Last year we filed separately as well and it cost $500 less! Nothing complex about the taxes either..standard interest mortage..etc. Only difference from last year to this year were a set of stock options that were cashed that were captured in our W2s...so hardly warrants the fee tripling! Shame on me for not asking the fees up front, but he was recommended by a good friend, so didn't think I had to worry about it. That will be the last time I don't do my own homework and the last time I use this company to do my taxes.

After her refusal, she hung up on me. When I called back and I protested about being hung up on, she replied, "You aren't a customer here anymore, so your complaints will fall on deaf ears...I'm not afraid of you." She then hung up on me again. If I had known that switching agencies due to a nearly 50% savings in premiums (nothing personal) would result in such rude and unprofessional treatment, I would not have chosen Best-Walker in the first place.

Every time I called (or received a call), it boiled down to another preparer had the question / I can't help you / can she call you back when she's done with her vacation in 2 weeks / etcetera. Naturally, no one was interested in hearing my displeasure with the drawn-out process, my paying them $700+ to NOT do it right - the FIRST time; instead I kept getting excuses.
