Just wanted to add my 2 cents on the food and service. I am a local, I've lived in the French Quarter for years. I love gumbo. I was told not to order gumbo at Deanie's because it's too "salty". I decided to be spontaneous this afternoon and grab lunch to geaux. My shrimp remaulade wedge was amazing-fresh ingredients and great homemade remoulade dressing. Unfortunately, the gumbo did indeed have way too much salt in it. So much, I couldn't eat more than a couple of spoonfuls. We went here on a Sunday night with 8 people and got sat within a couple minutes. Our server was fabulous and I don't know her name. We had calamari (very rubbery) and raw oysters to start. While driving back home to NC I had a craving for some oysters and luckily the Courtyard I was staying at was directly across the street. Arrived to NOLA with the family to bring in 250 celebration. I had been here once before in the 90s yet forgot everything about the town. I asked the front desk for a place to catch a bite to eat after 9 hours on the road. He suggested this place based on NOLA taste. We walked from the hotel and entered the bustling establishment.
