The food is delicious but the website leaves a bit to be desired. I can never find a menu.

While traveling through the area we decided to have lunch. Our first choice was closed so we settled on this restaurant. After viewing the menu, I decided we would share an Italian grinder that proved to be light on the protein with the whitest iceberg lettuce I have ever encountered. In addition, the requested oil was minimal as were the spices. I do hope the owners are not holding their breath waiting for my return. read more

As I was making my way to Niantic, CT, I made a detour in search of a quick bite, and after driving through Chester, I came across Deep River Pizza. I called to ensure they sold pizza by the slice, and they did. I parked and my sister and I walked over and placed our order of two slices and a drink. Our total came to about $9. I tipped. The restaurant is not simply pizza. There's a daily menu and Spanish inspired dishes. We received our order in 10 minutes. The pizza was greasy, but the crust, sauce, and cheese tasted great. My only complaint is the greasiness. I am also not a fan of the tipping screen being handed to customers. read more

They never seem to get our order correct. Ask for provolone cheese get American ask for genoa salami get cooked salami, ask for no lettuce just tomato and they give you extra lettuce no tomato. Light sauce on pizza you get extra sauce. I'm not sure if it's a language issue or them just not caring. This was the 5th time and last time. From now on Pizza Pub will now be our pizza place if choice. read more

This little spot is fantastic! Located right on Deep River's Main Street, this spot is more of a take-out setting. If you want to stick around the area though, Deep River Pizza has a small counter inside for dining, along with a few benches outside. (The lovely Main Street is a great setting for enjoying your meal! ) The menu offers a large variety to choose from, but as you can see from the photos, we always keep it simple with their pizzas! (This is a thicker, doughier crust style; I prefer brick-oven but their crust is so buttery I can't stay away!) Pizza is amazing and the owner is great. When I lived in the area it was my go to on Friday night. Grinders are amazing as well.

I used to love this place. But recently it's been terrible. Last time we thought they must've changed the ingredients for their dough for the pizza or something because it tasted different (in a bad way) so we decided to try again but ordered something that's not pizza. My cheese ravioli was frozen in the middle. My garlic bread was wet and soggy, the mozzarella sticks were also frozen in the middle and wet. They forgot the dressing to my salad, and my moms chicken tenders were pink in the middle, I hate to say it DRP... but you lost two very loyal customers. read more

Been going to DRP for years now. They have by far the best pizza in the area. The prices are great, portions are huge, and the pizza is a thicker crust and never skimps on the toppings. And I'm a new haven native and grew up on some of the best pizza in the country an deep river pizza stands with the greats. And I mean that. Just try the "town hall" pizza next time. REALLY GOOD! Being from New England, I take my pizza seriously and this definitely didn't disappoint. Split a salad and pizza with a friend. The first dressing we ordered was a packet of Ken's, which we decided we didn't want bc of the ingredients; so we switched to the house made balsamic and house ceasar- both delicious. He must have forgotten John at DRP provided hundreds of pizzas at cost for months while the Elementary School cafeteria was being renovated. read more

The staff at Deep River Pizza is friendly and accommodating. The pizza is very good unless you order it on a Sunday. Apparently that is the day they use up all of their leftover ingredients as they are closed on Monday. Twice I made this mistake. The crust on the pizzas both times tasted flat and old and barely chewable. The other ingredients were certainly not fresh and the vegetables were limp. Again, the pizza here is good. Just don't go on a Sunday. The staff is very nice and has never been rude. read more

I'm fairly certain I've gotten pizza take-out from this joint in the past and was okay with it. Today I ordered a calzone and was totally underwhelmed. The crust is tasteless and the edges too thick. The three ingredients are sparse and the dipping marinara is more like a bbq sauce. I just don't get it. Got an order of fries too that are thick and soggy- tasteless. Both the calzone and fries sizes are ample, but for my taste a lot of mediocrity. Can you tell I'm unhappy? read more

Great food. Well made. We had an issue once with a pizza being made incorrectly when we had it delivered. They brought a replacement within thirty minutes and told us to keep the other, if we wanted it. Delivery is usually faster than the quoted time. I do wish they offered delivery every day though. read more
