The park is very good and the walk is nice. The whole loop is only about 1 1/2 miles so it's an easy walk. The other reviews talk about accommodations for a party, indoor sports like basketball, a gym, and more. We didn't check any of that out since we didn't know they were there. Speaking of the path and the lake, it's lovely and a nice place to go on a warm day.

Tip: There are several different trails here, all of which loop around Lake Glenview. The lake also has several piers, some small islands, and a bridge My two favorite trails here are the Lake Trail (one and a half miles long) and the Park Trail (one point eight miles long). I used to also very much enjoy the Lakeside Trail, but I ran into far too many ticks the last time I went there, so I've been avoiding it. Over and above the hiking trails, the park also has several soccer fields, tennis courts, and even some catch-and-release fishing spots. Last (but not least) there's a fitness zone with equipment for cardio steps, chest presses, an crunches, etc. But wait, there's more! You'll also find a children's garden, bike racks, water fountains, and picnic tables. All in all this is a pretty cool place to relax and get some nature on :-)

I appreciate the beautiful greenery, and although the park is faded and more worn than it was 11 years ago, my daughter and her bestie (4) had an absolute blast here! We spent a solid 3 hours here, bouncing between the spray park, playground, hedge maze and sandpit. The grass is spacious enough for a picnic lunch, and there are also two picnic tables on site. There are bathrooms onsite, including a family restroom which is great for changing. Not the cleanest, but decent for a park. I do wish they'd bring back the bench swings!

Every time I have visited there were few to no people there, so it is kind of a hidden gem. This park doesn't have a ton of equipment, but the playground they have is pretty nice. The surface is a nice bouncy surface and there are a few slides for the kids. There are 6 different single swings and a big hammock type swing by multiple kids. The park district did a nice job or incorporating some rolling hills into the play area to make it a little more exciting than a flat park. A large rope structure allows kids of all ages to climb and hang from the different lines. The park has a nice open space for kids to run around at. There is also a full size basketball court with lights for nighttime games. This is a pretty chill park to enjoy some time with your young ones at.

I only experienced the use of their well maintained, well equipped, and lighted youth softball fields on my first visit here and there are 4 of those, but there is much more here. There are batting cages, a snow sledding hill, a 9 hole golf course, a 22000 ft2 skate park, soccer/lacrosse fields, walking trails, and an activity center building which includes a fitness center and basketball courts among other things. There are also well spaced and adequate parking lots for all of these facilities. Impressive public sports and fitness venue and a big thumbs up!

This park is really quite extensive. They have a workout facility which had fewer folks there than I expected for a Sunday afternoon. The parking lot of the park is very large as well, which is good to support all the activities. They have multiple ballpark fields (three, I believe), as well as batting cages and a soccer field. There's a skate park, and I was surprised to see the breadth of folks who use it--there were some younger folks here but I also saw someone in his 50s or 60s skateboarding. They have a playground. There's a picnic-type shelter for people to have gatherings, complete with a fire pit. And there's a golf course! I don't know anything about golf but it certainly looked large. I think the golf course is free, as may be the other activities (unsure about the batting cages). There are also walking trails, and you can fish here but you must release what you catch. And near one of the ballparks, there was a tall hill... perhaps tobogganing in the winter? Really nice, well-kept park for all to enjoy. Glad to have learned about it and hope to return.

Located across the JC Penney parking lot at Golf Mill Shopping Center, this is a nice park in a…read moregreat location. It is another favorite playground for my 3-year old. What maks this one great is the multitude of slides: regular, twin, spiral, roller and tunnel slides! It is not uncommon for my son Erik to go down 20-30 times on a single visit to this park. There's a nice bridge to run across or bounce on, lots of climbing contraptions, and usually the ice cream truck shows up too. This park is a nice stop for us before we go grocery shopping and helps Erik burn off some excess sugar and behave once we get to Shop & Save afterwards, also located across the parking lot. Another nice thing about Golf Mill Park is the ethnic diversity. I see lots of Indian, Mexican, Korean or Middle Eastern kids. One time my son played with a group of very well-behaved Lebanese kids whose strict, eagle-eyed mom watched them from afar. Most of the regular kids coming to this park are from nearby unincorporated Maine Township, which is a working class neighborhood. It helps my son see there are other people out there besides the sparkling white boys and girls with perfect haircuts he usually meets at the other parks around Park Ridge and Niles. In the early evening, there's always a group of adults playing soccer on the nearby field while their kids are at the playground. The park has tennis courts and an outdoor stage of some sort, which I've never seen used for performances. On the down side, there is no field house and the porta-potty smells pretty bad, so kids sometimes use the bushes for bathroom breaks. Funny story: One time my son Erik saw a gray-bearded grandfather wearing a white turban and robe, sitting on the park bench watching his grandchild playing nearby. Erik pointed at him and asked me, "What do you call that guy?" Correct answer: "You call him a person."

Newly renovated park…read more If you lock yourself out of your apartment you should come over to this park and wait to be let in. It is newly renovated with a new half court basketball court and all new slides, swings, and park play areas. The park draws mothers with children as well as high school hoopers. Maybe one day I will strap up and show them a thing or two. I'm clearly talking about basketball not the moms...
