This company repeatedly called without leaving a message. I finally decided to call back and see…read morewho it was. I spoke to a gal, who was extremely friendly and told me that the call was regarding a class action lawsuit against various for-profit schools. I spent a year and a half at the University of Phoenix, so I bit and talked to her for a couple days. The second day it came out that this company was looking for me to pay a fee to have my student loans discharged. Red flags went off for a few reasons: 1. This is clearly a service provided and not a lawsuit. Any reputable firm would not charge for you to be a part of a class action lawsuit. I've been a part of them before and my mother is an attorney. Litigation attorney's generally get paid when a case is won and they take a percentage of those winnings. That's how those lawsuits work. This isn't a lawsuit - this is a company that files that paperwork for you to have your student loans discharged. Maybe not necessarily a scam, but not entirely honest by telling you that it's a lawsuit. 2. Never pay a fee for something that you can do yourself for free. The gal I spoke with told me the process would take a year. Then she gave me the fees and when I declined, she told me if I did it on my own, that it would take a year before I got a decision. Except that she told me it would take a year to begin with. She also did admit to me that I could go through the process myself. 3. The gal I spoke with also told me that they would help to discharge all of my student loans. She gave me a total amount that equaled my student loans in their entirety and not just the University of Phoenix loans. Roughly $15,000 of my loans are loans from a state University and not a for profit. So, at that point I realized she was using sales tactics to get me to sign on with them. All in all, it's interesting that they have their sales people talk to you about high pressure tactics that these schools use. I feel like the second I told the lady I talked to no, her demeanor toward me completely changed. She kept trying to drive home that I was taken advantage of and doing what she could to make me feel like this was my only option. I know better.

Is this company legit? First of all the reviews are barely even two weeks old. When I was on the…read morephone with them it was 21 questions..... They had no idea who I was and what I owed. I checked my account and im good on payments. I was pressured into paying on the spot and when I didnt pay it was a red flag. When my call was transferred I was mistaken for a completely different person and violated some HIPA (privacy) laws. I believe they gave me someone elses social security number. So I did my research and found out loan forgiveness is not real unless the school closed down but then again another school may take over payments... No or negative stars if possible Please do your research first or just go straight to department of education to negotiate your debt.

Karen made very costly suggestions that were not necessary to the success of the case, she took too long to process a simple case of child support, billing every month for services not performed, and overcharging for communications. Thousands of dollars were unnecessarily wasted. We terminated her services after 18 months because we found out that she was not representing us properly by giving in to all the opposite party's demands, altering signed documents, not filing applications in a timely manner. The last straw was when Karen yelled at my daughter on the phone. Her interest lies in making money not completing the steps of the case effectively, in some cases overcharging. The case files received were incomplete and some forms we filled and signed were never submitted. We requested the missing documents and no one is responding. Not an efficient attorney or the qualities of a super attorney as it is advertised in her profile.

Karen stirred up a crazy, heated argument that went back and forth with emails. The end result was…read morea $45,000 bill for my son's ex. He ended up only paying 3 month of child support. Basically he could have paid child support till my son was 18 if he had not hired Karen Brown. She literally picks a fight over and over to rack up her fees. The judge literally laughed at her silly arguments to lower the $600 child support fee. She is really horrible and I hope you do not fall into her trap. She brings out the worst in people and profits from it!
