We came here for a quick snack before exploring the French quarter. The bartender was good and took care of us quickly. I love the artichoke hearts appetizer. It was hot, fresh, and crunchy. The marinara sauce gives it a zesty flavor as well. I was happily surprised to get some potatoes to eat upon arrival. I thought it was a nice touch instead of bread. If we ever are back in New Orleans, I wanna hit this place up again. This place is probably popping at night. We came for lunch shortly after they opened so it was not too busy. The place was clean and could be a casual or dressier place to eat.

Deanie's Seafood was such a great experience! I had heard that this was a great place to eat and this was my first time trying it. It definitely lived up to it's name! Will probably be my go to seafood place in the Quarter moving forward. We arrived at 8:30pm and it took almost an hour for us to get seated. That speaks to the popularity of this restaurant. Our waitress was super friendly and super attentive. She gave us recommendations and was honest about the serving sizes. We got the crab dip (so good we got two orders of this!), charbroiled oysters, the crab quartet, and the crawfish trio. This allowed for us to try a bunch of the different options. All were really great for the price. Service: Great service from the waitress. Drinks: Full drink menu. Reservations: No, first come first serve Happy Hour: Yes, and it looks great! Outside Seating: No Parking: Metered street parking

This spot was recommmended by a local and for good reason. Prompt friendly service. Delicious nawlins food. Huge portions. Reasonable prices. The space is large with a casual diner feel. They serve boiled red potatoes like bread for the table. They we're slightly spicy and served with butter. It was delicious - and unexpected for this midwestern visitor. All the drinks are supersized served in a fish bowl. Make sure you have a DD if you order one. We ordered gumbo, etoufee, po boy and fried catfish. I ordered the creole spinach salad with fried oysters. All of it was fantastic! So much food that we had to get to go boxes. Note: they add gratuity to parties 5 or more. And a 3% surcharge if you use a credit card. Parking is a bit of a challenge - we had to park a couple blocks away. But we felt safe walking around 9pm. All in all it was a good dining experience.

The service was fast and friendly and very helpful, considering we were visiting New Orleans for the first time. We showed up during Happy Hour and appreciated the discounted drinks and apps! Food was good, we both enjoyed our meals.

Deanie's Seafood was on the list of places I was told I had to try during my first visit to New Orleans, so I made sure to stop by. I ordered the crawfish étouffée--mind you, I had never actually tried crawfish before. My server gave great advice and suggested I start with a cup instead of a full portion, just in case I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it. I really appreciated that recommendation. The étouffée was delicious and very flavorful. Since I already love seafood, I definitely enjoyed it, and I think I'll appreciate it even more the next time I visit--especially after I've tried crawfish on its own. Overall, it was a great experience. The service was quick, the young man helping me was very kind, and the food was satisfying. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in New Orleans.

Ambience and service is great! Our server even got my friend who ordered a cherry cola more black cherries because she liked them so much. I know the Buckhead location is the recommended location to visit but we were staying a couple blocks away so this location was convenient. We were glad we opted to share the half platter among the three of us because it was more than enough food. We were disappointed with how bland and unseasoned all the food was with the exception of the crawfish balls.

If you're a fan of fried seafood, then this or your place. It's a fried seafood haven. The bbq shrimp are pretty good.

I heard so many great things about Deanie's; I stood in line with my friends to get in; it took us about 30/35 mins to get inside. They do NOT let you in if you party is not complete. This is a really big deal as we are all mature women (70+) and hanging around in the line is not so good; but, the weather was good, and of course, it's Mardi Gras weekend, so the sights were quite entertaining and amusing. We had one stragler we had to wait for who finally made it. The head guy finally acquiesed (I told him i was 80 which I am...) so he lets us sit and she finally arrived. I had ordered my usual Gin Martini straight up, very, very, very cold (they did not quite deliver, it was cold, but they left off the very's...). I started with the crawfish etoufee - this was a "no," I actually sent it back, it was just not interesting and it was salty. I enjoyed the crawfish boil, It was crawfish, potatoes and sausage (no corn, which I am accustomed to). The best that I can say is the sausage was outstanding. There were 5 of us and we all thought our meal was just average. When I go back to New Orleans, I can pass on Deanie's...

Came in today because we were back in NOLA ... honestly it wasn't as good as I remember. The BBQ Shrimp were good, but not as great as I remember. We ordered: BBQ Shrimp/Chargrilled Oysters Service was great, we were quickly seated and orders were taken. Our waitress made sure to check in and bring us gloves and bibs to protect our clothing. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. I love that the restrooms were clean and they have the Sanitary Seat rotators. Enter freely, they've been approved

We arrived in time for happy hour. Our server was nice. She might have been a little busy though because she was come around as much as you'd expect to see your server. They serve seafood seasoned boiled potatoes instead of bread as a compliment to the table. They were different but good enough. The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was really good. We shared the half seafood platter and had plenty left over. I was disappointed with the taste. No flavor on the fried catfish and shrimp.

An indelible time was had at Deanie's in the French Quarter! I've previously visited another location when in town and was elated to learn there was a restaurant in the Quarter. Brad took EXCELLENT care of our dinner party. We ordered salads, Deanie's world famous...yes world famous because it's the best...BBQ shrimp, potatoes, baguettes (not pictured) and blended adult beverages from the (full bar). I wish I could describe the BBQ shrimp, you'll just have to try it and become addicted like I did..25 years ago. The "gravy" from the shrimp is liquid gold and yes we packed it to go to enjoy later. Thank you again, Brad. The restaurant was jam packed busy and food took a while and understandably so, but you checked on us frequently, made sure we were good, answered our questions, made recommendations for the first time at Deanie's diners and you kept us laughing. I can't wait to return. I love Deanie's!

Been dining at Deanie's for almost 10 years now and it never disappoints. While driving back home to NC I had a craving for some oysters and luckily the Courtyard I was staying at was directly across the street. I ordered a dozen charbroiled oysters, onion rings, and a few shots of cognac. The appetizer of onion rings came out with a healthy portion and the oysters were perfect!!! I always enjoy the restaurant's diner aesthetic mixed with French quarter charm. It was late on a Monday evening so there weren't a lot of people dining in. I was able to walk in with no wait. I wish I would've asked the bartender for her name to put in this review because she was so kind and professional! Overall 10/10.

Some friends of ours from ATL met us here, they recommended Deanie's Seafood restaurant in the French Quarter, we did not have a reservations and they were not that busy, walk in and was seated right a way. Deanie's Seafood restaurant is located in the historic French Quarter area, they first open their doors in 1982 over sixty years in business. We orderd the grilled charboiled oysters, the cat fish patter, gumbo, the house salad, instead of bread to start your off, they bring you red potatoes with butter, all of the food was very delcious, plus our waitress extremely nice and friendly, This place charge 3.5% credit card processing, they charge 20% for separate checks for parties over 5 plus they charge extra for food take out, only one word....WOW!!

This is the stuffed crab. It was more "stuffing-y" than lump, but it was flavorful.

We had a reservation, but they had a large bar area where you can probably just walk up and eat

Where is good Parking facility for Deanie's?

There is a public lot (Premium Parking) located at 911 Iberville, very close (1/2 block) to Deanies. Rates are posted. And there's always street parking....

Do they have chicken or beef?

They are known for their seafood but they do offer grilled chicken or a burger

My son had the shrimp poor boy and I had the 1/2 & 1/2 Oysters Rockefeller, along with some alligator bits. Everything was delicious and the people were super nice. I ordered the shrimp po' boy, which was around $22, and was surprised it didn't come with fries. Usually places either include them or at least mention that they're separate when ordering. We also started with the charbroiled oysters, and whatever topping or seasoning was on them had this weird crunchy, crackling texture that literally felt like it was cracking against my teeth when I bit into it. I don't know if it was burnt cheese or what, but I personally could not eat more than one. The service also wasn't great during our visit. After our food was dropped off, our waiter never checked back in. I had ordered fries separately once I realized they didn't come with the sandwich, but after waiting about 10 minutes with no update, I finally got up and walked to the bar to cancel them because I was almost done eating at that point. Maybe we came at an off time, but overall it just wasn't the experience we were hoping for and probably not somewhere we'd return.

The food overall was outstanding, and it was a great spot to take out-of-town guests. To kick things off, we started with a dozen of their legendary Charbroiled Oysters. To be completely honest, we were a little disappointed with them this time. Normally, Drago's oysters are swimming in that famous, rich garlic-butter sauce, but this batch was not as juicy and lacked that extra sauce we are used to getting. They weren't completely dry, but definitely missing that signature butteriness. On the bright side, the rest of the meal was flawless! My sister-in-law ordered a bottle of Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay for her, her friend, and me to share, which was beautifully chilled and paired perfectly with everything. For entrees, my husband and I both ordered the Boneless Beef Short Rib. It was incredibly tender--true melt-in-your-mouth perfection--served over creamy mashed potatoes with rich gravy and topped with fresh sautéed spinach. My sister-in-law got the Seafood Pasta, which was completely decadent with a rich cream sauce over angel hair and a very generous mound of sweet lump crabmeat right on top. Her friend ordered Mama Ruth's Seafood Gumbo and loved that authentic, deep New Orleans dark roux flavor. Our daughter went with the Filet Mignon, which was cooked perfectly and came with a massive plate of hot, crispy French fries that the whole table ended up happily snacking on. Despite the oysters being a bit of a letdown, the entrees, wine, and atmosphere made for a memorable night with family. We will definitely give them another try!

That was really nice of them and we were able to redeem our vouchers at the same table. Mid's: - Spinach Artichoke dip - not a fan of this one. We were all really excited for this because we all love it normally but this one seemed off. It had a weird flavor and maybe it wasn't creamy/cheesy enough. - Fries - just fine. - Cornbread - fine. - Service: Our server got one of our orders wrong (a drink) and did fix it but overall, he wasn't super attentive and really wanted us to order the oysters even though we turned him down multiple times.
