    Red potatoes for the table

Deanie's Seafood was such a great experience! I had heard that this was a great place to eat and this was my first time trying it. It definitely lived up to it's name! Will probably be my go to seafood place in the Quarter moving forward. We arrived at 8:30pm and it took almost an hour for us to get seated. That speaks to the popularity of this restaurant. Our waitress was super friendly and super attentive. She gave us recommendations and was honest about the serving sizes. We got the crab dip (so good we got two orders of this!), charbroiled oysters, the crab quartet, and the crawfish trio. This allowed for us to try a bunch of the different options. All were really great for the price. Service: Great service from the waitress. Drinks: Full drink menu. Reservations: No, first come first serve Happy Hour: Yes, and it looks great! Outside Seating: No Parking: Metered street parking

This spot was recommmended by a local and for good reason. Prompt friendly service. Delicious nawlins food. Huge portions. Reasonable prices. The space is large with a casual diner feel. They serve boiled red potatoes like bread for the table. They we're slightly spicy and served with butter. It was delicious - and unexpected for this midwestern visitor. All the drinks are supersized served in a fish bowl. Make sure you have a DD if you order one. We ordered gumbo, etoufee, po boy and fried catfish. I ordered the creole spinach salad with fried oysters. All of it was fantastic! So much food that we had to get to go boxes. Note: they add gratuity to parties 5 or more. And a 3% surcharge if you use a credit card. Parking is a bit of a challenge - we had to park a couple blocks away. But we felt safe walking around 9pm. All in all it was a good dining experience.

If you're a fan of fried seafood, then this or your place. It's a fried seafood haven. The bbq shrimp are pretty good.

Deanie's Seafood was on the list of places I was told I had to try during my first visit to New Orleans, so I made sure to stop by. I ordered the crawfish étouffée--mind you, I had never actually tried crawfish before. My server gave great advice and suggested I start with a cup instead of a full portion, just in case I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it. I really appreciated that recommendation. The étouffée was delicious and very flavorful. Since I already love seafood, I definitely enjoyed it, and I think I'll appreciate it even more the next time I visit--especially after I've tried crawfish on its own. Overall, it was a great experience. The service was quick, the young man helping me was very kind, and the food was satisfying. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in New Orleans.

Ambience and service is great! Our server even got my friend who ordered a cherry cola more black cherries because she liked them so much. I know the Buckhead location is the recommended location to visit but we were staying a couple blocks away so this location was convenient. We were glad we opted to share the half platter among the three of us because it was more than enough food. We were disappointed with how bland and unseasoned all the food was with the exception of the crawfish balls.

I heard so many great things about Deanie's; I stood in line with my friends to get in; it took us about 30/35 mins to get inside. They do NOT let you in if you party is not complete. This is a really big deal as we are all mature women (70+) and hanging around in the line is not so good; but, the weather was good, and of course, it's Mardi Gras weekend, so the sights were quite entertaining and amusing. We had one stragler we had to wait for who finally made it. The head guy finally acquiesed (I told him i was 80 which I am...) so he lets us sit and she finally arrived. I had ordered my usual Gin Martini straight up, very, very, very cold (they did not quite deliver, it was cold, but they left off the very's...). I started with the crawfish etoufee - this was a "no," I actually sent it back, it was just not interesting and it was salty. I enjoyed the crawfish boil, It was crawfish, potatoes and sausage (no corn, which I am accustomed to). The best that I can say is the sausage was outstanding. There were 5 of us and we all thought our meal was just average. When I go back to New Orleans, I can pass on Deanie's...

Wow this place is way better than Acme. The chargrilled oysters were flavorful and tasty! The potatoes they brought out were a little salty but a nice touch. I got the red fish with crawfish étouffée and it was amazing! The green beans and peppers were a little bit of a let down because they weren't seasoned but overall a great experience! I'll be skipping Acme and coming here next time for sure!

Came in today because we were back in NOLA ... honestly it wasn't as good as I remember. The BBQ Shrimp were good, but not as great as I remember. We ordered: BBQ Shrimp/Chargrilled Oysters Service was great, we were quickly seated and orders were taken. Our waitress made sure to check in and bring us gloves and bibs to protect our clothing. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. I love that the restrooms were clean and they have the Sanitary Seat rotators. Enter freely, they've been approved

We arrived in time for happy hour. Our server was nice. She might have been a little busy though because she was come around as much as you'd expect to see your server. They serve seafood seasoned boiled potatoes instead of bread as a compliment to the table. They were different but good enough. The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was really good. We shared the half seafood platter and had plenty left over. I was disappointed with the taste. No flavor on the fried catfish and shrimp.

This is normally a staple when I visit the city. However, im not sure what was happening during our visit earlier this month but the well seasoned items we are use to was not present. We were promptly seated and waiter took order. It was busy as usual but didnt seem to impact food preparation. The fod was hot upon arrival but it appeared as it was battered but not seasoned which wasnt normal. There was literally no flavor present.

Can for the oysters and oysters only. They were delicious. The thing that I LOVED about Deanie's besides the clean restaurant and friendly staff was the potato starter!! I love a potato. I'm used to getting bread but the potato was the perfect touch!! The sauce was amazing.

This is the stuffed crab. It was more "stuffing-y" than lump, but it was flavorful.

We were looking for something heavy and sustaining. I really wanted pasta; my travel mate wanted crab. What we kept hearing was "try Deanie's," so we did. The food was delicious! I had the only pasta on the menu (at the time) the Barbeque Shrimp Pasta $22.95 and the Stuffed Crab $10.00 as an appetizer. My food was soooo good. My travel mate didn't like that the appetizer and their stuffed shrimp had the same filling. I would go back just for the pasta. The service was average, but fast. I liked that there weren't too many items on the menu and I liked that I could partially see the food being prepared. The restaurant was clean and being cleaned throughout our visit. For some reason, my photos aren't uploading. I will try to add them later.

Definitely will come back. Loved the gumbo and spinach oyester . Loved the bread pudding Yummy food, . The flavors of the dish were truly exceptional and thoughtfully combined. Presentation was also a highlight, making each plate a work of art. Service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. I would certainly recommend this establishment to others seeking a delightful meal. It was a pleasure to dine here.

There is a public lot (Premium Parking) located at 911 Iberville, very close (1/2 block) to Deanies. Rates are posted. And there's always street parking....

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! We will be back.

Entering through the tunnel you get the sense that you're stepping into a place you shouldn't really be and Sylvain seems to accentuate that with this secretive environment that feels almost like a cocktail lounge. The service was fantastic with the hostess seating us for our reservation right away and the waiter being incredibly patient and helpful during our dinner. We had someone in our party love the playlist here so much they asked the bartender for it as well. The menu is bold and complex but they were happy to strip it back to basics if needed. It was extremely cold in the restaurant though, so make sure to dress warm, especially in the colder months. We ordered their cast iron cornbread, chicken sandwich (no pickles or hot sauce), and their special of the night which was a pork-veal mix sausage on a milk bread bun and topped with sauerkraut. The cornbread was dry but the flavor was good. The butter they gave with it had cajun spices infused and gave it a nice zip although it was a bit too salty. Their fried chicken sandwich was delicious, light and crispy with salty shoestring fries that hit the mark. Lastly, their house special of the sausage was great. The sausage itself was well seasoned and the bun was soft and sweet. It was a bit salty with the added sauerkraut but the mix of flavors was still delicious. We also ordered a drink, just erotic not kinky, which was delicious. It's a bourbon with blackberry and lemon juice that was strong and refreshing at the same time. Sylvain is a culinary delight surrounded by an area that demands it. The food could be a tick better but it is still very, very good with fantastic service to bolster it. Whether you want a casual dinner or to drink cocktails in the French Quarter, this is a spot that is worth a look and your money, especially if you're with a big party.
