The shop (renovated house) is huge and has two floors of rooms stuffed full of antiques This shop sells period clothing which is the main reason me and my friends visit because we are interested in such things. It is enjoyable to walk around, yet a little creepy at times, especially if you are on your own. Staff are generally friendly but a little weary about youths and so when we walk in they follow us around the whole shop in case we do something stupid i suppose. The antiques are crammed in and so you have to be careful when you are walking round and this can be hard when things are hanging off of tables. It never seems to get very busy at all. The prices can be quite expensive.

Staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and always there to help. It has over 55 dealers on two floors dealing in all sorts of antiques and collectables including vintage clothing, silver, vinyl records, furniture, military items, antique jewellery and much more. Upstairs you will find lovely furniture on display and 'Tylers Coffee Shop'. the girls are well trained here in making coffee and you get a biscotti with coffee and a flake with hot choccie! I recently brought 6 chairs and an oak dining table from the shop. The quality of the produce is very good. They also have excellent delivery staff. for example, when they delivered the order they put dust sheets in to install it properly and even put soft pads on the legs of all the chairs so that they would sit nicely on our laminate flooring. You don't get service like that anymore. Then even better, one chair developed a small creak and they exchanged it without a quibble. I would shop here again, no problems, no hassle.

There is a fine collection of porcelain celebrating the cities links with Royal Crown Derby, a military gallery, wildlife displays, an archaeology gallery, and an exhibit reconstructing Bonnie Prince Charlies visit to the city on his way to claim the English thrown. The museum is also home to many of Joseph Wrights paintings. Joseph Wright was born in the city and was a celebrated 18th century artist. The gallery has the largest collection of the artist's work anywhere in the world. This museum is highly recommended.
