the correct forms up for us. The lockers were super difficult to figure out and had to have another team member come over and help. The games were challenging not because of the puzzles but because of the technology used. in one of the games you had to put your wrist band up to the scanner but the scanner didn't work causing us to lose more time. The last problem was that the haz mat suits did not work on keeping the liquid out. I was completely soaked from the waist down. I'm not even sure how that was possible. I will pass on this experience in the future unless someone truly wants to go and I can be assured that the games have been fixed and updated.

The back bar was closed for no apparent reason so we sat in the front. Someone did come and take our order. We got four cocktails (four people) and ordered chips and dip and a trio of hummus. We later flagged someone down and got pretzel sticks - note "flagged someone down" because for the rest of the evening if we wanted anything, including to pay, that is what we did. Multiple times we had to go bug the golf counter lady because the wait staff sure as hell wasn't interested, even though there were like 3 of them at the bar doing absolutely nothing. The chips and dips appeared long before anything else. Including water, which we asked for. Disgusting. The salsa was both really smokey and sugary sweet and my group speculated it had to have been canned. The guacamole was slightly better but it was obvious from the brown color and dull flaor it was probably made in a big batch and fridged much earlier in the day. Gross. The other two food items were decent. The pretzel sticks were particularly good. As for the cocktails? I wouldn't be able to tell you because they never came even though we asked about them repeatedly and were told oh they're coming. We watched multiple people dicking around at the bar for a good half hour while we waited. At one point one of them started sweeping up. We had watched the drinks go into the little ordering machine. We nudged them. Guess they could not be bothered. Eventually we had eaten all three of our heavily staggered food items and still no drinks so we decided to cancel and get drinks elsewhere. We finally flagged a waitress and she literally came up to us and said your drinks never came. No shit. I said we wanted to just cancel them. She literally walked away from our table without saying a word. No let me go tell a manager, let me check on that, nothing. Just walked away silently. Were we being punished? We waited a good ten, maybe fifteen minutes after that? Then a member of our party went up to the golf counter to ask if he could just pay there for our food. Then of course the waitress comes rushing over to have us pay. Guess she wanted that tip. This was insane. We were there for like an hour and they could not be bothered to make us our cocktails.

The driver cannot drink so determine before you go who is doing what and then the DD of the boat will go through a 15 min overview of the boat, steering, storages etc. Everyone must sign waivers online beforehand and the driver is required to take a test on boating safety and protocols. The boats have Bluetooth capabilities so bring your phone and connectors. Life jackets are required and depending on your time slot you'll have a good amount of time to go out and come back. Steering can be a little slow so as the driver you have to be aware of your surrounds and abide by boat etiquette. If you've never steered a motor or sail boat before you may want to take a lesson or hire a captain. Handling the boat in rough water would be difficult without sone experience. All in all we had a really great time and I'd rent again but do a longer session so we can go further down the canal. Definitely recommend for all my water enthusiasts.

I booked on Father's Day and there was a lot of double and triple bookings that took place which turned my 2-hr 1:30 booking into a 2-hr 2:15 booking. I had baby boomers in my party so explaining what was going on to them became a little tedious. Even with that hiccup, Benny & Vusi still delivered great customer service, they were helpful in instructing us how to use the boat, as well as personable and professional. Once on the water, I truly no longer cared about the scheduling situation. With that said, I will very much likely be back.

It was once inside the actual White House, but was moved to the Old Executive Office Building in 1955. (The original room that housed it is now the Situation Room.) There is still a bowling alley inside the actual White House, but that was built as a single-lane bowling alley in the 1970s under the Nixon Administration. The Nixon Bowling Alley isn't accessible to more White House staff, but the Truman Bowling Alley is! If you get the coveted invitation to the Truman Bowling Alley, go! Like all White House visits, you'll need to fill out a form beforehand that will get you past two security areas. (The second is like going through airport security.) The Truman Bowling Alley is in the basement of the Old Executive Office Building with clearly marked signs. Once in the basement, you'll walk through a no-frills hallway that feels more like a Cold War-era bunker. Step inside the bowling alley into a small kitchenette area with a display telling the Truman Bowling Alley's history. There's a wall of shoes for bowlers with a spray bottle to disinfect the shoes before putting them back. The back room is where you'll find two bowling lanes with one area with all kinds of balls and two electronic boards to input each bowlers' names and for keeping score. There are TV screens on the wall nearby that call out spares, strikes, etc. You can even take a photo of your group from the screen that is projected onto the TV screen. The room has photos of U.S. Presidents and guests bowling throughout the decades and a few seats along the side. The space is pretty tight. The lanes themselves come with pins attached to strings. It's a nice, fun, and special bowling alley. If you get invited, more meetings to go!
