Thankfully they've expanded their range and now sell a wider variety of pieces since those early days, including some very delicate pieces which contrast remarkably with the chunkier pieces they made in the early days (and yes they were in fashion at the time). Now the Newbridge brand is established and they sell quite a good selection of silver products. This stores sells homeware and cutlery items, frames, jewelry and my favourite thing that Newbridge makes: those silver Christmas tree decorations. Where Newbridge has cornered the market is in gifting. Many of their household items make lovely gifts for wedding or house warming presents that look nice but won't break the bank. I particularly like to send people the tree decorations at Christmas, a line which they usually add to each year, so if I forget what I sent last time I just get the new one! While Newbridge items are stocked in a number of shops it's nice that they have their own shops, which sell the full range. It is a breath of fresh air then to walk into Djinn and be walked around the shop by the owner (and buyer and designer) and to be pretty much spoon fed the info you need to make the right decision. The shop offers a selection of pieces designed and made by Simon (the owner) which are spectacular - with the exception of the jesus cuff-links which he freely admits are meant to be kitch and nasty... and believe me, they are! Simon also collects pieces from India where he goes once a year, they are all old and tarnished and have a bit of history behind them, he called them tribal pieces, very cool. In short, I like this place a lot, it's lovely to have an opinion on such things!

I saw prices from 28 Euros to 200 Euros. She was very patient with me and educated me on some of the designers that they carry. All the pieces displayed are very unique and handmade. (Definitely make a note of this, if you are working during the day!) Even though she was in the process of closing, the saleswoman inside unlocked the door to let us in. Silver Trout has a nice variety of silver and semi-precious stone jewelry. I bought three lovely silver Celtic necklaces at very reasonable prices (ranging from €22 to €40). We chatted while she carefully wrapped my gifts, and she was so very nice. I'd definitely recommend a visit here if you are looking for gifts for yourself, family, or friends!
