The team members took the time necessary to use brushes to carefully work the stain into the rough wood surfaces and into the cracks between each shingle. They were diligent in doing a excellent job. We never got that from them. 2. The crew would start work at around 9 - 9:30 am, take a break around 10:30, leave for lunch at noonish, come back around 1:30 and leave around 3:30 pm. I would guess they put in an average of 4 to 5 hrs a day. The job took 29 days to complete. Our roof is not a complicated one! 3. My husband commented they were the "quietest" roofer ever. Bang...wait 30 seconds, then Bang...wait 30 seconds. You get the idea. 4. The crew smoked cigarettes like choo choo trains. It must be hard to hold a cig and hold a roofing hammer, and place a shingle. They did do a good job of cleaning up their cig butts. 5. The crew size and personnel would change as well. There was one guy who showed up for a day or two and he had a disability that prevented him from climbing a ladder. What!? 6. The owner and the crew always had an excuse as to why they could not put in a full 8 hr work day. 7. Because they were so slow, they came in and worked a few Saturdays. One Saturday when we were gone, a crew member was dropped off and never picked up by his supervisor. He had to ask a neighbor for a ride home. 8. You could never reach the owner by phone. Only phone messages. That in a nutshell is my experience with Roof Over Vermont.
